  • The Parkway! I remember that place.

  • Do you think Californians need to make some sacrifices to pay their $50 Billion tax debt?

  • So sad I will miss it as well!

  • If there is a 'market" for what this business offered, then Im sure someone will look into opening something like it one day.

    But Im not sure,

I mean look at the way it reads on paper-

    cheap tickets,

not a lot of seating, non-first run movies,

and lots of staff spending lots of time walking to people to hand them beer and food....

I just dont think I could get a loan if I told the bank that idea for a business.

  • a bailout?

We want to start a program where we bailout a movie theater?

So the guy down the street who owns a XXX porno theater can get a check too?

(Because if he cant that's not fair right?)

And down the line it goes...the vinyl LP store asks for a bailout?

The VHS, and 8-Track store get a bailout?

Im all for helping business get up and running, but I dont think we should try to save a business like a newspaper of movie hall that has passed its time due to our advancing society

  • I know it hurts at the time to watch a place where we have had fun shut its doors.

many summer camps for kids along the lakes near here have sold out and are now split up into home lots.

It's a hard fact of life, but the earth has turned and things have to keep up or get left behind.

Single-screen Movie theaters are passing away, like the drive-in movie place.

They will be missed by a few of us who remember, but we too are passing away.

  • Everyone has to pay their rent...

One of the hard facts of life in business is that many times for a new place to open a older place has to close.

We all can think of places where we used to love to go and eat or go and swim, or places like this where it was a great way to watch a movie, but are closed now.

How many mom&pop stores close every day due to Walmart?

It hurts when they close, but there is not much to be done about it.

  • Well....I mean I don't have a record player anymore....

I don't have an 8-track tape player anymore....

and its not that my records got too old, or my 8-track player didn't work anymore...

    But time moves on.

Movie theaters like this one are being killed off by YouTube and the Internet.

People are not getting into the car and going all the way across town to see something entertaining when they can have as much fun sitting with their laptop at home.
