  • Meguro is a genius, and one of my favorite music composers, who else could create such epic music for such a number of games, and all of his pieces differ in style, that makes him by far, in my opinion, one of the greatest music producers of this, and the last decade

  • Four people's data was absorbed by God...

  • *fangirl squeal*

  • *Huge ass train would like to battle!*

  • Shin Megami Tensei music and games are in a league of their own. Great stuff.

  • i truly can't understand what went through the minds of the two people who clicked dislike.

  • Best soundtrack EVER!!!

  • great job once more buddy fantastic

  • horray for the infinitely long pillar

  • It's even better if you imagine it playing while you are kicking God in the face. Repeatedly.

  • o...m...g i love 1:18-1:44...it makes me feel like i'm protecting my sister from this soul-eating demon. we're standing in a Whole Foods right...and there's this soul-eating demon wandering around for some reason and it senses fear and my sister gets really scared when she sees it and the monster runs at her ready to nibble on her soul and then i jump in between them and the demon starts to suck out my soul but my spirit is too strong then i use ken's ultra from street fight 4 on him.

  • Who else brought the special edition of the game that had the OST included with it?

  • Epic the music is, but the battle was not epic. What the fuck was God? "He wants us to fight him?" . When Sera said that I was like WTF?????

Battle came outta no where with no reason or explanation. Story was concluded in a very weird and awkward way which is a shame because digital devil saga had an amazing themes, concept, and story. With the advent of the hadron collider and discovery of the smallest particles of the universe, we may soon experience our own digital devil saga.

  • @Tinhh "In us, the Karma Temple has engineered it's own demise." It could be possible that, in doing what Se(ra)ph and the others did, they denied Brahman stature of being "god." So in order to reclaim or lose it, he wanted to fight? I dunno, it's been a long time since I played it so don't remember everything. Shoji Meguro is a master though.

  • @popimpi The karma temple (or should we say Society) is no god, they wanted to copy God power, but screwed up the entire earth in the process. God isnt a very Personal deity to say the least, he actually started damaging the Earth when he felt Sera´s sadness during an experiment to communicate with God, and then all the data of the sun started to corrupt (its complicated...). The point is that they are not figthing to defeat God (he is not the douche of other SMTs, he doesnt have a personality)

  • @Tinhh God is the origin, all data comes from god and to god it returns. During an experiment to comunicate with God, Sera saw something that led her to inmense sadness, and when God felt that sadness his data got corrupted, making the Sun lethal to earth. The point of the fight was not to defeat him, they wanted to calm him so that Earth could be saved, and somehow from the battle Seraph would reach enlightment, making God recover his faith in humankind as he had been shown mankind´s potential

  • The picture looks like doomsday epicness with the black sun and all

  • SMT games rock Atuls is the best =]

  • great!

    my favorite

  • Having a hard time deciding between this song and Hymn of the soul (P3). Right now, this one takes the crown.

  • I simply adore every single last track Shoji Meguro has done, this man is God of BGMs.

  • First 20 seconds of this song made me cry.

  • Hahaha...yeah, it's good, isn't it?

  • @SuperPandas why?

  • Well, match actually means equal or better...I think it's better.

  • @bixybixy2

    Gtfo

  • I was actually just about to suggest this. AND YOU ALREADY HAVE IT. :D

  • The most epic final boss song.

  • i want the ddS3 right NOOOOW i miss the embriyon team T_T

  • There won't be a DDS3... I hope not, anyway. The game is perfect as it is, adding more would spoil it.

  • Well, we,re talking about Atlus, here. Maybe they can make some extremely great sequel to it, right?

  • No. Digital Devil Saga 2's ending wrapped everything up nicely.

If they were to make a DDS3, it would have to take place in an alternate universe, with different characters. Otherwise they'd probably ruin the plot of the first two.

  • Well, alternate universe are always welcomed, for all I care. It could take place like many many years after the events of the first two games, or something. That'll be nice, don't you think?

  • i was crazy to begin with how could they ruin they would have to do sumthin off the wall in my opinion

  • Not really. Atlus doesn't really make that many sequels. Their main series only has three titles, damnit. The rest are spinoffs.

I dunno, there's nothing more to add to DDS. The ending was round, perfect and tied up all the loose ends. There isn't anything else to add.

Though, a game that adopts the Mantra system WOULD be great - probably one of the best aspects of DDS.

  • Yeah, I guess you're right. At least, we can always count on Atlus to make some great - Or just average - games to satisfy us! ^_^

  • I dunno, one day I want to see a game with the sort of basic story of the DDS games, people start turning into cannibalistic demons, but in the setting of the modern world.

  • Cannibalistic demons in our world?! O_o...Wouldn't they be considered like zombies, or something?

  • Not really, Zombies eat human brains.

Cannibalism is pretty much eating their own kind.

It's pretty much man-eating AND cannibalism (demon eating)

  • DDS PSP: FES.

  • @LegendPst

Well it could be possible to create a DDS3 but it would have to have a completely revamped storyline. Sort of like the persona series though they did share some similar story characteristics between them

  • Epic final battle song.

  • Where can you get the mp3 for this song

  • gh(dot)ffshrine(dot)org divine identity is the real name me thinks.

  • The final battle against Brahman is EPIC and so is this music.

  • nice epic song really nice thx for upload XD

  • its easy when u have drain ice elec fire earth and force for this boss but it dissapointed me when figthing hime cuz meganada is so hard without void phys

  • Do you have a link for a download for this song?

  • Seriously, this music is so epic! I honestly never played DDS2, but dam, it sounds like a typical Atlus game: amazing in every aspect- gameplay, story, & music-wise.

Putting that aside, I just found one of my most favorite songs.

  • Typical epic Atlus music. <3

  • this game is hard but it has great music.

  • what makes this game hard?

  • Well, for example,

1st. this game use a unique turn system your team have a fix number of turn to use depend on the number of party members that participating (usually 3) and the same goes for your enemy

2nd. Striking weakness system, It is pretty obvious that hitting your enemy's weaknesses deal extra damage but in this game it also take away their turns same goes for your party if an enemy hit one of your weakness you lose one of your turn.

  • and there are more

3rd. recovery items are expensive and hard to find.

4th. there are nasty combo that can wipe your party out.

5th. harder enemies don't have weaknesses and can hit all your weaknesses.

  • Damn O___o

  • Dont forget the nasty dungeons. They can be a pain too. I like them better than the P3 and 4 dungons though. Those were WAY to easy for SMT dungeons

  • well unlimited saga is also a hard game with epis soundtrack but harder than this game

  • hmmm i agree with you with your listing for this song~ there are better one's but this one is still awesome :D all smt soundtracks are awesome

  • The intro to this track gives me goosebumps. Also kinda reminds me of DMC 4 for some reason.

  • Divine Identity, name and music is awesome.

  • Wow.

    I want this game now.

Gotta finish DDS1 though. Good game.

  • dont make publicity for ur stuff in another's video dumbass

  • Oh, this brings back beautiful memories of an epic game and an epic final battle.

  • Hey SupraDarky i like the choice in your VGM i like them all!

  • This music kicks ass!

  • Honestly, this one is simply leagues ahead.

    //

    Brahman's epic battle is epic.

  • Either way they are composed by the same guy so all Mega Ten music is great

  • i wouldnt compare them there entirely different genres. DDS uses Nu metal(or i think thats what its called) and persona 3 uses mostly R&B music. usually when shoji meguro uses a music theme for a game hes making music for he sticks with it for that whole game. point is I wouldnt really compare this with persona 3's "Burn my Dread(last boss)" they just cant really be compared i think.

  • I think for most of his battle themes, particularly in the DDS series, Meguro likes to throw in a lot of industrial sounding stuff...which makes it that much better X3

  • That is....PURELY a matter of opinion.

  • wow...

    what can i say, but...

it's just so great! it should be much higher up on the list, but, then again, i haven't heard the rest of the list. and it's always impossible to make a perfect list, because people always disagree with what they think is better. but so far, yours has been pretty good!

...mine would be better, lol :P

(to me, anyway. opinions, remember? you member, member?)

  • The list is in no order. :) I started at Best VGM 01 and up.

  • neautral as it should be

  • The best song in the game. It's so perfect for the final battle of this game. The chorus really has a sense of finality.

  • The whole game is just awesome, so the music is.

    Will love this for ever.

  • Quite possibly the best final boss theme ever... I mean it ever. I got myself the soundtrack just because of this theme and the normal battle theme. By the way, the theme name is Divine Identity on the Avatar Tuner Soundtrack which sounds a lot cooler than Final Battle.

  • Ah, so it's called Divine Identity. >_> I couldn't find 'Final Battle' on the soundtrack.

  • Yes. Thats the name.

  • Actually, it's Divine Entity, not Identity.

  • I do not think so.

  • My DDS2 OST does.

And so does this video's title.

  • Do you actually own the soundtrack on cd? If so I believe you.

  • Yeah, I do, I got it with my DDS2: Collector's Edition, but upon further inspection, it IS Divine Identity. Pardon the mistake. ^^

  • No problemo.

  • This is quite possibly the best boss battle theme I have ever heard.

  • So THAT's what I stumbled onto in the Boss Battle compilation music. I should have known it sounded like a Shin Megami Tensei song.

  • oh man this is nice music!

  • Its the best tune Ill ever hear nothing can compare to it.

  • I've been looking for this *forever!* thank you so much! ;)

  • It's awesome that finally I found another person who likes all these songs. Some like this game I just got from the music of it and I liked.

  • Great song! The regular battle music is among my top favorites too.

  • Never played the game but that song sounds awesome. I'd like to hear a few more if got them. :)

  • It sounds great, but now I'm spoiled to the Final boss's name if I decide to play it :|

    Oh well.

  • Good point! I removed the name. :P I don't think it's too much of a spoiler in this particular case though!

    Sorry. ;P

  • It's okay :)

I'm guessing it's not a reoccurring character in the game, then?

  • No its not...

  • yeah, the only thing that name does is give away the overlying theme, and the theme could be pretty obvious as soon as you head to your first city.

the maps in the game killed me sometimes, and a lot of people didn't like the music (too much rock), but i thought it was all genius. funny how i can't recommend a single song that sounds like this one.

anyway, i loved this series, and i really hope they make another two someday.

  • @Sephiko That's no spoiler. The entire game is about Hindu mythology so having the Hindu chief god as a final boss is only logical.
