I don't see why everyone is upset at 4kids, because they didn't want to dub One Piece. They got stuck with it in an anime deal and they dubbed it horrbily so they could get rid of it legally. If people hated it, another dubbing company (Funimation) would take it off their hands. Why be mad at 4kids when they did what they did for Funimation? BTW, awesome songs. I don't care what people say. Be a Pirate is my fav out of these 2 though.

That idiot comeback was as great as a showing of Twilight. I happen to like 4kids voices. Lisa Ortiz, Maddie Blaunstine (Before her death), Ted Lewis. They're all good voice actors. And One Piece isn't doing horrible, as you say it is. They're doing wonderfully.

Its in danger of being unlicensed idiot. FUNimation dubbed up to episode 205 and havn't announced anymore. If it truly was in good condition, they would've have jumped on it but they havn't because its not selling enough. I like how you insult for me for insulting, kinda hypocritical isn't it? I love how everybody forgets that Funimation is up to their elbows in anime right now, thanks to the big anime loss we recieved when certain dubbing companies fell a couple of years ago. They don't have time for One Piece right now. Shanks sounds good as australian. I'm a hypocrite, huh? No, I just don't like you. :) For the record, the 4kids soundtrack wasn't that bad. The pirate rap wasn't the best song ever, but it wasn't the worst, either.

@DisturbedDuelist im sorry shanks sounded shit in the 4kids dub, and the pirate rap was so out of place for one piece, one piece on of funimation most popular anime, with a strong fanbase behind it, they will continue dubbing, it will just take a while, if 4kids didnt start will op it would be big now... 4kids may have got it in an anime package, what stopped them from giving to another company or refusing to dub it?

They said they wanted to get rid of it legally. I'm not a lawyer, so I don't know. I agree that Funimation has done an excellent job with dubbing it and I do think it is better than 4kids. However, I do have my opinion and I don't have a problem with 4kids shows, except for the fact that they don't finish them.

@DisgaeaWare One Piece airs at 9.30am on Sunday mornings. It is most certainly a childrens' show. That fact, however, should have no impact on your enjoyment of the series. The series is enjoyed by parents watching it with their kids, and the manga currently outsells its competitors tenfold, so it most certainly has an expanded audience.

BTW I've been enjoying the show you've all been putting on in the comments section so far. Keep it up.

@cooltallt In Japan, those things are okay for kids. Hell, it's from Shonen Jump which is for young boys. Hey, it's a different country so there are different ethics when it comes to censorship. Where do you think 4kids got the idea that One Piece should be for kids in the first place?

So yeah, Japan can get away with certain things for kids series but there are some restrictions which aren't as bad as in the US.

People don't know the whole story they recieved One Piece along with Shaman King and Yu-gi-oh! They were just going to sit on the license until it expired but with the lose of Pokemon (which I'm not sure if the gave it up or TCPI refused to license renewal) they were going to need a profit maker...so they decided to dub it and see if they can make something off of it. They planned all the way to Skypeia but Toei allowed them to drop the series after Rainbow Mist filler arc.
