my old car had the same problem with temp dropping while driving. The problem was the hose comming of the water pump was disintegrated.

That cat cracks me up!!!! Could be the sensor for your temp gauge, ive seen them have wiring issues and cause that. Dont forget the carb cleaner! LOL, I started keeping cans of it on the shelf cause I always forget it!

Gas in Canada when you do the exchange rates is cheap! $1.22 CAD is $1.20 USD,

Gas is $3.29 here so it's $3.34 CAD.

@dave11686 yeah but we pay 1.22 a liter...you pay 3.29 a gallon. it takes roughly 3.78L to make 1 gallon. after the math is all said and done we are getting hosed at $4.60 a gallon for gas man. Trust me...you have cheaper gas by far. Canada is just dickered for fuel.

If your temp gauge is jumping around you need to have your car check. It could be as bad as the head gasket, or as simple as your thermostat, but you need it checked.

@talfacprez it wasn't like floping around like a flounder...just jumping from 95 down to 85 and back up...like the needle was moving around a bit but I figured it was either the thermostat opening or just the fact that its friggin super cold out.

Might want to shelve the G6 for a couple of days and use the TA for a bit while you gather parts or take it to a garage to sort out the G6, wouldn't want you breaking down on the highway... :S

Sounds like your thermostat is dicked if temps are rising and lowering while driving. That would explain the low coolant too if it's stuck open/closed.

Have you sorted the problem with your Rad? Have you checked the gasket on the expansion tank top? They do fail, I had a few fail on me. Check it out first before anything else. I made a video about it checking around for a top for a G6 in your area.

Use a thin bristle off an old brush to poke the jets out in the carburettor, or similar.

ram the cleaner down every jet and hole you can see.

To help starting, take the sparkplug out and clean it then warm the electrode end with your cooker ring or cigarette lighter, put the engine on choke if it has it.

When you get it going, keep it running for 5-10 mins to drive any damp out :-)
