Your first concert tour was the first I had ever been to. It was the highlight of my life at that time. I was wearing this dorky flourescent outfit (it was "in" then gimme a break) and out you walked in that awesome jacket with the albums going down the front. Your voice still touches my heart to this day and I am so very glad that I have had the privilege of saying your name when asked who's amazing voice is singing. The singers on Star Search were far more talented that the American Idol crap!!! And for that competition, the judges were actually in the business - having Paula Abdul judge anyone's singing talent is the biggest joke - she can't sing herself!! The 80s introduced the averaging of all those who are prized and considered talent - Madonna, Janet Jackson, nice to hear but not vocalist - put them in front of a mike like Sam is hear - and OMG - you'll vommit from the sound without the production.

Its not because he's gay or had bad management its that the new "jersey shore" generation cannot respect or appreciate talent like this. When I was in fourth grade in Charlotte NC I was in the Christ church choir that sang behind him in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. I will tell you this, I still think about Sam singing "Close every door". He is incredible. And if you read this stuff Sam post some of your Joseph stuff so I don't have to listen to freaking Donny Osmond.

Freddie Mercury was never out and proud, and Elton John only creeped out of the closet over decades, first saying he was bisexual, then marrying a woman, and then finally coming out in the late 90's. Sam is out and proud with a husband and child. Elton and Freddie are bad analogies. Try to think who buys Michael Buble and Josh Groban, swooning women. Sam should have a piece of that market but doesn't. I I wish it weren't so, but it is.
