So this video shows that a stock C63 4 door sedan Benz ( 450hp) will come close to keeping pace with a modded 'stang Cobra ( that was 390hp before any mods). I'd be interested to see how the Cobra and the C63 coupe would do in a race.
C63 AMG isn't a muscle car really, it's a performance luxury car. You got the Brabus C63 if you were going to mention muscle cars and Mercedes in the same sentence.
Cool vid and a solid race but the c63 is pure class. Th Cobra is just todays version of American Muscle. Cheap interior, all the $ goes under the hood with a nice paint job and maybe some wheels. I like both and both are good at what they were designed for but the C63 is def a nicer car. I bet that Cobra is bit more fun though.

@mzbilbeissi I think there's only 1 company that has developed a superchrger kit for the C63, but the blower alone for it is over 15 grand (thats not including installation). 3 grand could get you maybe a catback and a tune for the C63. But don't forget that this car costs twice as much as the cobra.

The lambo/ ferrari engines do make more power/Liter than the american engines do, but if you look at it in terms of reliability, power, and efficiency Its a different story. EX. Fords 4v TIVCT 5.0 makes 412hp 380tq @ 26mpg highway. BMWs M3 has a 4L 4V V8 which produces 414hp but only 295tq and only makes 20 mpg highway. More technology is not always a better thing...

Supercars aren't for luxury they're for performance (speed + handling). Just look at the F40, and Ferrari Scuderia: They have metal floors!

@320bit SSC Ultimate Aero is from America. And you read the speedo wrong, the 04 was showing that it was the 4th attempt. So if you go back read the speedo correctly, you'll see it actually read 04-(428.9) which equals 266.5 mph. Since the Bugatti test driver did 2 runs in both directions, they averaged the two achieved top speeds at 267mph.
@320bit The S65 and S63 are monsters (I've driven both), but the S65 is more expensive than the SLS amg. So that statement really isn't that impressive when you figure their 4 doors have over 600hp and more than 700ft/lbs of torque (S65), and cost over 200k.

@camirocz For starters, if you look back at 2001, the C32 was faster to 60 than the Corvette and the Viper of that era and even a 911 Turbo. And it had a higher top speed. And more recently we have the Brabus CLS which will just shit all over the zr1 and the viper of today. With a top speed of 225~mph and a 0-60 of under 4 seconds.

The lambo/ ferrari engines do make more power/Liter than the american engines do, but if you look at it in terms of reliability, power, and efficiency Its a different story. EX. Fords 4v TIVCT 5.0 makes 412hp 380tq @ 26mpg highway. BMWs M3 has a 4L 4V V8 which produces 414hp but only 295tq and only makes 20 mpg highway. More technology is not always a better thing...

@bboyOkkk your speaking as if i thought the slr is europes fastest car, yet in what i wrote earler, i mentioned the porsche gt2 rs as the fastest car around the ring. Nowhere did i say ford is BETTER, i was showing examples of how they can compete. And yes im sure that as a car mercedes are better, in the same way that bentley, rolls, ferrari are better than mercs... they're designed to a different standard, for different clientel. If your looking at sales, than no, mercedes is not better...

@EVOX091 the slr is nice but by no means is the best or fastest car in europe. and i should have been more clear i meant that every car i was talking about was faster in a drag race...not track....in a track im sure some american cars would win maybe but straight line is a different story to me. yes for sales mercedes most probably arent the best choice.

Funny that you would mention Mercedes ownership as an expression of personal wealth. A highly optioned Toyota Camry is about the same as a base C-Class sport. I'm sure you would be willing to tell us more about your car in addition to posting a video since someone in your position has the disposable income to buy a camera.

This refuted your earlier claim that you owned a Mercedes and were therefor wealthier than those with less prestigious American made cars. Owning a certain brand of automobile has nothing to do with your financial status.

@bboyOkkk Modded to the max? It has basic bolt ons. The C63 costs 2 times as much as the mustang, and has a much larger engine. And what kind of stupid statement is American can't compete with European? Ever hear of the Ford GT, Saleen S7, Corvette ZR1, Hennessey Venom GT, Viper ACR? Just to name a few. So the C63 lost, big deal, It's still an amazing machine, and so is the Cobra.

@bboyOkkk Hennessey Venom GT, SSC Tuatara, it's not official yet, but its almost certain that they will achieve a higher top speed than the Veyron SS. Don't forget that the Veyron SS is more than 2 million dollars. You can buy every car I mentioned and the total price will probably be less than a Veyron lol. Supercars aren't for luxury they're for performance (speed + handling). Just look at the F40, and Ferrari Scuderia: They have metal floors!

@deanP382 Its a fact of life you just cant get around. American cars are built cheap using the cheapest materials. And then sold to the general public for twice as much as they cost to build. Take the 08 ford focus for example, I had never in my life seen so much plastic in one place. Everything was plastic. Im pretty sure even the engine block was made of plastic!

@320bit Ford focus isn't a supercar. Look at a renault twingo, it has just as much (if not more) plastic as a focus. Look at what I drive in my videos, I'm not at all biased towards American cars. Its a fact that European exotics are harder to maintain, repair, and keep on the road than American cars.

@deanP382 Ok then, lets look at the all plastic Corvette. And the French dont even count, they cant make cars either. And the reason euro cars would be "harder" to maintain would be due to the fact they are not domestic here in America like American cars are. So parts/labor would be more expensive on them. I wouldnt say that a Lamborghini Murc LP-670 would be any harder to keep on the road than a vette in terms of reliability.

@320bit lol at the french comment. I meant harder in terms of things are more prone to breaking and that maintenance is a pain. For example the 30,000 mile service for Ferraris. Even if you live in Italy, to replace a clutch on a Ferrari or Lambo is over 10 grand. No doubt I'd rather own a Lamborghini over a corvette. I just don't like when people bash American cars saying they're slow, shitty, and cant handle. Every country has their shitty cars and their nice ones.

@320bit SSC Ultimate Aero is from America. And you read the speedo wrong, the 04 was showing that it was the 4th attempt. So if you go back read the speedo correctly, you'll see it actually read 04-(428.9) which equals 266.5 mph. Since the Bugatti test driver did 2 runs in both directions, they averaged the two achieved top speeds at 267mph.

@320bit The S65 and S63 are monsters (I've driven both), but the S65 is more expensive than the SLS amg. So that statement really isn't that impressive when you figure their 4 doors have over 600hp and more than 700ft/lbs of torque (S65), and cost over 200k.

@camirocz For starters, if you look back at 2001, the C32 was faster to 60 than the Corvette and the Viper of that era and even a 911 Turbo. And it had a higher top speed. And more recently we have the Brabus CLS which will just shit all over the zr1 and the viper of today. With a top speed of 225~mph and a 0-60 of under 4 seconds.

@deanP382 america has never been in the competition for the fastest car in the world. from 1949-2007 europe has had the fastest production cars in the world. thats about 60 years. america had it for what....3 years? in 2007 they broke the record and then in 2010 it got crushed by the super sport. america was never in the competition. they just got lucky and happened to make a somewhat fast car that particular year.

@bboyOkkk America has always made fast cars, even if they weren't the fastest. So many cars go unrecognized because they were a few mph slower than the #1 fastest car at the time. Look at cars like the Ford GT40, Shelby Cobra, the Hemi cars, the boss mustangs...so many musclecars that dominated any car from any other country in acceleration. Take the 365 GTB/4 for example. although it had the highest top speed, it wouldn't stand a chance against a 427 cobra in the quarter mile or 0 to 60.
