In adelaide we have chloramines which is chlorine bonded up with ammonia, it wont all evaporate... And the sand will send your ph through the roof, which is no good for those fish :-(

@sddbug Yeah, our water is pretty crappy lol. I don't have sand anymore, I got rid of it after a couple of weeks and went through 2 different types of gravel & have settled on a nice, fine one called Golden Pearl, i think.. Thanks for the info :)
Moneywart on the right good plant. I just got my hands on some about a month ago. I would up grade to a little bit more lighting I run t5 on my tanks that makes a huge difference. If you have anymore questions let me know
@kye88 It looked amazing but the water would never be entirely clean as the sand particles were way too small to settle, causing the water to be cloudy. :(
