The consideration of weight is an excellent point. Didn't realize how much it was to carry a fully loaded G19 (and two mags) until I strapped the belt. I'm a hefty guy but that's still a lot of bulk to lug around daily.
i want the right to carry..but the last thing i ever want to do is shoot anybody...If i could carry i would use my Taurus 9mm millennium and use only ammo my local law enforcement uses...you start using more deadly ammo and a lawyer could use that against you in court
@snumfalzumpa If the shooter can handle the more potent 40 caliber - sure! However, I know some that do better and are much more comfortable with a 9mm. So the 40 isn't an option for them.....
@600rrScionTc Good - that was my intention. Hope it provided some basic info to get you thinking. So start researching and try a few pistols if you can before buying.
Here's the deal. the only thing that makes us all equal in regards to a criminal vs a victim, is a gun. Its the right of anyone to carry a gun to defend themselves from being victimized in my opinion. I dont care if you live in the hood or the 'burbs. If you want to be safe, you should carry a gun and get a CCW. The police do not come quickly enough when there is a problem. They are too busy dealing with other things to arrive at your problem spot to save you from harm.
@ryanishereyay123 Bad guys are everywhere - even in the UK as we've seen with the recent riots.
You never know what situation you'll be in. Having a CC license provides a person with the capability to protect their family and self. Hopefully you never need it, but in case you do, it should allow you to defend yourself and get assistance. Or it can help you defend another person if they are attacked by some bad guys.
@nashi55 i suppose, but in america there is a lot more serious crime than the UK. so while you guys might feel the need to have guns because of the rate of crime in america, us in the UK dont feel like we need guns because there is hardly any serious crime at all. but it all depends on where you live, if you live in london, there is more of a need for protection but where i live in the countryside, they really are not needed at all.
@ryanishereyay123 It's the same in the US - rural areas have less crime and the big cities have more, just like the uk. Small towns have much lower crimes rates - but a person may live in one area and work in another. The US crime rates have dropped a lot over the last few years, just as the number of CC permit holders has increased.
@nashi55 actually in comparison small towns are more dangerous then bigger cities in terms of rates becuase of population if 2 people out of 100,000 people are effected by violent crime compared to 20 out of a city of 1,000,000 or even 200 out of one mill will yes be more but percentage wise it is actually safer in a bigger city haha as i was taught in the police acadamy we are to be nice and always hope for the best but have a plan to kill them all and be prepared for the worst
@snowmofrk13 I'm no expert....but based on the data I've read the big cities have a higher rate than the suburban areas do. It's lower now, so instead of being triple the rate it's now closer to double, but it is still a higher rate.
@ryanishereyay123 because we are free to...its part of are feedom that is part of our country...and by doing so it guarntees those feedoms that are important...feedom of fire arms guarntees all other fedoms
@ryanishereyay123 Having a gun usually deters criminals from even committing the crime because the fact that they know an armed citizen could blow their brains out, they gain some common sense and don't commit the crime. It also depends where you live. The boonies in Alabama is obviously a lot less dangerous than the streets of Chicago or Atlanta, or even Compton.
@ryanishereyay123 The 2nd Amendment to the Bill of Rights is not a needs based amendment. It is simply a recognition of a preexisting natural right of self defense and a commandment against government not to infringe upon this inherent right of the people. No one is compelling Americans to own firearms. Its all about having the freedom of choice whether or not to own, carry and use guns.
I work in downtown Kansas City where there were over 110 homocides during 2011...hell I even heard one happen about a month ago... Disarming the citizens would only disarm the good ones. Besides having guns is part of the Constitution and that's not some archaic custom it has it's use even today.
@ryanishereyay123 "so why would you need it?" You hope you don't need it. But better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Food for thought, there are people out there who owe their lives to private citizens who just so happened to be carrying when the shit hit the fan.
what kind of holster would you recommend for a i guess a smith&wesson sigma 9mm for concealed carry with no jacket or over shirt just a t shirt untucked and semi baggy pants???
@nashi55 thanks man, i have an inside the wiast band from pro-tech i ordered it of of ebay but i dont really care for it, its ok but i think im going to order a leather iwb from ebay its made by tagua leathers, i want a blackhawk serpa but i think it would be hard to conceal, i just order a mag case from black hawk n i love it
Larger caliber are nice not in the city you touch it off even goes near an innocent bystander you never carrying again why carry anything but a 22 or a 25 cal
In Aug of 2011 I received a CCW from Michigan... I'm a snow bird in Florida, when not traveling for my job, and the Michigan permit is allowed in most states in the union. My son who is a State Trooper talked me into getting one and he bought me a .38...
A .22 all you need I've got all 9mm 40 and a 45 and in the end all these gun the bullets going though if you hit an innocent bystander you going to jail end of story
@blkwulff thats why you get a good ammunition, typically the kind that LEO's use. Such as Winchester Ranger T's, Federal HST's, Remington Golden Sabers and Speer Gold dots. .22 is good, so long as you destroy the CNS or shoot him in the heart.
you really plan on carrying a deagle in ur waistband??? wtf u stupid the dam thing wuld fall down ur pants leg, prolly go off nd blow ur dam foot off dumbass so go ahead nd carry a .50 cal pistol
I'm very new to guns. I really like the Glocks, especially the G17 and G18. I was wondering about calibers, if a Glock 17 or 18 can shoot 9mm because it is the easiest to fire and find. Not a .22, I like 9mm's much better.
@TheCaptainAlmight131 it depends on what the firearm is going to be used for. If your a beginner learning how to shoot many shooting instructors advise you get a .22 caliber in order to just get a feel for the ergonomics of a pistol and getting a decent sight picture. If your buying one for self defense/concealed carry you will need somthing with more stopping power like a 9mm. Personally for cc I like .38 caliber rounds. they have the same amount of powder as a 9mm but a slightly smaller round.
@TheCaptainAlmight131 Pick a caliber you can shoot well for your first gun. Learn to shoot it well and then work your way up to what you feel like you would feel comfortable carrying. .22 is a great learner gun and it's super cheap to help you stay in practice. (you will still have to shoot your carry gun, 9mm or whatever, just not as much).
I regularly carry the FNP-9 IWB. In the summer, there some issues with print, but I have modified my holster a bit to make the handle angle up my spine to lessen the chance of it being spotted. I'm in AZ, so CC is not regulated and is common. I've never been hassled. The accuracy and ergonomics are awesome. Some people have trouble with the decocker, but I shoot thumbs forward with no problems. 1000+ rounds, no issues. Some may want a more compact pistol, but I love this gun.
I'm only 17, so I can't get a carry permit yet, but I think my choice would probably be a snubnose .38 revolver. I guess maybe a glock or something could be a better choice, but I honestly just like the feel of the revolver and that I know every time I pull that trigger, it's gonna go boom.
hi. im thinking about getting my CHL but i have had friends tell me that they would rather not carry a glock because they have no conventional safeties. instead they have a double trigger mechanism and they are more suited for law enforcement. what is your opinion on that?
@asianfoodface It's an issue to consider - I'd say just make sure the holster you get always secures the trigger. Glocks have great reputations, so it has that going for it. Practice practice and practice....make sure you know how to handle and shoot it safely. Take a course if you can. Rent some before buying if possible....
Also something to consider. If you are forced into a situation where you have to draw your weapon on someone( hopefully you never are) you dont want to have to go through many steps to stop a threat. That gun your carrying needs to be drawn and ready to rock. I duck hunt and many time I go to shoot a duck and forget to take off the safety. God forbide I ever am involved in a circumstance where I have to drawn my weapon on someone and forget to engage safety. 1 reason why police use them
@ajlepisto thats true but if I ever had to use my concealed carry (God forbid) then I wouldn't want to have to pull the slide back in order to arm it before I shoot.
@asianfoodface Yeah, some people don't feel safe like that...but if you train it, it's possible. It's better to feel comfortable with your weapon than to be "fast" or "do it right."
At the end of the day, you're using a tool to save your life. If you need to use it a certain way to be more effective, more power to you.
@nongmin88 well with respect to the trigger it is of a different design. I think glocks use a striker mechanism while revolvers are hammers. Basically when the gun is armed with a round in the chamber, a glock has no real way of disarming the striker to make it "safe". Also if your thinking of concealed carry, glocks have double stack mags which makes them a bit more bulky and uncomfortable to wear.
@auradud3 well if your carrying concealed you really want a round in the chamber. I not that's just one more thing you have to do if you ever have to pull the gun on someone. The bad guy is not gonna wait for you to rack the slide back.
@asianfoodface that is exactly why i recommended the MIC, I have a vid showing my LCR with a MIC. the original MIC's were created for the GLOCK's, you can find them by googling " MIC holsters,
I personally would use the glock. Conceal carry is really close so barrel and size needs to be small. Hammerless is one more thing to not get caught on when drawing. My opinion.
i had a glock 26 but traded it because even with the extended mag it was just hard to draw and handle. i'm not saying it is a bad gun. it just didn't work for me. i carry a Beretta 96 compact and love it.
@Davidautofull actually for a concealed carry a .38 would be better. If you had to use your weapon (God forbid) on someone you want to stop the person with the least amount of rounds. .22s will make a person bleed to death and cause internal damage but the effects are slower. I actually prefer a .38 cause it has the same amount of powder in the cartridge and is only slightly smaller than a 9mm, therefore transfering more kinetic energy into the round.
Great Video: I have been caring a Taurus PT 709 for about 6 months and I carry it everyday. I am so used to it I forget I have it on and it conceals really well I just sod it as of 04/03/2011 and i purchased a Taurus PT 740 Exact same gun in size and weight Just a bigger Calibur. That Is what I had found that works for me becuse i'm not a small guy so a full size gun will not do except in Winter months when I have a Jacket on.The TCP and LCP are to small and no external saftys.
I like the Ruger LC9 for carry, and the Ruger SR9C for home defense, but that is just me . I like the 9mm for every purpose just in different size firearms.
I notice that all the pistols in this video use double-stack magazines. Obviously that's going to mean a wider pistol. What would you have to say about something along the lines of an m1911a1 in 4 inches, which obviously has the single-stack mag and is significantly more narrow? I don't think you can necessarily compare it to that huge FNP you had there at the start. The only similarity is in the .45 ACP ammo.
@MeanEyedCats I'm just trying to get everyone to think about the size & weight before buying. These are just what i have, but some want a full size DS 45. Sure a SS style would be narrower and might be a better choice for some guys. Nothing wrong with a 1911 at all - esp a scaled down version that's better for cc.
Being 7'2" my Glock 20 hides rather well on my left hip. Anything smaller and I don't feel like Im holding it all that well, I have rather large hands. Even the G20 with the full back-strap and and extra padding for the grip and it still is slightly small, but better.
Two types auto and The first in personal protection with integrated lasers, the Smith & Wesson BODYGUARD is uniquely engineered as the most state-of-the-art, concealable and accurate personal protection possible. Lightweight, simple to use and featuring integrated laser sights – nothing protects like a BODYGUARD. Get one and carry more confidently, walk more confidently.
A full size pistol, As not a thing to do with concealed carry. Sub is a concealed carry.
So is their a holsters out their,For full size pistol that say for concealed carry.no
You are doing a good job,But your taking about concealed carry. Full size pistols have not a thing to do with it. Mid and small pistol. And the judge and the s&w Governor. That is a rock to carry for most people.
im looking into a ccw permit but my hadgun is a 500 s&w magnum with the 8 3/8 barrel so the concealing part is kinda out of the question. whats the rules regarding how concealed a weapon would have to be.
@FrankVirginia87 Typically 'concealed' means that the weapon is not obviously observable without material being removed. The advice that i have is to avoid the extremes on frame size. Get something at least big enough to fit your hand, but if its too big it becomes a liability instead of an asset. Caliber, start with the largest you can handle, then if you dont like the magazine capacity, back down on the caliber. But start big, and work your way down.
@FrankVirginia87 If you plan to carry around a 500mag as your carry gun you're an idiot, get off our side! Its people like you that give the anti-gun people the ammunition they seek. A 500 mag, really? It's a hunting pistol not a carry gun, the fact that you would even consider this screams you're not ready to carry.
Love the guns bro. Glock 26 is def. a great CCW. I carry the Glock 27. It is about as thick as I want. It does depend on how large a person you are. You can be heavy set so a full size gun might conceal very well for you. You maybe 6.8, so a Glock 19, 23, or 32 maybe the right choice. It is all subjective. Great vid.
@tradernorton05 When u r talking self defense, u r talking about a high stress situation. In a high stress situation u need 2 remove as many variables as u can. A manual external safety that has 2 b turned on or off in order for the weapon 2 work is a huge variable. I recommend a weapon with no manual safety. If you choose 2 carry a weapon with a safety, go 2 the range with a buddy, have them turn your safety on or off so u dnt kno which it is, and put it in your holster. Draw, fire 2 rounds.
@tradernorton05 You will discover that the safety is a huge variable and a pain in the butt to deal with. Remember, safeties fail. Your finger is the ultimate safety. As far as chambered rounds, carry it chambered. The weapon isnt going to go off unless you pull the trigger. I dont know a single cop that walks around with an unchambered weapon. An unchambered weapon means more training at the range, an extra variable, and an extra step between me and stopping the threat. Good luck.
Please people 380 is crap. Ask a reloader, loading a tiny 90 grain bullet in the case will turn you right off a 380. You cant protect anything if you dont PRACTISE.
if you want to carry a 45 get the 1911 model its thinner then the model in the video and i carry a taurus 45 pt 1911 with a 5 inch barrel i carry it in a black hawk inside hip holster i highly recommend this set up
I've never liked revolvers, but there isn't anything wrong with them.
Automatics are lighter and have a higher magazine capacity. Only needing one round is ideal (aside from not having to use it), however a high magazine capacity is like insurance.
I would like to carry an FN-Five seveN and have the FNP-45 for my bedside table.
im thing about getting my handgun, and im looking for something thats cheap(ish) to shoot, easy to carry, as well as the gun it self is fair priced, so im thing of something along the lines of a 9mm or 380, what are your thoughts on this?
@chevyon37s well,9mm is cheaper and more powerful;but a .380 is more concealable!look around and feel out some pistols so you can decide,as you will have to carry it almost all day long!hope this helps!remember ,your best gun is the one on you!
I bought a Ruger Sp101 revolver in 327 magnum because I thought it looked small enough for concealed carry. It's a nice, very solid revolver but it's too heavy so I went back to my Keltec .380.
@spec4657 Thanks.... Yep we're all going to react differently in that sitaution. Few of us have enough training to perform flawless, so an auto makes sense to me. We all need to practice more.
@MrCdravenmad Do you carry it with just one rd in it? I doubt it, because you might need more than one! Agreed, nobody should need 19. More rds gives you extra safety in case you miss. In a highly stressful encounter, most guys can miss at least once. Even pros are not perfect under very difficult conditions. Nothing wrong with a revolver,,,every pistol/caliber has strengths and weaknesses. As you said "should" is the key word, you never know what situation you'll be in.
@nashi55 What kind of situations does one get into to be needed to carry a firearm every day? Are you in lawenforcement? Do people feel unsafe? Or is it for sport? Please forgive me for the number of perhaps silly questions, I am from Europe and I am trying to find out how or why one needs to posess firearms other than because of the constitution.
@KeOsism Yes it starts from there, but you never know what situation you'll be in. Having a CC license provides a person with the capability to protect their family and self. Hopefully you never need it, but in case you do, it should allow you to defend yourself and get assistance. Or it can help you defend another person if they are attacked by some bad guys.
@nashi55 Thank you for your reply. Does this mean that having this license you also have rules of engagement? I can't help to think of the bad guys using the system to do harm, though one is put through screening behore they can actually get a license, I guess.
@KeOsism well sir i`am sorry for you,but let me try to answer your question!first, carrying a firearm is a duty set forth by our constitution for every american legally able to do so!no one here in america feels unsafe enough that they feel they have to carry a gun.compare it to needing a knife to cut a rope that has ensnared you.without the knife you wouldn`t have the tool to cut the rope when needed!also let me ask you if you trust your government enough that you expect them to protect you?
@bobsolla Thank you for your answer sir, though there is no need to feel sorry for me. I feel there is a great difference between the knife for the rope and the firearm situation. Is it truly the most efficient tool to get the job done? And perhaps it would be better to prevend oneself to be ensnared by the rope? There are several ways for a government to protect their citizens. Firearms are illegal by law in my country and I think that's a good way of protection to begin with.
@KeOsism Well, here is the reason why, articulated by some one much wiser than me: "LAWS that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson - "Commonplace Book." (Passage from Cesare Beccaria)
@glocky2 Thank you for your explanation. I can understand that it's slightly more difficult than it sounds. I am trying to figure out why one needs to have firearms like the ones that are used by the military and lawenforcement (full auto, assault rifles, etc), instead of 'regular' pistols and revolvers.
@KeOsism Its the Same Concept as being CPR Certified...You hope you never have to be in the situation to administer CPR as a civilian.. but you have the knowledge and training just in case
It is a matter of what kind of person you are and what kind of society you live in, or want to live in. Someone who legally carries a firearm, whether in law enforcement or not, is taking personal responsibility for defending themselves and others. It's a life choice to accept that as a citizen you are responsible for defending your community and other members in it from those who would do harm.
I agree that a small pistol is better for concealed carry. It doesn't matter if you have a cannon if you don't have it when you need it. So get something you WILL carry. Anyone can carry a sub compact small frame in a pocket holster but not everyone is able to carry in a shoulder, hip or in the waist band holster. A lot of factors including where you work, your job, how you dress, etc. play a role. You need something that works for you ALL THE TIME.
I'm going to blow the lid off this popsicle stand....
You can conceal carry a large frame auto all day, every day and not even know it's there.
Sure you can carry a small gun, but you can also carry a large frame auto with no problems...
I carry a 92FS all day in an authentic beretta shoulder holster and i can't even feel it. I also carry it on my hip in a Serpa holster all day and it's all just fine.
The whole world has gone GAY and everyone thinks you need a tiny gun to carry.
@ihaveairlockers Didn't say it you couldn't carry a large pistol. I just wanted guys to think about their situation - it is something to consider before buying. They need to research and find the pistol that has the right size, capacity, and caliber for them. They should have a plan on how they can carry and conceal it, whether it's large or small.
I agree with everything you said. My comments were directed at the audience and not really to you :o)
I just wanted to give my opinion and let people know that they CAN carry a full size auto all day in comfort. The reason i made these comments was simply because SO many copy others and just repeat what they say without thinking or experience. Like i said, I agree with you, i just want the world to know that it is a myth that you can't carry a full size auto :o)
@ihaveairlockers Okay...wasn't sure! That's what the comments are for - so glad you did!! Sounds like your setup works great and carrying a FS pistol isn't an issue. Yep some say it can't be done, but as you say it is possible with a plan and the right gear. Thanks!
Mate, I have no idea. I'm not an expert with every pistol on the market. I only carry and use a 92FS and I use an authentic beretta shoulder holster or a Blackhawk Serpa Holster.
I've never heard of the gun you have, because I am not that experienced with lots of other guns.
Merry Xmas and Happy new year to you and family :o)
@ihaveairlockers I have a 1911 Springfield, a Browning Hi power plus some others but for my EDC I prefer my XD-40 sub compact. I am 5'6" and the .40 works very good for me. I don't know if you would classify the sub compact a tiny gun or not.
i had to buy 5 guns before i found one that could conceal well and be comfortable. i carry the glock 26 90% of the time and the ruger lcp 10% b/c sometimes the G 26 is to big but the ruger lcp can be concealed even in a speedo lol
@FullmetalAlchemist78 Check the laws of your state. That will tell you what is required to get a CC permit. If it's allowed, you pay the fees and you pass the checks...then it's not crazy.
If your state allows CCW permit, get a Kel-Tec P3AT with Pow 'r Ball rounds, 7 round clip, DeSantis Nemesis holster, and Crimson Trace laser sight. Lightest weight and will not pull down your "draws." Chamber the bitch first if going to bad areas. Oh yeah, put 500 rounds of Winchester White Box ammo through her first to break in, then reliability is as good as the expensive guys. Keep her clean and shoot 50 rounds of cheap range ammo every six months, and you will be fine.
@isisncasey Thanks for the reply, just got it Jan. 29. The ones you mentioned are way bigger and it's usually real hot here and we are wearing cargo shorts and t-shirts, so like the light weight and convenience. We aren't prepared for firefights like cops etc.
I used one of these amazing Glock 26 guns during operations in the middle east. The good thing about them is that they can be quickly hidden up the anus in the event of being captured..and obviously withdrawn again at a later time to aid an escape mission.
im 18 and i was wondering what are the laws when carry guns because some people say i can have it in the car but cant have the clip or bullets in or next to the gun and can i buy from stores or private sellers if so are there any good forums that u would recommend thanks.
@millznicebeast You need to check out your state laws. CC laws vary so much by state, what is legal in one may not be okay in another. Start with the NRA web site...it's pretty good for law research.
@arckangel2087 My intention was to let guys know the weight simply as a guide. They have to carry it everyday, all day, plus the ammo & holster. It's a heavier pistol and may not be suitable for everyone. It you are not concerned about that, then carry a 45 acp, or a 44 mag - whatever you want. Guys I have talked too have bought a smaller pistol after trying to a carry a larger one, it's a compromise but one we all have to decide on.
@arckangel2087 So you are saying a 9mm won't stop a big dog? Don't underestimate the 9mm - I think it will prevent an attack. It's cetainly not the most powerful cartridge, but is a nice all around rd for a cc pistol. As long as you can hit the target, it will stop him.
My primary carry is a Taurus pt-145. 10+1 .45acp. My alternate is the Glock 26, 10+1 9mm. If anyone is looking for a very small, very reliable gun on a budget, look at the Kel-tec p-11. I have heard only good about this gun, and for $250 bucks, you can spend the savings on ammo and get some practice. Thats funny, the g26, with mag extension, and holster. EXACTLY the way I carry mine. Blackhawk size 4 holster. Neat thing about my two guns, a holster for one, works for the other too.
you should find a gun that's comfortable to shoot. Nothing beats getting a gun for carry because it's small, doesn't really fit your hands, etc. then when you use it you blunder and that gives the badguy the second needed to plug you instead.
i carry a glock 19. i'm a skinny dude and it's easier to conceal than something bigger. carry what's comfortable. get licensed, get proficient and trained, and carry . lot's of debate about round size, but use what's comfortable for u.
Hum, I thought I made a comment here already. Well anyway, do not forget mouse guns as well. I carry the Kel-tec P3AT myself. It is really easy to carry, and there are even smaller that would be easier to carry. You are, however, giving up a lot of power and abilty to shot it well when you go that small, but it is far better then nothing.
I would carry the FNP-45 if I get my concealed carry permit. It's heavy, but if I ever need a concealed weapon, I will be glad I didn't carry a 9x19mm simply because it's easier. The .45 ACP is the only handgun cartridge I will feel confident trusting my life with.
@icantafford If that's what you want to carry - okay. One of the points I make is that you'll have a harder time hiding it due to it's size and weight. Smaller pistol is easier to carry everyday - I have have found that out through personal experience as others have too. FNP-45 will certainly stop an attacker - but it's too big in my opinion to carry concealed every day. Where / how will hou hide it in the spring & summer? Won't fit in a pocket and will bulge out from under most shirts.
@icantafford BTW: If you want stopping power why not pick a 357 or 44 Magnum? Not strong enough for you? Your making the compromise I mentioned in the vid - picking a pistol with less stopping power, that is easier to hide, but with more rds - 45 acp compared to a 44 mag.
I still think a smaller pistol in 9mm is best all around choice for most people. Easier to hide, manageable recoil, 8-12 rds, & good stopping power w/ ball or HP.
If your plan is to CC a FNP-45 everyday - good luck!!
@nashi55 Of course I'm compromising, I never said I wasn't. I just beleive the 9mm is not capable of stoppng an attacking person/animal on the first shot unless you hit a vital spot (a hard thing to do with a handgun under pressure, when you only have a couple seconds to take your shot).
In hot weather, when clothes are lighter, you might be forced to downgrade. But it's still better than nothing. But I would make every effort to get the most stopping power possible in my CC
@icantafford We all compromise, just saying your FNP-45 rule is hard to follow yr rd, that's all. Anything less than 9mm is too light for me, but as you say, would be better than nothing. If you want 45acp a smaller pistol might be better if you can deal with more recoil from a light gun. G26 seemed gd choice for cc. Based on the test I've seen, 9mm will be fine. Don't have to drop attacker in 1st shot, just prevent him attacking me. Average person when hit by a 9mm, should stop or slow down.
The consideration of weight is an excellent point. Didn't realize how much it was to carry a fully loaded G19 (and two mags) until I strapped the belt. I'm a hefty guy but that's still a lot of bulk to lug around daily.

i would recommend a g 27 over the 26, more firepower and it's the same gun....
snumfalzumpa 3 weeks ago
@snumfalzumpa If the shooter can handle the more potent 40 caliber - sure! However, I know some that do better and are much more comfortable with a 9mm. So the 40 isn't an option for them.....

@nashi55 good point!

They are too busy dealing with other things to arrive at your problem spot to save you from harm.

or you just simply don't carry guns. we dont need them in the UK so why do you americans need it?
ryanishereyay123 3 months ago
@ryanishereyay123 Bad guys are everywhere - even in the UK as we've seen with the recent riots.
You never know what situation you'll be in. Having a CC license provides a person with the capability to protect their family and self. Hopefully you never need it, but in case you do, it should allow you to defend yourself and get assistance. Or it can help you defend another person if they are attacked by some bad guys.
nashi55 3 months ago 7
@nashi55 i suppose, but in america there is a lot more serious crime than the UK. so while you guys might feel the need to have guns because of the rate of crime in america, us in the UK dont feel like we need guns because there is hardly any serious crime at all. but it all depends on where you live, if you live in london, there is more of a need for protection but where i live in the countryside, they really are not needed at all.
ryanishereyay123 3 months ago
@ryanishereyay123 It's the same in the US - rural areas have less crime and the big cities have more, just like the uk. Small towns have much lower crimes rates - but a person may live in one area and work in another. The US crime rates have dropped a lot over the last few years, just as the number of CC permit holders has increased.
nashi55 3 months ago
@nashi55 actually in comparison small towns are more dangerous then bigger cities in terms of rates becuase of population if 2 people out of 100,000 people are effected by violent crime compared to 20 out of a city of 1,000,000 or even 200 out of one mill will yes be more but percentage wise it is actually safer in a bigger city haha as i was taught in the police acadamy we are to be nice and always hope for the best but have a plan to kill them all and be prepared for the worst
snowmofrk13 3 months ago
@snowmofrk13 I'm no expert....but based on the data I've read the big cities have a higher rate than the suburban areas do. It's lower now, so instead of being triple the rate it's now closer to double, but it is still a higher rate.
nashi55 3 months ago
@ryanishereyay123 actually statistics prove crime, violent and otherwise, are alot higher percentage wise in the UK.

767dag 3 months ago
@ryanishereyay123 Having a gun usually deters criminals from even committing the crime because the fact that they know an armed citizen could blow their brains out, they gain some common sense and don't commit the crime. It also depends where you live. The boonies in Alabama is obviously a lot less dangerous than the streets of Chicago or Atlanta, or even Compton.
Blakmajik4 2 months ago
@ryanishereyay123 The 2nd Amendment to the Bill of Rights is not a needs based amendment. It is simply a recognition of a preexisting natural right of self defense and a commandment against government not to infringe upon this inherent right of the people. No one is compelling Americans to own firearms. Its all about having the freedom of choice whether or not to own, carry and use guns.
FaganRoberts 2 months ago
I work in downtown Kansas City where there were over 110 homocides during 2011...hell I even heard one happen about a month ago... Disarming the citizens would only disarm the good ones. Besides having guns is part of the Constitution and that's not some archaic custom it has it's use even today.
rizzzo311 1 month ago
@ryanishereyay123 "so why would you need it?" You hope you don't need it. But better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Food for thought, there are people out there who owe their lives to private citizens who just so happened to be carrying when the shit hit the fan.

@blkwulff thats why you get a good ammunition, typically the kind that LEO's use. Such as Winchester Ranger T's, Federal HST's, Remington Golden Sabers and Speer Gold dots. .22 is good, so long as you destroy the CNS or shoot him in the heart.

1s1ksniper1 6 months ago
I'm very new to guns. I really like the Glocks, especially the G17 and G18. I was wondering about calibers, if a Glock 17 or 18 can shoot 9mm because it is the easiest to fire and find. Not a .22, I like 9mm's much better.
TheCaptainAlmight131 6 months ago
@TheCaptainAlmight131 it depends on what the firearm is going to be used for. If your a beginner learning how to shoot many shooting instructors advise you get a .22 caliber in order to just get a feel for the ergonomics of a pistol and getting a decent sight picture. If your buying one for self defense/concealed carry you will need somthing with more stopping power like a 9mm. Personally for cc I like .38 caliber rounds. they have the same amount of powder as a 9mm but a slightly smaller round.
asianfoodface 6 months ago
@TheCaptainAlmight131 Pick a caliber you can shoot well for your first gun. Learn to shoot it well and then work your way up to what you feel like you would feel comfortable carrying. .22 is a great learner gun and it's super cheap to help you stay in practice. (you will still have to shoot your carry gun, 9mm or whatever, just not as much).
theaveragejoker 6 months ago
I regularly carry the FNP-9 IWB. In the summer, there some issues with print, but I have modified my holster a bit to make the handle angle up my spine to lessen the chance of it being spotted. I'm in AZ, so CC is not regulated and is common. I've never been hassled. The accuracy and ergonomics are awesome. Some people have trouble with the decocker, but I shoot thumbs forward with no problems. 1000+ rounds, no issues. Some may want a more compact pistol, but I love this gun.
aliensoulleech 7 months ago
I'm only 17, so I can't get a carry permit yet, but I think my choice would probably be a snubnose .38 revolver. I guess maybe a glock or something could be a better choice, but I honestly just like the feel of the revolver and that I know every time I pull that trigger, it's gonna go boom.

hi. im thinking about getting my CHL but i have had friends tell me that they would rather not carry a glock because they have no conventional safeties. instead they have a double trigger mechanism and they are more suited for law enforcement. what is your opinion on that?
asianfoodface 8 months ago
@asianfoodface It's an issue to consider - I'd say just make sure the holster you get always secures the trigger. Glocks have great reputations, so it has that going for it. Practice practice and practice....make sure you know how to handle and shoot it safely. Take a course if you can. Rent some before buying if possible....
nashi55 8 months ago
Also something to consider. If you are forced into a situation where you have to draw your weapon on someone( hopefully you never are) you dont want to have to go through many steps to stop a threat. That gun your carrying needs to be drawn and ready to rock. I duck hunt and many time I go to shoot a duck and forget to take off the safety. God forbide I ever am involved in a circumstance where I have to drawn my weapon on someone and forget to engage safety. 1 reason why police use them
jkx04 7 months ago
@asianfoodface You could also just carry it with a loaded mag and empty chamber. I know people who do this.
ajlepisto 6 months ago
@ajlepisto thats true but if I ever had to use my concealed carry (God forbid) then I wouldn't want to have to pull the slide back in order to arm it before I shoot.
asianfoodface 6 months ago
@asianfoodface Yeah, some people don't feel safe like that...but if you train it, it's possible. It's better to feel comfortable with your weapon than to be "fast" or "do it right."
At the end of the day, you're using a tool to save your life. If you need to use it a certain way to be more effective, more power to you.
ajlepisto 6 months ago
@asianfoodface But really, how is a Glock different from a revolver in that respect? Not my preference, but no more dangerous than other options.
nongmin88 6 months ago
@nongmin88 well with respect to the trigger it is of a different design. I think glocks use a striker mechanism while revolvers are hammers. Basically when the gun is armed with a round in the chamber, a glock has no real way of disarming the striker to make it "safe". Also if your thinking of concealed carry, glocks have double stack mags which makes them a bit more bulky and uncomfortable to wear.
asianfoodface 6 months ago
@asianfoodface buy and carry you glock with an MIC holster, and as long as there is no round in the pipe how can it fire?
auradud3 5 months ago
@auradud3 well if your carrying concealed you really want a round in the chamber. I not that's just one more thing you have to do if you ever have to pull the gun on someone. The bad guy is not gonna wait for you to rack the slide back.
asianfoodface 5 months ago
@asianfoodface that is exactly why i recommended the MIC, I have a vid showing my LCR with a MIC. the original MIC's were created for the GLOCK's, you can find them by googling " MIC holsters,
auradud3 5 months ago
@asianfoodface Keep the booger hook off the bang switch and the gun won't go off.
Hickeydog2365 5 months ago
I personally would use the glock. Conceal carry is really close so barrel and size needs to be small. Hammerless is one more thing to not get caught on when drawing. My opinion.

22 would be better than 380. really
Davidautofull 10 months ago
@Davidautofull actually for a concealed carry a .38 would be better. If you had to use your weapon (God forbid) on someone you want to stop the person with the least amount of rounds. .22s will make a person bleed to death and cause internal damage but the effects are slower. I actually prefer a .38 cause it has the same amount of powder in the cartridge and is only slightly smaller than a 9mm, therefore transfering more kinetic energy into the round.

brookeeatsvideos456 11 months ago
I notice that all the pistols in this video use double-stack magazines. Obviously that's going to mean a wider pistol. What would you have to say about something along the lines of an m1911a1 in 4 inches, which obviously has the single-stack mag and is significantly more narrow? I don't think you can necessarily compare it to that huge FNP you had there at the start. The only similarity is in the .45 ACP ammo.
MeanEyedCats 11 months ago
@MeanEyedCats I'm just trying to get everyone to think about the size & weight before buying. These are just what i have, but some want a full size DS 45. Sure a SS style would be narrower and might be a better choice for some guys. Nothing wrong with a 1911 at all - esp a scaled down version that's better for cc.

Being 7'2" my Glock 20 hides rather well on my left hip. Anything smaller and I don't feel like Im holding it all that well, I have rather large hands. Even the G20 with the full back-strap and and extra padding for the grip and it still is slightly small, but better.

NRAGreer 11 months ago
im looking into a ccw permit but my hadgun is a 500 s&w magnum with the 8 3/8 barrel so the concealing part is kinda out of the question. whats the rules regarding how concealed a weapon would have to be.
FrankVirginia87 1 year ago
@FrankVirginia87 Typically 'concealed' means that the weapon is not obviously observable without material being removed. The advice that i have is to avoid the extremes on frame size. Get something at least big enough to fit your hand, but if its too big it becomes a liability instead of an asset. Caliber, start with the largest you can handle, then if you dont like the magazine capacity, back down on the caliber. But start big, and work your way down.
wizardseye 1 year ago

Great vid.

My only problem with a glock is its lack of a real safety. Do you carry with one in the pipe?
tradernorton05 1 year ago
@tradernorton05 When u r talking self defense, u r talking about a high stress situation. In a high stress situation u need 2 remove as many variables as u can. A manual external safety that has 2 b turned on or off in order for the weapon 2 work is a huge variable. I recommend a weapon with no manual safety. If you choose 2 carry a weapon with a safety, go 2 the range with a buddy, have them turn your safety on or off so u dnt kno which it is, and put it in your holster. Draw, fire 2 rounds.
wizardseye 1 year ago
@tradernorton05 You will discover that the safety is a huge variable and a pain in the butt to deal with. Remember, safeties fail. Your finger is the ultimate safety. As far as chambered rounds, carry it chambered. The weapon isnt going to go off unless you pull the trigger. I dont know a single cop that walks around with an unchambered weapon. An unchambered weapon means more training at the range, an extra variable, and an extra step between me and stopping the threat. Good luck.

Automatics are lighter and have a higher magazine capacity. Only needing one round is ideal (aside from not having to use it), however a high magazine capacity is like insurance.

KeOsism 1 year ago
@KeOsism Yes it starts from there, but you never know what situation you'll be in. Having a CC license provides a person with the capability to protect their family and self. Hopefully you never need it, but in case you do, it should allow you to defend yourself and get assistance. Or it can help you defend another person if they are attacked by some bad guys.
nashi55 1 year ago
@nashi55 Thank you for your reply. Does this mean that having this license you also have rules of engagement? I can't help to think of the bad guys using the system to do harm, though one is put through screening behore they can actually get a license, I guess.
KeOsism 1 year ago
@KeOsism well sir i`am sorry for you,but let me try to answer your question!first, carrying a firearm is a duty set forth by our constitution for every american legally able to do so!no one here in america feels unsafe enough that they feel they have to carry a gun.compare it to needing a knife to cut a rope that has ensnared you.without the knife you wouldn`t have the tool to cut the rope when needed!also let me ask you if you trust your government enough that you expect them to protect you?
bobsolla 1 year ago
@bobsolla Thank you for your answer sir, though there is no need to feel sorry for me. I feel there is a great difference between the knife for the rope and the firearm situation. Is it truly the most efficient tool to get the job done? And perhaps it would be better to prevend oneself to be ensnared by the rope? There are several ways for a government to protect their citizens. Firearms are illegal by law in my country and I think that's a good way of protection to begin with.
KeOsism 1 year ago
@KeOsism Well, here is the reason why, articulated by some one much wiser than me: "LAWS that forbid the carrying of arms . . . disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes . . . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson - "Commonplace Book." (Passage from Cesare Beccaria)
glocky2 1 year ago 2
@glocky2 Thank you for your explanation. I can understand that it's slightly more difficult than it sounds. I am trying to figure out why one needs to have firearms like the ones that are used by the military and lawenforcement (full auto, assault rifles, etc), instead of 'regular' pistols and revolvers.

@KeOsism Its the Same Concept as being CPR Certified...You hope you never have to be in the situation to administer CPR as a civilian.. but you have the knowledge and training just in case
jolo120 1 year ago 7
@KeOsism

They need to research and find the pistol that has the right size, capacity, and caliber for them. They should have a plan on how they can carry and conceal it, whether it's large or small.

Hi
I agree with everything you said. My comments were directed at the audience and not really to you :o)
I just wanted to give my opinion and let people know that they CAN carry a full size auto all day in comfort. The reason i made these comments was simply because SO many copy others and just repeat what they say without thinking or experience. Like i said, I agree with you, i just want the world to know that it is a myth that you can't carry a full size auto :o)
Merry Xmas. :-)
ihaveairlockers 1 year ago
@ihaveairlockers Okay...wasn't sure! That's what the comments are for - so glad you did!! Sounds like your setup works great and carrying a FS pistol isn't an issue. Yep some say it can't be done, but as you say it is possible with a plan and the right gear. Thanks!

@hulkbuster1026

I carry an XDM 45, full size double stack, 13+1 230grains. With a crossbreed supertuck, it feels as light as a glock 30 subcompact.
Great video!

I did'nt know I was aloud to carry a concealed pistol around with me thats so crazy
FullmetalAlchemist78 1 year ago
@FullmetalAlchemist78 Check the laws of your state. That will tell you what is required to get a CC permit. If it's allowed, you pay the fees and you pass the checks...then it's not crazy.
nashi55 1 year ago
If your state allows CCW permit, get a Kel-Tec P3AT with Pow 'r Ball rounds, 7 round clip, DeSantis Nemesis holster, and Crimson Trace laser sight. Lightest weight and will not pull down your "draws." Chamber the bitch first if going to bad areas. Oh yeah, put 500 rounds of Winchester White Box ammo through her first to break in, then reliability is as good as the expensive guys. Keep her clean and shoot 50 rounds of cheap range ammo every six months, and you will be fine.

@verobeachbob1 Get a Glock, M&P or an XDm. Don't trust your LIFE to a substandard gun.
isisncasey 1 year ago
@isisncasey Thanks for the reply, just got it Jan. 29. The ones you mentioned are way bigger and it's usually real hot here and we are wearing cargo shorts and t-shirts, so like the light weight and convenience. We aren't prepared for firefights like cops etc.

I used one of these amazing Glock 26 guns during operations in the middle east. The good thing about them is that they can be quickly hidden up the anus in the event of being captured..and obviously withdrawn again at a later time to aid an escape mission.

im 18 and i was wondering what are the laws when carry guns because some people say i can have it in the car but cant have the clip or bullets in or next to the gun and can i buy from stores or private sellers if so are there any good forums that u would recommend thanks.
millznicebeast 1 year ago
@millznicebeast You need to check out your state laws. CC laws vary so much by state, what is legal in one may not be okay in another. Start with the NRA web site...it's pretty good for law research.

Good video, a commonsense, thought out approach to concealed carry, thanks. I look to more vid's in the future.

Guys I have talked too have bought a smaller pistol after trying to a carry a larger one, it's a compromise but one we all have to decide on.
nashi55 1 year ago
@arckangel2087 So you are saying a 9mm won't stop a big dog? Don't underestimate the 9mm - I think it will prevent an attack. It's cetainly not the most powerful cartridge, but is a nice all around rd for a cc pistol. As long as you can hit the target, it will stop him.
nashi55 1 year ago
My primary carry is a Taurus pt-145. 10+1 .45acp. My alternate is the Glock 26, 10+1 9mm. If anyone is looking for a very small, very reliable gun on a budget, look at the Kel-tec p-11. I have heard only good about this gun, and for $250 bucks, you can spend the savings on ammo and get some practice. Thats funny, the g26, with mag extension, and holster. EXACTLY the way I carry mine. Blackhawk size 4 holster. Neat thing about my two guns, a holster for one, works for the other too.
rb2112002 1 year ago
you should find a gun that's comfortable to shoot. Nothing beats getting a gun for carry because it's small, doesn't really fit your hands, etc. then when you use it you blunder and that gives the badguy the second needed to plug you instead.

i carry a glock 19. i'm a skinny dude and it's easier to conceal than something bigger. carry what's comfortable. get licensed, get proficient and trained, and carry . lot's of debate about round size, but use what's comfortable for u.
richardarichard 1 year ago
Hum, I thought I made a comment here already. Well anyway, do not forget mouse guns as well. I carry the Kel-tec P3AT myself. It is really easy to carry, and there are even smaller that would be easier to carry. You are, however, giving up a lot of power and abilty to shot it well when you go that small, but it is far better then nothing.
Jesses001 1 year ago
I would carry the FNP-45 if I get my concealed carry permit. It's heavy, but if I ever need a concealed weapon, I will be glad I didn't carry a 9x19mm simply because it's easier. The .45 ACP is the only handgun cartridge I will feel confident trusting my life with.
icantafford 1 year ago
@icantafford If that's what you want to carry - okay. One of the points I make is that you'll have a harder time hiding it due to it's size and weight. Smaller pistol is easier to carry everyday - I have have found that out through personal experience as others have too. FNP-45 will certainly stop an attacker - but it's too big in my opinion to carry concealed every day. Where / how will hou hide it in the spring & summer? Won't fit in a pocket and will bulge out from under most shirts.
nashi55 1 year ago
@icantafford BTW: If you want stopping power why not pick a 357 or 44 Magnum? Not strong enough for you? Your making the compromise I mentioned in the vid - picking a pistol with less stopping power, that is easier to hide, but with more rds - 45 acp compared to a 44 mag.
I still think a smaller pistol in 9mm is best all around choice for most people. Easier to hide, manageable recoil, 8-12 rds, & good stopping power w/ ball or HP.
If your plan is to CC a FNP-45 everyday - good luck!!
nashi55 1 year ago
@nashi55 Of course I'm compromising, I never said I wasn't. I just beleive the 9mm is not capable of stoppng an attacking person/animal on the first shot unless you hit a vital spot (a hard thing to do with a handgun under pressure, when you only have a couple seconds to take your shot).
In hot weather, when clothes are lighter, you might be forced to downgrade. But it's still better than nothing. But I would make every effort to get the most stopping power possible in my CC
icantafford 1 year ago
@icantafford We all compromise, just saying your FNP-45 rule is hard to follow yr rd, that's all. Anything less than 9mm is too light for me, but as you say, would be better than nothing. If you want 45acp a smaller pistol might be better if you can deal with more recoil from a light gun. G26 seemed gd choice for cc. Based on the test I've seen, 9mm will be fine. Don't have to drop attacker in 1st shot, just prevent him attacking me. Average person when hit by a 9mm, should stop or slow down.
