  • where was this video filmed??

  • smooth car indeed but it has always felt underpowered to me...there is something fishy about the hp rating here.

  • I have a 1993 LS 400 pearl white and i love it! and i do the work myself on it too. and about the parts they are not more expensive then people think...the labor is expensive .I had a 1996 cougar XR7 before and the parts were about the same price.

  • @sweetcougar Actually parts have gone up considerably on this car recently. Now that this is an older car, Lexus has bumped up the pricing on parts because it is so rare. My '92 needs some work & I want to do it, but the cost is too much to justify for a car that old with 400,000 KMs on it regardless of the the fact that it is still in near mint condition. :(

  • hello, do LS400's have the rear climate control like the Celsiors with the controls in the rear armrest.

  • @bentleyv8t Hi! No - unfortunately - LS400's didn't come with a lot of 'things' that you could find in the Celsiors. And not just the rear climate controls. I think on Celsior's you could also get heated and vibrating rear seats. And even side window curtains. ['drapes! lol]

  • i love my 93 the only thing i have problems with is the expensive parts or how they are extremely hard to find parts but out of all my cars this one is a keeper and if well kept can get up to 400k+ miles

  • I just bought one of these cars for $2000 and 182,000kms on it. Smooth smooth car. Very elegant. But My Seville is still more addicting to drive. Wouldn't trade them in for anything.

  • Congratulations on the 'new' Lexus. Trouble is - considering how little it costs to buy one of these cars - it makes it tough to want to spend too much money on it. My LS needs new coil springs and struts, etc., but it would cost more to replace those parts than the car is worth. In fact - it could probably use a new torque converter too - but the TC alone is over a thousand dollars. Not sure what to do because no matter what I spend on it - it will never be worth more than it is right now.

  • Thanks. But yes you never will get your money back out of it. I have a thing for 1990's styled luxury sedans (I think they were the last generation of tasteful styling) but I don't drive mine too often now. I just replaced the CV axles on my seville and soon the ball joints too. The LS needs nothing yet but I know it will eventually and because I like them so much and enjoy working on them myself, I will keep them around so long as the bodies don't rot or the Seville's engine doesn't fail.

  • But if you like it enough then why get rid of it? Get a cheap car or pickup to drive everyday and keep your LS on the road longer (they're old cars now). If you have time and room to work on it yourself then really you'll find that parts for these aren't as crazy as they sound if you buy aftermarket OEM and not from the stealerships. Some parts are pricey though no matter what, but at least you won't be spending $110/hr shop rate. And if you're as crazy as me, you'll have fun working on it.

  • original Lexus/Toyota OEM parts aren't pricey much... it's just depends on you, if you are to sell the car - don't waster your time and get rid of it, but if you like it then it's okay to spend some money to get it rollin' good

  • @CanadaCraig The air suspension just blew on my 93 Celsior as well, Coilovers are 800$! ouch! My Celsior doesn't have the flip down armrest radio controls and climate control or vibrating seats, but it has the touchscreen satnav/climate control and parking antenna!

  • i have a 91 lexus ls400 and i hit 160mph b4 i started making mods

  • Is this in Canada?

  • Yes!! :o)

  • I like Canadian roads more than American ones. The Americans can build them wide and big but they use "elements" that haven't changed since the 60's. Canadian roads have that European thing that's called sophistication.

  • nice car

  • No doubt your Acura would. The torque converter on my LS400 isn't transferring ALL of the engine's power to the transmission. [So it's been discovered] Now I have to decide what to do about that. It's fine - but could be much quicker. Do I spend $1,500 [Or so] on a car I could only get $6,000 for - IF I'm lucky?! The trouble with cars - is that that you're IN the bottomless pit BEFORE you know it. I could spend $100,000 on my Lexus - and it would still only be worth $6,000 or so. Craig

  • acura, lexus your fucking retarded

  • How about crushing my nuts with your chin?

  • nice ass sound man

  • I love my LS400 also. Soon to do a supercharger and MAYBE a 4.7 liter toyota tundra block conversion... yummmy

  • I do that in my 96 SC400

  • wow, which province are you in? no cops or nothin to pull you over at 100 miles an hour!

  • how do you get ur rpms that high?

  • How do I get the RPM's up that high? Well.. that's easy. Just push the gas pedal to the floor [As far as it will go] and let the automatic transmission shift gears. :o)

  • Hahah same with mine..

  • damn this car sounds crazy! i have a 1992 es300, it needs a catalytic converter, once i put it in, i hope it sounds like yours...wow...kudos

  • no... over engineered v8 vs a dull v6. sorry

  • Nice work, love these cars!
