  • This thing is very bulky, do not move it ever. The cord is heavy and puts tons of strain on the power port. The screen is vulnerable to damage if you close the top and have dust on your keyboard or anything.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAH i have one of this brutal laptop

  • my HDX 18 is sucking so bad it started out being slow in the first start up (i have never seen anything like it) then suddently the media smart (fancy touch panels where you turn up the sound ect.) then my cam started to fuck... and now well... it just sux...

  • go to hp's website. they have a WAY better computer now for like 50$ more. It's got a core i7. I unfortunately bought the 18t right before it came out :(

  • It's under the high performance category.

  • @MasterGunnerOO1

Same here. I got it literally about 2-3 months before HP decided to discontinue them. Got the Quad Core version of the HDX18t. Still love it, though. Upgraded mine to 8GB of RAM.

  • HP Pavilion HDX18-1277ez

    Procesor: Core2Duo 2.5 GHz

Grafická karta : nVidia GeForce 2048 MB +TV Tuner

    WiFi, bluetooth

    Display: 18.4" 1920 x 1080

    (RAM): 4096 MB

    (HDD): 500 GB

  • paid 2000 dollars for mine straight from hp

  • Let me rephrase that, it does have playback to its 100%. Meaning it can play games like Crysis very well.

  • Although this laptop is gorgeous, but it cannot handle high resolution games like Crysis at its100%.

  • I have the hdx 16t. The screen and keyboard hit and you get mark on the screen and keyboard see my video here on you tube.

  • anyone tried to play crysis in max settings using this laptop? how many fps?

  • I bought my cousin this laptop for his birthday. It's great. I wish I would've bought myself one as well (lol), but I have an Alienware laptop which is better atm.

  • and were did u get it? i can only find 2.5 prcceser i need a little higher

  • The keyboards keys suck for gaming on hard core first person shooters! 8lbs? Ahahah

  • I just bought mine for $1200 on ebay

    500GB 7200 RPM Hardrive

Nvidia Geforce 9600 GT 512 MB

    4GB DDR 2 Memory RAM

    1920x1080p Resolution

The retail price is over $2000 for that.

  • no not rlly whats the procceser?

  • i bought one with the same specs for $750. gotta look out for coupons and deals

  • i just got same rig, October 12th, for $958 Including tax, had a coupon.

  • go on ecy i can buy it for around 900

  • my dream laptop

  • I just got the 2.66 core 2 duo 4GB DDR3 and 1gb 130M video card, it runs great. I just hope HP is a reliable company and the thing actually keeps working like it should :O

Cost me $200 less then my old Dell XPS desktop, and it's specs are better in every way. Nice, huh.

  • also, the graphics card they are using is the lower grade one, the more expencive 1gb GT 130M works better

  • I just ordered the 3.06. I hope it fast... Gonna do some video editing for SDE wedding stuff.

  • you just got a horrible model IMO. When you get a brand new one I don't think you'll still rant like that

  • im looking for a good gaming laptop,

but i've seen so many laptops the past weeks that i just dont know what to pick anymore

i wanna play games like crysis full blast

i wanna spend 1700 max, i hope someone can help me out

  • i would say this computer

    hp hdx 18T

    OR

    HP 17'' DV7

both are great for gaming i have the dv7

  • the Dv7 does not have a damn backlighted keyboard option which is a dealbreaker for me

  • haha, youll never be able too mate. something that can play crysis at full blast will set you back at least 3000 and thats the bare minimum. if yo uspend 1700 on customising this laptop you mayget something that can play crysis at medium settings fairly well. dispite what everyone says they novelty of playing crysis at full power gets boring and its not an amazing game anyway. id save up a little more, maybe say $2300 and but a well customized version off this with lots of RAm and decent CPU...

  • well, i kinda used it as a standard lol :P

what i want is run aion full blast but its not that known yet

just check out the vids on here, you'll kinda get the idea how powerfull this game is :p

either way,i'm still keeping my eyes out

i wont buy anything untill winblows 7 is out tho :B

  • aion is not a very graphics entensive game, its only slightly getter than WoW in my opinion. Check out Oblivion TES4 and Fallout 3. Those 2 games both look absloubtly amazing but arnt as stupidly detailed at crysis...

  • and i'm european,so i meant euro's :p

wich is around 2300 dollars(from the top of my head :B)

  • in that case, yo ucant get it anyway mate. to customize it well enough to play crysis decently you have to order it online in the US :D

  • not sure about laptops. but for desktops you can play crysis on max settings for about 1400-1600$ american.

for laptop you would probly need something like the new alienware 18x which you might beable to run crysis on high at about 2200$ or you could continue customizing and have one of the greatest laptops ever for around 3000$. i think if you put everything to max it goes up to about 5000$.

just customized mine online and it will be about 3300$. little pricey so but it will be beast

  • You dont understand, AA3 (antialliasing) thats full game graphics andcan only be accieved by reduculously expencive PCs. no laptop would ever come near. Even Sager ones

  • cont. then you should be able to play crysis at medium to high graphics at a decent framerate. you really dont need to run crysis at any higher than low settings to have fun, and goign up to antiiasing 3 is just stupid and can only be done by $6000 gaming rigs... you need to read up on things before you post, you dont just "play games like crysis full blast." thx :D

  • top review dave mate, thanks

  • We put together a site just for this Bad Boy!

HPHDX(dot)net. I am rageman on there!

I have and LOVE this laptop!!

  • looks prety good, not for gaming do :P

  • hi i recently ordered this laptop with custom configs and i was just wondering if i made the better decision for gaming by choosing the q9000 quad 2.0ghz processor over the t9550 dual 2.66 ghz. and also if my quad will still run crysis because the system requirements say nothing about a quad system

  • I was under the impression that 32 bit OS couldn't recognize more than 3GB of RAM?

  • Technically, you are correct but that doesn't mean you won't see a 4GB configuration shipped with a 32-bit OS.

  • im getting this even though i will need portability for my classes (im buying it for college). Its a big fat boss laptop, it will eat the baby macbooks that it sees in lecteur halls

  • Can you adjust the volume using only one hand/finger on this? On the pc I have now I have to use both hands, left on Fn button and right on F10-F12 to adjust and it is very annoying and inconvinient.

  • Does it come with the small remote (not the Tv tuner) that can comes out of the side?

  • Really? How so? It's built with solid system components and mechanical design. We had a good experience with it.

  • Could you tell me the name of the song playing on the computer at around 2:50? Thanks

  • That's "Keep on Rockin Me Baby" by Steve Miller Band

  • Hi , any idea why they dont show the 2.8gz option in the HP webpage?, thanks!

  • HP doesn't seem to be offering that option now I see. We're not sure why but the price should scale a bit lower with the lower clock speed processors.

  • they just added a 3.06ghz option

  • i want the 16 inch one

  • why? you get more for your money with the bigger one.

  • yea but i need something small, i like it cuz its big and i would buy it but i move around a lot and i need something portable
