Gotta love the old game play style. I was totaly hooked as kid on the snes version. (played sneaky at night haha). I remember then that ghost followed me all over on the third floor i think and i had no idea how to kill it. Jees it scared me each freaking time if i tried to hide/sleep some where.
this brings me back to 92-93 (not sure) when i was playing dm on my pc with friend for whole 2-3 weeks about 12hrs a day. solving puzzles, looking for secret rooms, killing monsters, training our party to MON Master level and have so much fun as never after.
@tralalak4444 If you really loved those games, you ought to look up Legend of Grimrock. it's an indie game coming out early 2012. It's an oldschool style dungeon crawler, just with updated graphics. Looks pretty awesome.
@vid512 No plans. Actually, I haven't played it even once, ever. DM1 was OK to play a few times, but I wasn't quite fond of the looks of the game. The story of CSB lags behind that of DM1 and DM2 as well, I think (not that I remember any of it now:) ).
wow, i used to play this game on the amiga 500 when i was 10 or 11 years old. i had completely forgotten about it. i remember at the time the graphics and sound seemed amazing to me, as was the ability to throw objects around. i remember now that on the first level i used to pick up tons of clubs and torches just so i could throw them at enemies for fun.
This is both soooo neat and puny at the same time! I can't believe I once considered the gfx of it for relatively good :'-] the same goes with the sound and the final animation. but, it was 1987 when this game was made, so... respect.
I used to fight with Lord Chaos for few hours, not smacking him up like this guy :]
My first experience with Dungeon Master was with the TG-16 version, Theron's Quest. I know that takes away some of my DOS cred, but it's the truth. Though I did go back and play CSB as well as Dungeon Master 2 (Both on PC and SCD)
Long story short: Great games. I used to toy around with the DMjava game maker too. Made a really sweet Dungeon Master game where I tried my best to incorporate a plot through clever scroll placement.

I used to play this at primary school.
It was the first game I ever played.
I thought it was the most awesome thing since running water was invented.
