  • they never hit88 mph.!!!! someone should make a device that shoots gas on the ground to make two fire trails behind it---lol

  • prv v6 biturbo engine of the venturi 600 lm, I think I read somewhere, can produce up to 650 cv. had a maximum speed of 350 km / h

  • OMG, its a geek dragrace event. I bet instead of selling performance engine parts in the pits like at an NHRA race, they have star wars figurines, and back to the future t-shirts.

  • This looks like a great event. What are the quarter mile ET/MPH of the cars racing? What was the fastest time on the day?

  • The delorean has never been to fast of a car, but it is definitely one of the best cars you can get.

  • If it hits over 88 MPH it can take you back in time

  • the delorean on 3:19 is faster then the others what those it have in it a stage 2 PRV engine

  • all that stainless steel and an underpowered V6 really takes its toll eh....

  • the fibreglass underbody balances the overall weight to less than 1300KG in total. The PRV can be up to 400BHP when not throttled for emissions like the US spec.

  • I didn't know it was a fibreglass underbody....huh cool

but for drag racing, id prefer a V8 in the back of that thing, like they did for the movie

  • I have no idea what V8 sound effect they used for the dubbing but the car in the films never had a V8. I would love to know which V8 they sourced the sound from

  • Thats funny because both robert zemeckis and bob gale said that during the build up of the car, the mechanics installed a porsche V8 because the car was too slow for some of the scenes they needed to shoot. And usually when the director and writer say something about their movie, i believe them. So should you

  • I'd love to see the source stating they said that. I thought some Volkswagon variant was put in to replace the PRV

  • I dont know if its on the internet but on old VHS tape i have (when the movie first came out, my parents taped it), on it it has behind the scenes footage (some of the footage is in the BTTF trilogy discs) where that statement was made.

  • @ChrisVonBron i'm a huge BTTF fan somewhere a while ago i came across that it was actually a mustang V8 from the 80's 5.0 mustang. And although in the film alot of the scenes the car actually stalled and it was just rolled in neutral with the dub engine sound i think they had one running with an actual V8 sourced from a mustang V8. Hopefully i come across the source and will provide link.

  • @SuperMuise A V8 wouldn't do no good for one of those. They are worthless for the Fiero's. Your better off either Supercharging the V6 in the Delorean or getting a 3800 V6

  • Magic, was definitely worth the effort seeing this. We especially liked the 'Black' model as this is the car our bands name was based on

  • sounds more Like lawn mowers racing

  • if only these cars had shorter gear ratios or a higher gear (numerically bigger) final drive, then the motors in these cars will actually be able to help the car get going off the line finally!

  • The Renault UN-1 gearbox (similar to the one in the Esprit, Venturi and A610) came with many gearset types. DeLorean's are like lego. If you want to change the ratios change them.
