I love this song and many of his other hits. He is unique and truly a great artist and to think that "The inspiration to play the blues followed an incident involving a "politically correct" teacher who wanted to tear one of his essays into pieces in front of the whole class. They both ended up tugging at his exercise book across the desk and he was subsequently expelled from school. (from V2 Records webpage). Christ you know it aint easy.

After 25 years I finally went to see Chris live in Edinburgh, I was a little worried how he would sound as he was very ill some years ago and is still and will be for life on medication. Absolutely amazing live. Fantastic musician and a proffessional showman, sounds even better now. Luckily going to see him again next March. If you ever get chance 'don't miss it'. Took my 21 year old twin daughters and they're fans too now. Good music is timeless and crosses generations.

There are very few artists who can make the guitar gently weep like him & put so much heat & feeling into it & his/her voice. Chris Rea did it really perfect, I love his records/cd's, they are my favourite ones. Today he's got more the blues but the commercial tracks are still the best! Affter 30 years his records are still evergreens & let everybody escape to paradise and/or to a dream!
