you dont need to learn by ear, its something that comes to you if you are talented, just learn how to play an instrument and listen to something, when you dont notice it you will know all the sounds, but is like loving the music, you have to know about your instrument and your kind of sounds, good luck and my respect to the piano player im claping for your art.
