i dident read the description so not sure why people are saying millions xD, i extremly doubt a server by itself being able to hold millions of players :/ the technology is not there we are not capable of reaching a number like that especially in 1 battle its extremly over estimated but there could easily be millions of players logged on through 100s of different servers but not related servers xD but thats not the same thing, and i doubt millions of people will be logged on at once

If anything Halo copied Verant... The design concept for the Magrider hasn't changed at all since 1997 when Tanarus was first released... the first Halo came out in 2001... 4 years after the Magrider already existed.

@Bags159SC if you look up vids of the original planetside during its glory days, maybe (but that will be thousands and you will only see one battle out of many that will be going on at once in a large world) and the reason they say millions is because it will be F2P now, plus there are a lot more people playing video games now.

Can't show you millions, looks to be a 900 player cap on each continent (300 per faction). Bear in mind that each 'server' in the original planetside had... what was it, 10 continents all interconnected? That's a theoretical maximum of 9,000 players fighting with another 900 sat waiting for an orbital drop. (There were 3 'safe havens', occupied only by one empire each, from which you could do an orbital drop anywhere on the planet).

The current design brings to mind a number of other games, movies, and pretty much anything (that I can remember) related to science fiction. Such as Battlestar Galactica, and even Starcraft (the upcoming expansion).

Calling it Free to Play is a bit misleading, imo. i would call it a micro-transaction game. You pay to get bling and customization. Micro trans games tend to get people to spend more than they would on a subscription based game.

You could pay nothing, but the game will likely make want to buy. Buying stuff would keep the game alive, so it's a good idea to throw them some money. i plan to spend about $5 per month.
