My friends and I recently recorded a song called "Nylon Whale" and we would really love if you took the time to check it out! We sort of have a similar vibe to Cloud Nothings! Thanks and God Bless!
To all the kids my age asking where our indie rock scene/identity is on all those old videos of Radiohead and stuff: keep your eye on Cloud Nothings, I've got a feeling their just the beginning of the return of indie rock bands that can actually "rock"
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
this song is so depressing. the guy can't sing. THIS IS SHIT. no wonder all of the depressed scene and emo and hipster people listen to this. probably why they're so fucked up.
This is late 80s DIY rock upgraded for 2012... Amazing how few bands embrace this kind of sound. What an album!!! Its only Feb 2 - but I have to think that this album is going to prove one of the best made in 2012
The kind of "post-hardcore" i'm fond of (like fugazi, unwound, cap n jazz), i hope it's going to inspirate new bands because i can't stand the dream pop and other indie stuff band anymore
@joostcanters No problem with that don't worry, i also take a look at their highest rates sometime, i just don't like that certain people tend to like something only because pitchfork do, sorry to say that to you because it is certainly not your case
@EmphaticallyJack No shit, their self-titled was a nice little pop record with some nice little songs on it. This album is a fucking beast with seven heads and horns and it breathes fire and smells like fucking pancakes and wears flannel and watches fucking ice road truckers. What am I talking about?
holy fuck this is terrible. im not saying they should have stuck with what they did before, im all for changing sound and experimenting, but this is god awful. so are the other new tracks ive heard.

@ColorfulHyena I heard Slint on midwestern college radio 7 years ago. The station had no Dj's, so I never knew who they were. I soon as I read your comment, I knew that was them. 7 years later, thank you.
The expansion and maturation of this band's sound over the past couple years has been so exciting. If this opening track is any indication, they're gonna knock it out of the park with this new record.

If you don't like this guy's voice, I recommend Josh Groban or Michael Buble.

daharper125 1 month ago
@xTheOxx this music doesn't have balls. it's my favorite release of 2012 so far, but its not aggressive or edgy. try early Swans if you want that

I'm going to let you win this pissing contest.
