This must be virtually days before or after the Lulu show appearance, its seems the tensions both musical and personal which caused the band to split were unfortunate as I feel their playing at this point had reached great heights and was yet to peak. There seemed to be a tightness & maturity about the band in this period which was lost due to the split for whatever reason

PORTLAND, Ore.  Mitch Mitchell, drummer for the legendary Jimi Hendrix Experience of the 1960s and the group's last surviving member, was found dead in his hotel room early Wednesday Nov12-08. He was 61.The Englishman had been drumming for the Experience Hendrix Tour, which performed Friday in Portland. It was the last stop on the West Coast part of the tour.RIP Mitch

fuckin ace drummer...perfect for jimi's style...he is so looked over coz he was playing alot in jimis shadow but without mitch i dont think the experience would be as good as it was...he really does add somethin unlike noel...

Jimi knew what Mitch was capable off. They where close and got along together. Mitch worked on some songs and albums after Jimi dead.The relation with Noel was totally different.

mitch did solo often,but in official releases and most bootlegs it was mostly cut out as if it was to nobody's interest.all concerts had a mitch moment, sometimes palnnen sometimes more or less spontaniously when guitars needed mending...(or like isle of wight, pants were torn)

MITCH was just a GIFTED kid when he 'hooked-up' w/Jimi in Fall '66...maybe 17? Jimi didn't have to think long to grab him! - Chas already 'hooked it all up!' Nice thing about Mitch (who's still alive!) is that he, for the most part, was ALWAYS by Jimi's side to the end, thru 'thick & thin'...a true Friend! Where as Noel turned-out to be pretty-much of a self-serving 'money-grubbing' hoe...
