When erica comes through, she comes the fuck through baby. She is sickening. Easily one of the best contemporary dancers of her time..and please don't sleep on the subtle hip hop and isolations that she gives you in her choreo..

wtf? this is terrible. spastic movement, meaningless gestures, bouncing about with what appears to be no technique...and as far "emotion" goes, sorry people but a million people have danced JUST LIKE HER! It's all that "contemporary" shit all over youtube.
@anthonyshevling this person has worked with the best of the best. Your disrespecting somebody for putting their heart and soul into movement, and you cant appreciate it...

I can not only show you a million videos of people dancing just like this, I can show you videos of dance companies you've probably never heard of that would blow your mind away with ACTUAL inspirational and ingenuitive movement.
And to be honest you probably wouldn't appreciate it because you couldn't understand it. There's a lot out there with immense complexity. I probably wasn't clear in my point that this is mediocre in comparison yet receives more attention, which is really sad to me.

oh and just because you work with the best of the best doesn't mean you will amount to anything as a performer. Some of the best in the world worked their asses off and worked with people who nobody "knows of."
@anthonyshevling It makes me sad to see someone so close-minded. I understand that you see the importance in technique and your tastes may lie more in a different style of movement, but isn't the point of dance (of any style or form) just to make an audience feel something? While yes, a certain level of technique and control is beautiful to see in any dancer, the dance that I think is truly important is the kind that evokes some sort of emotion. And Erica does that for me every time.
@anothonyshevling shhhh. stop wasting ur time puting other people down. this is amazing. and if you can't respect it, then go watch something else. simple as that. love the piece btw!
Beautiful , God given talent you have , and im glad your not the average anerixic girl too , cause you got something to move =] im glad you and Parris Goebel are willing to share your wonderful talents , keep it up girl !
if you listen to her interview it kindda tells it.
In my oppinon you cant realy describe her style. Its a mix between contemp, lyrical and modern but with suddle hints of hip hop in the way she articulates her movment to the music.
... thats just my oppinion. Besides is dance and i think realy movment dosent need a 'kind'. if you know what i mean :)
she's inspirational. I want to be like her. freedom through movement, that's all there is to it.
