You could do what I've done, you buy a survival kit then swap out all the things in it that you dont like. The whistle in mine was absolute crap so I put in a bosuns whistle and replaced the crap cardboard matches with waxed strike-anywhere matches. Works great.

Start listening at 02:34 and you can hear their feet hitting the ground. When you run in a group and are in step, its a pretty cool feeling!
