  • There really are no words to some up the work of this man. He is a genius and he makes me proud to be Scottish.

For those unfamiliar with his work.... please listen to: Craig Armstrong - This Love (ft Liz Frazer), another great Scottish musician/singer. Unreal!

(the title of the song is "Weather storm"

from the collection piano works by Craig Armstrong

"finding beauty' - one of the most beautiful pieces I have heard - close to 'emmanuel' played by chris botti & violinist marcielle (sp?) I am a torch/jazz singer and am drawn to music that takes you in to your most sensitive and vulnerable spirit/heart.

  • I haven't ever (or have never - I never know - I'm Frensh) the film but the song is more than beautiful. It's strange: it's between frensh and japaneese song (to my mind), but it's wonderful !

    ::

  • I remember falling in love with this version of Weather storm. It`s just fantastic:)

I started learning it right away and I ran into trouble at first but I got over it. Just dont give up fellows;) And I`m a classical pianist so I`m not got at improvisation..

  • perfect balance in music, playing, mood, lightning, motion and pictures

  • And it has a perfect balance in sound and silence. As a piano player I often tend to play to fast.

  • Semplicemente stupenda...

  • just for clarification.....is this piece a medley of material on the album, or a performance of one song?..thanks in advance:)

  • it's a full on song by itself... titled "weather storm"

  • thanks brolic.

  • Though this is a piano version, theres an orchestral accompaniment version aswell

  • Love this

  • Just incredible. I've to buy the song book.

  • i just can't stand it.

it's too much, it's too beautiful, it's too everything.

  • Craig is my hero...

  • Very Nice :) I love it :)

  • i may attempt to learn this piece...its so nice. will be very hard though

  • Yeah. I've been playing piano for 15 or so years and bought the book. I tried to play "Weather Storm" but the beginning just comes out as a mess instead of something really cool.

I definitely can't improvise as well as Craig. Ugh. So jealous!

  • Is the beginning noted as an improvisation? Actually I want to buy the book as well, especially for this song. But I've far less playing experience than you have so I think I'll have some more trouble. Anyway I think it's a matter of technique.

Oh, and excuse my quirky English ... :)

  • It is notated in the beginning with 32nd notes, but it's written as "quasi ad-lib" so you don't need to follow the notes directly as written but just the notes in the chords.

I agree; I think it's a technical thing too. And your English is fine! Nothin' quirky about it. :)

  • Thanks for the information. I just ordered the song book.

    Again thank you Craig

  • Craig Armstrong is the man to go to for deep music.

  • This piece is an absolute pleasure to play - for those who want to know the main section roughly: it's D in the bass (octave), and the chord is a Fm7+8 (i.e. play these notes: F,A,C,E & F) the melody is easy to work out.

  • I adore all Craig's Armstrong's piano works-eminently +!

  • This is one of the things to live for

  • If I had spent an entire day trying to figure out how to put my thoughts down, I couldn't have come up with a better expression than that. Respect.

  • some people know how to touch the piano keys, magnificant!

  • Craig is my favourite modern day composer by far. I don't think there is anyone in this day and age writing music like his.

  • Check greg maroney, you might like him as well ;P
