I use a boat wrench as well. I put short legs on the bottom of the feeder to keep the feeder motor from hitting the ground. And yes found out the same way you did that you must tie off the handle. The short legs have saved my timer many times. Next time I'm at the property I'll video my feeders.

Great idea, but I think you can get away with not even using the silicone since the ring can hold it on with the lid yeah?

That could really come in handy for me because we've been driving up to my family's land in arkansas every year for hunting, but now since im old enough, im saving some money for a lease for next season.

yes, the racoons live there 24 hours. and have not one thing better to do than eat up a feeder. you are not the only one that has seen a racoon hang upsidedown. spin the plate to feed themselfs. another good tip on the metal cover.
