Karl is a horrible coach he gets way to much credit he lost this series to us (Denver) not his team .... now he's in denver and nothing has changed evertime the nuggets get down in a game he just sits there does nothing and rubs the top of his head .. Karl is way overrated
I will always be a Nuggets fan! Every year i believe they will win the championship no matter what the record is. I belive in them and i know they will get a championship soon.
That Seattle team was so good, throughout the entire 90s, really. Payton, Kemp, Schrempf, Kendall Gill, Nate McMillan, Vin Baker (briefly). I'm not from Seattle, but I kinda wish they still had the Sonics.
@ozzy4ever666 Yeah I am a Spurs an, that Memphis team is tough! Spurs were never as good as their record I will admit and were a very weak #1 seed (LA was weak too as a #2), the West must have been really watered downt this year all in all for us to win 61 with that jump shooting team with little D! Record was very inflated for that older team, but hey it is history.
Anyone remember the next round? The Nuggets proved they were no fluke against the Jazz when they came back from down 0-3 to force game seven and lost by only four points in the end. To this day, it's still the closest any team has come to erasing a 0-3 deficit and claiming a series.
@TheDOLMET I think the reason the nba changed the format was because of what happen in this series, a 5 game set was actually a disadvantage to the 1st seed, a shorter series would allow a 8th seed the better chance to upset a 1 seed oppose to a 7 game set were the 8 seed would have to beat the 1 seed 4 times. but then again those sonics were notorious chokers, what happen here then the following season getting ousted by nick "cancun' van exel and the lakers in the second round (1-4).
Mutombo's defense and Denver's energy and effort at both ends of the court psychologically wore the Sonics down. Even returning home for Game 5 still couldn't help the Sonics regain their lost momentum. The same thing happened in the 2006 NBA Finals when Alonzo Mourning had a number of huge blocked shots in game 6 of that series and Dwyane Wade worked his magic at the offensive end which gave the Miami Heat their first championship. Once you find a way to slow any team down that's all it takes.
wow Seattle actually won the first 2 games and still lost the series..that is a upset but i still think the Warriors vs.Dallas in '07 was still a little harder because it was a seven game format.
I was 12 when this happened and still I'll never forget the scene of Dikembe laying on the court, death grip on the ball and having the biggest smile in the world.. and still to this day.. I've never seen anyone as happy as that..
@pimpino Manu ginobli after winning the title Game 7 2005 finals vs. Detroit..dude i've seen the footage your talking about but if you see this one you can almost feel how Excited and Happy Ginobli was after finally winning that really hard faught series he looked like the most happiest person in the world at that moment I think he was..lol it's even in a little part of the Finals intro every year in the NBA finals that's how memorable it is.
I was 12 when this happened and still I'll never forget the scene of Dikembe laying on the court, death grip on the ball and having the biggest smile in the world.. and still to this day.. I've never seen anyone as happy as that..
My Fav Team the Nuggets almost did that AGAIN against Utah IN THE SAME EXACT PLAYOFFS! They were trailing 3-0, came back 3-3 but lost unfortunately lost in Game 7
@KHDND it was a great effort by the Nuggets. if only they won the championship. that would be great in the future if a bad team won the championship. remember the 1981 Rockets & the 1999 Knicks. anything can happen in pro sports.
DrBryant24 dude, just what else can I say. Everyone considers themselves a basketball fan all study how you can dunk, I just not too long ago completed the training course at "50inch vertical (dot) com" - it's the best course there is (I m merely 5 7!)
Sorry, I am a newbie in the nba, but i need to ask a question. How come this series ended in a 3-2 match instead of maybe a 4-3 or 4-2? And another question, were all playoff matchups like this in the nineties eighties and seventies? Thanks for the help, and to answer my question, message me!
@KingbuumGuy Beginning in 1984, there were significant changes. The number of playoff teams was increased from 12 to 16, with all teams participating in a first round series, which was extended from a best of 3 to a best of 5. All other rounds were played as a best of 7. This was the format until the '05 playoffs, when the first round was changed to a best of 7. For more on the format prior to that, check out the wikipedia article on the NBA Playoffs.
YEP, All it takes is to win 1 game and that can completely turn the whole momentum around from that point on. On any given day or night any team can be beaten anywhere. IT'S ALL ABOUT HEART & DETERMINATION.
@dunkerTTT it was an exciting series. the NUGGETS almost defeated the JAZZ in the next round trailing 0-3 & forced it to a 7th game but lost. i would like to see a last place team win a championship. the ROCKETS of 1981 & the KNICKS of 1999 came the closest.
DrBryant24 I'm an awesome 5'7 black dude and I can easily dunk on 11 foot rims. Anybody can easily do it, just use the right training program. I followed the one at | 50 inch vertical [dot] com | but just about any training workout is good if they work (which many do not)
Denver Nuggets SHOCK the world in 1994 NBA Playoffs
Do any Sonic fans remember the Sonic Cynic? He was a Seattle sports fan who was calling regularly into the Fabulous Sports Babe on 950 KJR before this series, and even after the Sonics went up 2-0, predicting that the Nuggets would upset Seattle. The Sports Babe bet him the Sonics would. She ended up having to shave her head in defeat...
If the Thunder pull that off against the World Champion Lakers that would be Awesome. If they find a way to frustrate the Lakers mentally and take them out of their rythum it could Happen.
DrBryant24, damn this is crazy. That's coming from a guy who s 5 5 but can dunk with EASE. I followed the training program at (50 inch vertical [dot] com) and gained more than 15 inches on my vertical.
Denver Nuggets SHOCK the world in 1994 NBA Playoffs
DrBryant24, is 5 6, American and can dunk easily. what do you mean white guys can t jump? It s (just|simply|all)# about the training people do to get their jump to be high enough to dunk. For me, I just used the training program over at 50inch vertical[dot]com
DrBryant24 I'm 5 11 and I can do reverse 180 dunks. Truthfully, anyone can do it, just do the right workouts with the right nutrition. I personally recommend the workout program at 50 inch vertical (dot) com but any workout could be used if you know they generate results
Denver Nuggets SHOCK the world in 1994 NBA Playoffs
So my basketball teammate DrBryant24 just told me how he started dunking, he s shorter than me, he s only 5 6 but jumps over 9 inches higher! What he took the workout over at (50 inch vertical [dot] com) and gained over 15 inches in his vertical jump!
Denver Nuggets SHOCK the world in 1994 NBA Playoffs
Once you find a way to slow them down, you will have them right in the palm of your hands. That's all it TAKES. The 2006 Miami Heat will tell you that!!!
DrBryant24 I'm only 5 9 and I dunk in my highschool team games. I m in my school's varsity team and my dunking intrigues everyone (the girls haha). It was seriously really easy, I just used the unique workout over at (50 inch vertical [dot] com) - anyone can do it

as a rockets fan i went nuts when this happened. The Rockets could not beat the Sonics that season and to see them lose in the 1st round was just huge.
Interesting to see two arenas that don't exist in the NBA. Seattle Center Coliseum became Key Arena and now the Supersonics are in Oklahoma City. McNichols Sports Arena with its unusual sounding horn, was demolished a few years back,
What's with the NFL Films music in this clip? I thought this was an NBA video.
Hey Utahjazzfan04, explain to me how the 2nd seed in the west sucks, Id really like to know how you think the nuggets suck while they are one of the best teams in the NBA.
Ever since this triumphant moment, I always rooted for Denver when they played the Sonics every game and I still root for Denver when they play the Thunder.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I made a sick joke about this.I said that Dkembe's mom was in the audience with her voodoo dolls. She kept poking them as Seattle tried to shoot. The reason why the Jazz won 3 in a row is because they got wise& kiddnapped her but she got away and the series was tied. Then they kidnapped her again & without her voodoo dolls Denver's luck finally ran out. After that they let her go.
DENVER NUGGETS RULE!!!!! THEY R THE BEST!!!!! CARMELO ANTHONY RULES AND ALLEN IVERSON 2!!!!!!! but its sad that they traded him. but at least we got billups
I remember being at that game 5 in the old coliseum. Lots of no goaltending calls! We got gipped! You can hear a pin drop after it was over. What a sad day it was!
I fucking hate the Fakers, but I don't believe shit about you guys now. You should have stepped aside and let Golden State embarrass the Fakers in first round.
the only thing that denver need to be the best of the best is a good center beause marcus camby its a very stupid man in the paint he always scores 6 o 4 points every wining team has a good center, lakers, spurs, orlando, phoenix, and in this video they show it dikembe mutombo and if youy think teh lakers without shaq or gasol = pooooor team, so denver hasn't a decent center but it has ALLEN IVERSON AND CARMELO ANTOHTY EVERYTHIGS POSIBBLE DONT STOP BELIEVING!!!!!!!!!!
Calm down. Even when Nuggets lose in first round, at least they will lose to the 2008 NBA champions just like they lost to the Spurs last year in the first round, so it ain't that bad.
denver sucks, ai n carmelo = two guys that need the ball and need to dribble. No ball movement and absolutely no defense. Bring out the broom. denver get's sweeped 4-0. go lakers!
bitch fuck u ur retarted allen and melo are the best team mates in the fucken NBA!! and they were both on the top 5 scorers so shut the fuck up if u say they suck dumb bitch and fuck the lakers
top 5 scorers.. who the fuck cares. they r selfish n don;t play defense. they don't their other plyrs going offensively. wonder why ai is not on the olmypic..hmmmm dribbles too much shoots too much...defense what defense? melo n ai suck monkey balls. play some defense u monkeys.
you motherfucker why does all comentators say allen iverson a legend ?? the best guard ever ?? defense ?? ai doesn't have to defense he is 6 feet dude he is the best guard ever better than kobe for sure en why ai is not an olympic ?? beceause nike was the head sponser en ai is reebok you know ?? so shut the fuck up
i'm sure that that might change esp. with EMPHASIS on defense for melo. they are NOT selfish players. watch the games. think about it, and get your facts straight
Karl is a horrible coach he gets way to much credit he lost this series to us (Denver) not his team .... now he's in denver and nothing has changed evertime the nuggets get down in a game he just sits there does nothing and rubs the top of his head .. Karl is way overrated

as a rockets fan i went nuts when this happened. The Rockets could not beat the Sonics that season and to see them lose in the 1st round was just huge.

i guess mutombo helped his future team lol.
liweiwu007 2 years ago 4
I used to have this game on tape.... Its long lost now.
I went crazy when the Nuggets won lol
Mutombo had 8 blocks in game 5.
Man does not fly in da house of Mutombo.

i dont consider the knicks beatin the heat an upset cuz that season was cut short to 50 games, so it wasn't an upset. this was an upset.
Yoootravez 2 years ago
the heat was 33-17 and the knicks were 28-22. and those teams were evenly matched. the warriors beating dallas in 07 was an upset.

Great video.

And now this season the Nuggets are finally starting to look really good again. GO NUGGETS!

Hey Utahjazzfan04, explain to me how the 2nd seed in the west sucks, Id really like to know how you think the nuggets suck while they are one of the best teams in the NBA.

The biggest upset in NBA History..... .... ...
Was The #8 Seeded Golden State Warriors defeating the #1 Seeded Dallas Mavericks .... ....
Because that was a best of seven series
not a simple best of five series

top three moments in the NBA:
1) Denver Nuggets defeating Supersonics in 1994 Playoffs First Round
2) New York Knicks defeating the Miami Heat in 1999 Playoffs First Round
3) Golden State Warriors defeating the Dallas Mavericks in 2007 Playoffs First Round
its always fun to watch the eight seeded team beating the living crap out of the first seeded team

They were lucky that Jordan was retired and Seattle melted down in the first round -- they owned Houston back then.

Ever since this triumphant moment, I always rooted for Denver when they played the Sonics every game and I still root for Denver when they play the Thunder.

Actually, your joke is not funny at all...

I fucking hate the Fakers, but I don't believe shit about you guys now. You should have stepped aside and let Golden State embarrass the Fakers in first round.

lakersforlif3 3 years ago
the only thing that denver need to be the best of the best is a good center beause marcus camby its a very stupid man in the paint he always scores 6 o 4 points every wining team has a good center, lakers, spurs, orlando, phoenix, and in this video they show it dikembe mutombo and if youy think teh lakers without shaq or gasol = pooooor team, so denver hasn't a decent center but it has ALLEN IVERSON AND CARMELO ANTOHTY EVERYTHIGS POSIBBLE DONT STOP BELIEVING!!!!!!!!!!
Stroke007 3 years ago
Calm down. Even when Nuggets lose in first round, at least they will lose to the 2008 NBA champions just like they lost to the Spurs last year in the first round, so it ain't that bad.
dwaynewadesucks 3 years ago
denver sucks, ai n carmelo = two guys that need the ball and need to dribble. No ball movement and absolutely no defense. Bring out the broom. denver get's sweeped 4-0. go lakers!

bball4eva71 3 years ago

the3answer3iverson 3 years ago
i'm sure that that might change esp. with EMPHASIS on defense for melo. they are NOT selfish players. watch the games. think about it, and get your facts straight
