every word in this game is like poetry lol It seems that after all of these years of playing this game I realize that obsidians staff really took the time to write such beautiful dialogue.
But all of you are wrong in at least one way. Yes, there are plot flaws, but not everything in the game will be canon. We have so many different possible outcomes for every class, there's no way the game is fully canon, though there will be a lot of linear stuff that will be true to the series. As for a KoTOR 3? I don't think we're going to get it, but we wont know for sure until the game is released. Until then, QUIT COMPLAINING.
I've taken a look at the MMO. Basicly, everyone follows a story independant of everyone elses story with game engines similar to ME 2 and you're even fully voiced. You get companions and can develop love interests as well as determine the outcome of your own story. Outside of that, it's a new style MMO with PvP and other gameplay. MMOs never did much for me, but The Old Republic? I'd say looks damn fun. Bioware knows what they're doing. I hope we find out what happened to Revan and the Exile.

I think this is male only so they might have different lines for females and males. and if you play your cards right she could become one of your compaions. Funny thing is that when you are about to kill her master he gives into hate to try and kill you. Also as a stih warrior you can look into a mirror and change yor force aligment.
Think about it people. As much as I would love KoTOR 3 SWTOR has something we likely wouldn't get in KoTOR 3. I Don't think they would make separate campaigns for each individual class like they do in SWTOR. In swtor you can play a jedi, a smuggler, a bounty hunter, a REAL sith and an imperial agent (my personal favorite). Kotor 3 would probably be like the other two games having you play the same ol' jedi/dark jedi story. I hope we are better off with swtor. Kotor 3 will never happen now

Like my friend has the beta and he has played teh sith warrior mission where you find revan. he says you kill HK and and then the next flashpoint you fight and kill revan. We all know HK linves until the age of the empire and revan became inmortal. So there are all ready flaws. Also he told the that there is a scene when a jedi is said to be strong in the force

Kotor 3 was canceled because of financial issues and yet TOR costs a shit load of money just for the CGI they've been spamming, Oh and Coruscant is supposed to be lager than all the areas in Kotor 1-2 including server costs, development etc etc.

@Vesacek With the money for the vanilla, the expansions to join in with the others, and optional equipment and mounts that require actual money. Then the monthly fee (ranging from five to fifteen dollars, varying what game) comes in.
@nejiharuno Equipment and mounts don't cost real money, unless you are buying from gold-sellers and that's your decision or playing game with microtransactions and SW:TOR won't have them. Microtransactions are sign of failed MMORPG that is trying to squeze as much as it can from customers. So money for vanilla are same like for any other game. And you get 1 free month which is more then normal games usually last. And then it's pocket money for monthly fee.
You do realize that a) KOTOR 3 was canceled by Lucas Arts before TOR was even thought of due to financial issues, such that KOTOR 3 would have never been made regardless if TOR was made or not, b) a successful MMO is much more profitable than a successful SRPG, and c) an MMO gives BW the opportunity to give a neverending story and literally unlimited replayability, correct? Bioware are going to great lengths to make it a very stroy driven MMO, the entire game is voiced in diolouge for a start and every class has its own uniques story. Can you hear it in her voice? passion, pain... That's why i played this game through only once as a sith (and with more influence with Visas). She ( Brianna - The Handmaiden) is the reason i keep playing with this game for several month now. I like her so much... Can't explain by words how i wish she was real.
I've played KotOR 2 multiple times and not once have I seen that just holding a lightsaber made the force power useless. I know that those who hold lightsabers are force-wielders and they have a much easier time resisting it though
No, the lightsabers have nothing to do with it. The only thing that would be resistant would be Traya, who would have to cancel her telekinetic lightsaber fighting in order to not get fried.
Except Traya would be too smart to directly face Sidious. No, she would use her words and her manipulations to defeat Sidious without the need to directly confront him at all.

That analogy is wrong, the jedi in the movies were weak because they never fought except for training. Even Luke who was raised to kill his father wasn't able to remain a jedi, he almost fell. It's more accurate to portray the jedi in the movies as Aetius or Aurelian who could barely hold Rome together while in Kotor the jedi are the clashes between the great powers such as Caesar and Pompey.
well, as that may be true, there are a few things you need to remember. 1. The jedi from more recent time periods are more on the connection side of the force (jacens time drift or ben's danger sense) while traya and revan were more on the attack side. (drain life force storm) 2. the more recent jedi are much better lightsaber duelists. Just look at yoda! 3. we never *really* saw what the jedi could do. All we saw is them getting slaughtered. If you look at the books, you see stronger stuff.

LOL alot of good it did him he lost that fight remember. I'm not the biggest Star Wars buff in world, but Yoda beating Revan? Come on... it's not going to happen. So much of the Jedi and Sith teachings have been lost that Jedi in Lukeskywalkers time pale so much in comparison to those that came a several centuries earlier.
I'm pretty sure that the Jedi from the prequels could handle the Sith from KOTOR. They were trained for that kind of war. That's why Sidious fought them indirectly instead of simply building a new Sith Empire with a bazillion Sith; it would be a retale of the New Sith Wars: Sith drive Jedi away from most of the Galaxy, break up and start fighting each other, Jedi gather their forces and defeat the divided Sith.
also, luke was never trained as a jedi in full. He never even became a jedi. He was taught to use a lightsaber and how to force jump. It took him many years to learn the true mysteries and powers of the force. Eveyone has their brush with the darkside now and again.

Infact, in one of the games (on the light side) star wars jedi academy i think it is, you go to korriban and defeat marka ragnos, so they are not as great as darth traya says they are on korriban. So i can conclude that crazy ass jedi spinning around and slicing through everything they see like in ROTS, could probably beat some guy shooting people with lightning. @kageromaru Wow I think I actually just encountered a fangirl. Luke spent a matter of hours with Obi Wan/Ben, and he spent a matter of days with yoda. It takes years- YEARS to correctly train a jedi. Yoda said that a well trained jedi knight with the force as his ally would be able to beat vader. This was not luke, but yoda underestimated just how weak vader had become. And besides, "fagakin" as you call him, would not have had much trouble with traya.

However, I am also anxious about the storyline and the ... "disturbance" caused by some gamers in a mmo. But I got pretty much convice to try it anyway, mostly because they promised a different progression in the story for each class, and they fully voiced their game.
There is more to be said, but better you check it out by yourself.
@Contevent The voicing is a good thing but many games were great with barely any voice acting. The space combat and all sounds good, as does the leveling, but I'm wondering about things like party and characters, like if they kill off Revan, I'd be pissed.

I'm more intrigued by the absence of the Exile. She is my fav character,, but none speaks of her...

Well, whatever anyway. The major thing I look for when the game will come out will be the quality of the storyline. If they keep up with Kotor, I'm in. (Plus there's the descendant of Revan on the light side ^^)
@Contevent Yeah, I watched a bit of the the Taris reveal and the Sith Warroir and I'm definitely going to check it out, but MMOs tend to lose the storyline and emotional ties that Bioware excels in.

Technically, it is only revealed that she is from Bastilla Shan. However, in the web comics, it is said that she was from a very particular ascedence, and therfor had to be watch carefully.
I don't think Bastilla would have had a child with anyone other than Revan (who is a male in the canonical version)

He is just butthurt console fanboy. It's way better to have MMORPG that will last for years, then single player game with 30-40 hours till you end it. Even with multiple playthrough you are hardly gonna get over 200hours, that's story of one of the 8 characters in SW:TOR and after that, there is still end game content.

@nejiharuno Equipment and mounts don't cost real money, unless you are buying from gold-sellers and that's your decision or playing game with microtransactions and SW:TOR won't have them. Microtransactions are sign of failed MMORPG that is trying to squeze as much as it can from customers. So money for vanilla are same like for any other game. And you get 1 free month which is more then normal games usually last. And then it's pocket money for monthly fee.

You do realize that a) KOTOR 3 was canceled by Lucas Arts before TOR was even thought of due to financial issues, such that KOTOR 3 would have never been made regardless if TOR was made or not, b) a successful MMO is much more profitable than a successful SRPG, and c) an MMO gives BW the opportunity to give a neverending story and literally unlimited replayability, correct? No story, no mature friends, "kill x monsters" or "run to location a to get item a and run to location b and deliver item a" quests, pay monthly the price you would pay to buy a new xbox game one time,etc. MMOs are cash cows and nothing more. Bioware are going to great lengths to make it a very stroy driven MMO, the entire game is voiced in diolouge for a start and every class has its own uniques story. No, the lightsabers have nothing to do with it. The only thing that would be resistant would be Traya, who would have to cancel her telekinetic lightsaber fighting in order to not get fried.

That analogy is wrong, the jedi in the movies were weak because they never fought except for training. Even Luke who was raised to kill his father wasn't able to remain a jedi, he almost fell. It's more accurate to portray the jedi in the movies as Aetius or Aurelian who could barely hold Rome together while in Kotor the jedi are the clashes between the great powers such as Caesar and Pompey.

well, as that may be true, there are a few things you need to remember. 1. The jedi from more recent time periods are more on the connection side of the force (jacens time drift or ben's danger sense) while traya and revan were more on the attack side. (drain life force storm) 2. the more recent jedi are much better lightsaber duelists. Just look at yoda! 3. we never *really* saw what the jedi could do. All we saw is them getting slaughtered. If you look at the books, you see stronger stuff.

I'm pretty sure that the Jedi from the prequels could handle the Sith from KOTOR. They were trained for that kind of war. That's why Sidious fought them indirectly instead of simply building a new Sith Empire with a bazillion Sith; it would be a retale of the New Sith Wars: Sith drive Jedi away from most of the Galaxy, break up and start fighting each other, Jedi gather their forces and defeat the divided Sith.

Infact, in one of the games (on the light side) star wars jedi academy i think it is, you go to korriban and defeat marka ragnos, so they are not as great as darth traya says they are on korriban. So i can conclude that crazy ass jedi spinning around and slicing through everything they see like in ROTS, could probably beat some guy shooting people with lightning. @kageromaru Wow I think I actually just encountered a fangirl. Luke spent a matter of hours with Obi Wan/Ben, and he spent a matter of days with yoda. It takes years- YEARS to correctly train a jedi. Yoda said that a well trained jedi knight with the force as his ally would be able to beat vader. This was not luke, but yoda underestimated just how weak vader had become. And besides, "fagakin" as you call him, would not have had much trouble with traya.

@Contevent Because ( I admit, I'm focuing on the negative, but I don't see much positive) I don't really want to play a game that costs loads of money, I look like I'm made from playdough, there is a huge amount of idiots who are obssessed with being the best at it, and has a horrible storyline.

@BleakandDead Well, about the money I guess you just have to wait long enough until some private servers offer it to you for free.
However, I am also anxious about the storyline and the ... "disturbance" caused by some gamers in a mmo. But I got pretty much convice to try it anyway, mostly because they promised a different progression in the story for each class, and they fully voiced their game.
There is more to be said, but better you check it out by yourself.

@Contevent The voicing is a good thing but many games were great with barely any voice acting. The space combat and all sounds good, as does the leveling, but I'm wondering about things like party and characters, like if they kill off Revan, I'd be pissed.

@BleakandDead About Revan, it seems we'll learn more about his fate after he left on KOTOR. However, he should be dead (it's 300 years after the mandalorian wars after all). Maybe in spirits...
I'm more intrigued by the absence of the Exile. She is my fav character,, but none speaks of her...

@Contevent The Exile is definitely dead. It was 300 years and of the two Revan would be the only able to survive that long. Plus, not much people care about her.

@BleakandDead Of course she's dead. But I would like to know how. She was a dead spot in the Force, She, more than Revan, could have a significant effect on the Force itself,
Well, whatever anyway. The major thing I look for when the game will come out will be the quality of the storyline. If they keep up with Kotor, I'm in. (Plus there's the descendant of Revan on the light side ^^)

@Contevent Yeah, I watched a bit of the the Taris reveal and the Sith Warroir and I'm definitely going to check it out, but MMOs tend to lose the storyline and emotional ties that Bioware excels in.

@BleakandDead The best way to check is to go on their web site, in the Holonet section. there is all the infos you need to make yourself an opinion.
Plus, somwhere, there a some kind of explanation from the conceptor of the game, but I can't find them...

@Contevent really? I did not know that :D. I knew that the dark side get a reven related mission but If I do get the game I will most definately play as light side jedi.......or shall I say Reven Junior :)

Technically, it is only revealed that she is from Bastilla Shan. However, in the web comics, it is said that she was from a very particular ascedence, and therfor had to be watch carefully.
I don't think Bastilla would have had a child with anyone other than Revan (who is a male in the canonical version)
