@schneiderlover You should find the recent interview, where she talks about a lush reunion and why it's not going to happen. She says: who would want to see an aging gray woman who still hasn't lost the fat from her last pregnancies. And yes she works in an office now, as an editor, as one of the unrecognisable thousands there.
@girlie347 well, if I were her, I would just lose the weight and dye my hair :p
This isn't about age or appearance, it's about how you want to live life. Oh well... it's a bit unfair, this self-deconstruction, because if she were David Guilmour, she would still be playing. Or if she were crazy like Brigitte Fontaine (from France) who is nearly 70 and still singing and writing songs and doesn't give a squat.
This is from a 1992 programme called The Junction which was broadcast from a club in Cambridge. This was the first of two songs broadcast, the second was For Love (as they were promoting that e.p. at the time...Astronaut and Starlust are incredible from that e.p., saw Curve in the same year and Starlust was played through the P.A. before the show started!)
The lead singer is so off key and flat it is painful. She looks like ronald mcdonald with the neon red hair and the striped shirt.
The studio recordings are some of the most beautiful music i have heard, I regret checking out these live versions. By the way emma is way prettier and at least she sings on key live
Yes the singer is very asian looking. Is that bad? Some people begged to differ then others wants asian babys like deigner bags. I dare you married a asian dude, double, triple dared you..
Interesting! Yes, I DO love this band, but I would be the first to say that technical perfection in live performances is not what they were about. I've seen other shows where Miki's voice breaks really badly, and she just starts laughing. In interviews she was always putting down her own singing. I think that's one of the things that made Lush so cool, there were free of egos and attitudes.
Exquisite. They were very unique.

It seems the band was featuring Steve on bass, so this programmed was recorded before 1992. He left he band in December '91.

Half-CAUCASIAN. Hungarians aren't a race.
One can't be half-Jewish either.

What happens if you honour every other Sabbath day and keep it holy? Only joking - I presume you are Jewish if your mum is Jewish, and that's it.

Lush. I miss them. This is one of my favourite songs.

from 1991. I remember seeing this. Miki leaves the stage in a bit of a drama, throwing down her guitar at the end of the song.
vodkaanddry 3 years ago
Wow, that doesn't sound like Miki! Do you remember what caused her to throw down her guitar?
LushRemembered 3 years ago
Sound in the studio was appalling. And she sang this rather badly. As much as you love them, vocally this is well below their usual standard.

It seems she wouldn't warm her voice before singing (unlike... Kim Deal), that's why...

Seems like an early version... I know better live performances of "Sweetness And Light".
