  • que ano foi gravado este DvD,alguém sabe.

  • IF they only did away with the ridiculous music and changed it for some more modern.

  • para para parauneeeee para parauneeee. axe'

  • @YourTheBlame2 tanx same to you ;)

  • @YourTheBlame2 well yeah but this martial art isnt much for offense if a wrestler knows and sees there kicks takes him to the ground the capoeira fighter wont know what to do but that is true if the capoeria fighter knows what hes up against and defense himself he would after seeing an opening he would knock the wrestler out

  • Capoeria alone sure is pretty, but that's about it. Some good principals throughout the system. However, to rely on capoeria as primary self defense is asking to get knocked out.

  • @tphroc Nope your wrong, and to think that is pretty ignorant. I'm assuming your watching fantasy movies and not reality, where In Brazil theirs counts of people getting kicked in the temple and dieing.

  • why do they headspin

  • mt massa os movimentos XDXD gstei pakaramaba, mas a ginga axei um pouco fraca :S e o que e a capoeira sem uma bela ginga?? nd XD

  • I have nothing against capoeria and I respect all martial arts but for me this martial art isn't really practical I practice muay Thai and BJJ and if you take a capoeria fighter to the floor they dont stand a chance and defending is mostly a weak point again no offense I love how this sport looks and I respect it just my opinion feel free to correct me

  • remember singing this song

  • I swear capoeria is one of the strangest fighting styles I've ever seen. I have never met anyone that can actually do it. I train in kickboxing and jui jitsu but capoeria intrigues me!!!

  • at least a video thats somehow useful for learning :D

  • I love watching Capoeria!

  • Absolutely beautiful...their level of control...theyd be absolutely deadly in a real fight. wish people could see this and stop trashing capoeira....

  • I thought capoeria was just a dumb dance... until a good capoeria guy came into our gym and kicked my kickboxing ass! Haha this is legit stuff man

  • @ohitsubob cool story bro

  • I think the kick at 2:07 landed

  • Wow... such clean kicks, what a lvl of control. I wish i could do an armada like that or such a perfect and fast rastreira... simply amazing...

But what rly blows my mind... is the kid that does S-dobrado and then Au helicoptero... OMFG... i didnt even know that was possible XD

  • It is, it was the way I first learned how to do a Helicoptero, very easy.

  • I'm so jelaous! I would kill to do that stuff but Im afraid of breaking my legs and neck

  • This is quite interesting actually, I watched a video where this was mentioned earlier, and I thought that these guys are physical adepts.

  • People saying this is like dancing are totally right and should look into the interesting history of the art. Angolan slaves brought to Brazil created the martial art under the façade of being a dance, when they were really training themselves for rebellion.

  • @ChrisBullock Much like eskrima for the philipines against the spainiards.

  • To69MrGemini: You are saying that because we brazilians can kick your butt and you are afraid to face one of us. I challenge you to say that in front of a brazilian fighter. Racist coward!

  • I love how when you see a capoeria sparring match they never actually touch each other so controled it's scary

  • Lol how is capoeria stupid? One of the most unique fighting styles in the world, the people who practice are have amazing balance and coordination. I'm hoping by your shit talk you can do something much better than what they can.

  • the guy on the rght at 1:28 messed up his orbit roundhouses haha the guy on the left was good tho

  • What is that song?

Brazil used a hiphop version of it in Battle of the year '08 when they started doing Capoiera!

  • guardando questi filmati di capoeria mi e sembrato di vedere pele dai ochi a mandorla perche loro dico che e un arte marziale ma che centra con il brasile la patria dell pallon

  • Muito legal....

    os movimentos...

    valeu

  • this is really nice! i love it!

  • This is more like breakdancing!

  • really flashy,it started off as a dance for god sakes. seems fun,but go learn a real fighting style if you need self defence

  • and you are WRONG it was developed by slaves. capoeria is an art and a defence. i know its flashy, i take hap ki do and i wana learn capoeria. its fairly effective and mostly fun. its like a celebration, your bodeys moving to the beat of the drums. this could help for self defence

  • You are half right, if you are referring to Capoeira and moving to the beat of the drum. You don't move to the beat as you would when dancing, it just helps determine the speed of the fight and the drum doesn't determine the speed, the berimbau does (the long bow the dudes holding at the start - sounds like a single guitar cord being munipulated).

  • Go Learn your facts before you tell people to "go learn something" . you are just another youtuber with an uninformed opinion.

  • People really are stupid! Especially you. Why even post an uneducated opinion on a subject when all you know is what a you heard from the mumur of conversating retards! An african slave named Mistre Bimba created Capoeira Angola and used it as an attacking/defensive form of martial art! There is documented evidence of him using capoeira against 6 or 7 armed enforcement officers disabling them all alone! Capoeira can be used as self defense aslong as it is learned and applied correctly!

  • Im not stupid, any fighting style that can convince people of being a dance, seems weak, and it makes sense that I say that.

  • OMG, I'm surprised you even thought it would be a good idea to reply still knowing nothing about Capoeira! It was an illegal fighting style for a rediculously long period, the only way people could get away with praticing it was to cover it up as a dance which Mistre Bimba hated! He made it his mission to have it recognised as a legalised Martial Art. It's taken decades for Capoeira to lose the "dance" label because of idiots like you! Therefore, your "sense" in replying was and is stupid!

  • im noticing these styles are the foundation for breakdancing, it's very interesting

  • Please, if I were a robber, and I saw one of those guys moving SOOOO FAST...I'm sorry but I'll give the thing a second thought. It's not for self defence? Can you REALLY see each movement of those guys? I DOUBT that you could stop a kick if they intend to cause you harm.

  • Your not a robber and most robbers are cowards. also that is very flashy and pretty,it looks complicated but wont work in the street, thats fighting 101 come talk to me after you have trained in allot of areas and have an opinion about Combat Sports and Martial arts. and 1 year of TKD doesnt count, use this in the street and tell me if it works, and it wont.

  • that looks like a great hobbie to learn but im on the heavy side(im over wieght gfro my age) and u need stamina and u have to be agile those are the things that I have trouble with =/

  • I am overweight myself but I love everything about Capoeira. I actually have a friend that weighs over 350 lbs. that can do an Au (cartwheel) and Ponte (bridge or backbend) better than the "fit" people in the class.

  • 0:45 is great!

  • falamansa, cala a boca. voces gringos sò consiguem falar e falar e falar. capoeira è nada do que voce sabe. vai aprender respeito, a base da capoeira. axxè baba,vc perobeiro

  • those little kids at 44 really kick ass

i cant wait to see how advanced theyll be when their older

  • I bet you sucks like really really bad.

  • Buen juego, buena cadencia, se parece mucho mas a la capoeira de bimba que a cualquier otra, pero!!! si el atabaque no se utiliza en el juego de capoeira regional...entonces que estan jugando???

  • you suck

  • que maloooooo

    sarobaaa

  • im am sooooo wanting to learn capoeria but i dont kno how much it costs or where to take classes or when to join if somone can help me with this please message me thnxs!!!

  • Just google Capoeria classes and it'll give you a listing of classes in a designated area...I was surprised to find classes close to me and I live in Wisconsin! As for cost, I dont know, I just found mine today.

  • there are places to learn capoeira in WI?

  • lots of energy great cardio you would need to be super fit to perform those moves .if you try to dance with them you will get hurt bad.dont dance close in and jam end the dance.

  • who ever thinks that capoeria is just afancy dance or that those guys telegraph all their moves just try sparing one of those guys that know what their doing i garuntee you stand still too long and they will kick your head off

  • lolll key phrase there is "stand still too long"

  • thats hot

  • The athleticism need for capoeria translates into all strikeing marital arts with certian advantages. However i find it a bit ridiculous that they think this would work in full contact. ONE slip and bam your toast flat on your face, and come on ... kickin in a hand stand REAllY

  • I have personally fought a capoerista in full contact. He was untouchable and kicked like a freaking mule. Don't discount it.

  • u have no idea....ive been in fights and ive owned guys that do boxing and karate and i have kick guys to the ground whilst doin handstands...

  • paranaue paranaaa(8) xD

  • thanks to all who replied my post my questions are answered and i'll shut up now :) lol

  • indeed it is not practical but what is besides Jujitsu? All of that striking...isn't really that practical..

  • if striking isn't practical,it should be abandoned in the mma fights

  • listen..anybody can throw a punch and a kick, the chances are in a real fight that with odds being very slim that you are gonna knock someone out. Not to many chuck Ladells out their. ground grapple is where it's at.

  • but if I use an eye gouge,i promise you he will be on the groung alright, holding his face screaming without the ability to see anymore

  • everybody enviorment is diffrent,I teach kali and jkd in the lower income areas to keep kids

an even adults out of trouble, the hood i grew up in.I have seen many dudes get knocked on thier butts, and most guys around here if they go to the ground they will stomp the other guy until he stops moving, but that is where i'm from,so think about that

  • dude I'm from da hood to aight, and I know the diffrence between a fight, an ass whippin and katz just jumping in on a fight cus their boy is getting his ass hole ripped out. I thought we where talking about typical one on one fights..not this pussy ass gang crap?

  • hey it is what it is.people don't fight fair,

it aint about chivalry and honor,it's about survival.you are obviously a good grappler, but man,you can't be bound by just that.I teach grappling in my classes as well,

every body you will face on the street will be diffrent i can guarentee that

  • I agree

  • Umm, its kind of arrogant of you to say jujitsu is the only thing that is practical.

every martial art is practical in some way or other, Kung-fu, taekwando, karate, muah thai.

I would argue the jeet kune do is the most practical martial art.

im currently taking jeet kune do, capoeira and tai chi.

  • DIG THIS HONEY BUNNY...On average most Random STREET FIGHTS! end up on the ground..It's highly unlikely for two guys to stand toe 2 toe and box.. Alot of grappling goes into man 2 man street fights now I do agree that the other martial arts are good for keeping distance away from you if your being attacked by multiple people but com'on dude the HUMAN Body is made of 80-90% WATER..It's made to absorb, now don't get me wrong you can get ur ass knocked out but it has to be a well placed connection.

  • if all fights end up on the ground, then wouldn't the best thing to learn be wrestling?

  • i disagree, tae kwon do seems highly unpractical as there is absolutely NO GROUND WORK OR PUNCHING and what kind of fight has neither? it doesn't teach disarming either. i have never heard of muah tai chi but i will look into it, secondly capoera doesn't seem that practical fighting wise: 1. it is mostly dance and arobatics 2. it is no contact 3. because of the preceeding there is not much if any grappling or punching

  • Mestre Barrao or his son Barrazinho would have something to say about that. They've both proven it in Capoeira competitions and MMA competitions. Besides, just look at the takedowns and reverse attacks at the beginning segment of this clip. Capoeira has great defenses against all types of kicks. There is also handwork and grappling. They just tend to be used by more experienced Capoeiristas.

  • how can you practice grappling with no contact...?

  • with grappling, you MUST make contact. You're not making any sense at all mate.

  • no your not making any sense... if capoeira is a NO CONTACT sport then how can advanced capoeirists use grappling?

  • No, the idea is to rather SHOW the opponent that they are open, than make contact when using KICKS. When you do takedowns, you must make contact to take them down. You don't knock people over with Qi pawas. Alternatively, you may just show them that they are vulnerable to takedown rather than follow through. This tends to be done more with beginners, because when you see advanced players, they get taken down hard.

  • cool thanks i am thinking of going to try a ccapoeira club to see if i want to join but i wasnt quite sure what it was coz there were so many mixed messages around lol there are even confusions in the spelling there are videos under capoera, capoeira and capoeria! and they're all the same thing cheers

  • *side note*

who said caopeira is a stirctly "no contact" \

    martial art?

we spar all the time and there is quite a bit of contact. Just because you don't make contact with your partner, doesn't mean you can't make contact in a actual sparring match or a "fight".

  • Well see the game is exactly that. Its a game. Its a play-fight, think chess. Say I kick, the other person dodges. Now say i fake a kick with my left and kick with my right, he dodges into my foot. But I make sure I dont actually kick him in the head, since I dont need to kick him to show him that he would have hurt himself. I "win" because ive tricked him and could have really hurt him.

Capoeira is Defense, Attack, Counter-Attack, and Malandragem (Trickiness/Sneakiness)

  • I am really curious about contact matches. I would see that they lose their powerful angular momentum if someone blocked, then they might be in trouble. However, I love to be proven wrong... good video.

  • c'mon

    CAPOEIRA*

  • Capoeria is really a fighting style that uses the feet for almost everything

  • no its not it is a real martial arts. look at the history. the style was disguised as a dance because at the time, any type of self defense was outlawed.

  • of course not..

you dont know the true history

  • tisk, tisk, it is a good offensive style..and even a better work out..

  • what is the songof this and dude capoeira did not steel break dancing neithor stole anything beides capoiera came first

  • Capoeria Is Brilliant Best Martial Art Fighting Ever Made Thats Why I Do It

  • Depends what you use your martial art for, in regards to self defense i disagree with you, martial arts like Muay Thai / Kickboxing, Ju Jit Su and Valé Tudo would be considered the best martial art, but in regards to sporting and sparring for fun, then yes i agree with you.

  • For Self Deffence i do Fan Zi plus a bit of Jun Fan

  • capoeira is so shit

  • why is capoeira shit? every style has its different attributes, but all are effective and great styles to learn.

  • uma merda que nem tu, babaca

  • u are shit

  • can't break dancing and capoeria be two seperate things? Why in your head must one have "stolen" it from another? THey were both developed thousands of miles apart by different cultures.

Is it so impossible to believe two seperate humans could have figured out how to move their bodies in similar fashions? :-/

  • Agreed; especially if you consider that the same groups of people came from the same areas...

  • is this angola

  • nice capoeira i love it its the best art of fighting but really break dancing
