  • "Awesome! your doing good! were almost there!" LOL great tutorial but you don't have to dumb it down so much, if they're using these programs I'm guessing they're not 5 years old. I'm not trying to downplay your tutorial though, really great work!

  • Gotta love the inflection there xD. Pretty cool stuff. Subscribed :).

  • so nice thank u=)

  • very clear, and enthusiastic! Thanks a lot

  • I have one question, why do you make a half circle instead of a full one? thanks

  • @NachinDroga I want to know this too, if u find out tell me :)

  • @NachinDroga

I make a half circle because when you ues 3D revolve it takes the object and literally revolves it in 3d space to create your 3d object. So, when you continually revolve a half circle it will create a sphere. If you revolve a circle you will have a circle with a pit in the middle. Go ahead and try it out, create a 3D object out of a circle, and rotate it in the 3D dialogue box and see what shape you get. Its really fun to tou around with different revolved shapes.

  • BOOM! this is great heheh, thanks dude!!

  • he reminds me of steve from blue's clues.XD great tutorial bro

  • @pawlopascual Haha! Thanks! I think?

  • Queastion!!! After I've done all the steps and got the final shape, whenever I hover my mouse over it, randoms lines shows up??? I've used expand appearance and used white arrow tool to delete all the lines, but some are still left behind??

  • @junx2z Thats a real interesting problem. I havnt experienced that with creating 3d objects. You say they only appear when you hover the mouse over it? From what I hear without seeing a picture of the problem, It sounds like an artifacting problem to me, or your computers video card not properly displaying the 3d object. If it only appears when the mouse hovers over it, it doesn't sound like a problem to me since when its outputted to print or web they wouldn't show.

  • @danpgrady

do the lines still show up when you uncheck the "shade artwork" in the Map Art dialogue box?

  • With these tools I will rule the world!

  • Very cool effect. In all my years I haven't heard of it.

And I love how you talk to us like we're little kids :)

  • @BmoreStyles

haha! I guess that is a side effect from many years teaching kids.

  • VERY COOL TECHNIQUE

  • Omg this is EPIC!!! I want CS5 2 create sprite videos. I looked at your past video, and it helped! Thnx!

  • Thanks for the great comment! Illustrator is a great way to creat pixel artwork in full vector! If you import the art into such programs as Flash or After Effects you can great some great sprite videos looking like they are ripped directly from a NES. These things can also be created in older versions of the software as well, you can get a student version of the software you want from adobe.com at more than 70% off.
