I know a lot about waylon I know he did coke and pills but I wonder if he smoked weed Cu's I can just picture him and Willie Rollin down the road smoking a joint and jammin
Ol hoss in his prime I'm thinking 74-75ish the gangs all there Moon on steel Richie on drums and a host of others I was a baby when ol Waylon was livin it up like nobody else could or would even try ol Waylon and Moon are together again the other morning I was walking out to my truck and I coulda sworn I heard the intro to " tonight the bottle let me down " playing somewhere off in the distance God Bless Waylon and Ralph
waylon was a raw dog musician.. ..the first one to say hell with the oprey! He called his own shots, never needed an agent, just a secratary to do the books. RIP my brother...you paved the way for the country we have today!
This is a perfect example of what Rodney Crowell meant, when he said that Waylon was the first person in country music to "get funky with it". Somehow, no matter how rock n' roll, bluesy, or whatever he did, the country boy in his guitar playing and vocals, and that back beat by Ritchie, and Mooney's steel kept it country.
