@kutterdoug I believe Ron Dante is the singer. He's the gentleman in the video and sang many Archie hits. Though Andy Kim was involved in the Archies, Dante is the lead on this one.

Everyone needs to remember that  "The Archies" were really studio musicians consisting of Ron Dante and Robin MacNamara among others. This was the hardest thing for children who were big fans of the show to believe.

Way back in ' 71 when I was eleven years old on a trip to the local record store my 6 year old sister bought this single, "Sugar, sugar", while I bought "Brown Sugar" by the Stones. My mom made me black out the name of the Stones flip side, "Bitch", with a crayon.

I never missed the THE ARCHIES cartoon everysaturday and sunday mornings when i was a kid!!!I was like 5 and still remember how much i loved it then,I can't believe it has been almost 36 yrs ago lol!

AMEN I feel the same way you do too, most music nowadays sucks, people don't write good songs that you can sing anymore, all you have to do to be a singer nowadays is have a crazy costume and marginal talent, example, Lady Ga Ga, Niki Minaj, Adam Lambert, Katy Perry, Rhiana the list goes on and on, They all are copy cats and have bad music. My favorite singer is Karen Carpenter, the BEST female singer EVER!

I used to LIVE for this song when I was about 11 years old. I would walk my dog Mugsy about 9 pm every night around a block in North Bergen NJ and carry a transistor radio WAITING for this song to play. Of course they played every half hour or so on WABC-AM back then. Good ol' Cousin Brucie. God I miss Jersey!

i was 9 yrs. old when this came out and the cartoon show was on every sat. morning. i can recall me and my friends wondering who the real archies were that sung the songs. if i recall right, no one back then knew who the real archies were or what they looked like. someone correct me if am wrong on this.if this is right , i give this band alot of credit for keeping there mouthes shut. that would be hard to do.have a big hit and everyone thinks your a cartoon. great song!
