I saw the film last week (not a good print) and I thought that it all felt rushed. Everything is introduced quickly and then we move on to something else. I don't know if the film was underwritten or deliberately paced at breakneck speed. It just doesn't feel very substantial or distinctive as a result.

The great depression brought out the worse in some americans we had people like al capone, verne miller, and john dillinger. The trailer for this looked cool! The production values were impressive (Stallone said at the time that this was the biggest movie project he ever worked on) and it had a good cast - Rob Schneider being the exception! Yet when I watched the film, I was disappointed. A lousy script and bad direction wasted what could have been a really good film. It's just another ploy from the studios to get our attention.

A future fascist America. The vision first created by the 2000AD comic in the 70s was totally nightmarish. Considering the way the country is going this film is ripe for a new darker makeover much like the Batman films have now been improved. This film was good, but cheesy at times too often wasted by bad dialogue. Stallone was good in the part though. His helmet should have stayed on at least until he was sentanced. Jerry Goldsmith wrote the music for this trailer but sadly not the film itself.
