Want to see how massive an impact the worlds largest and most powerful company (ExxonMobil of course) has on the government, media, and public?
Search "Out of Balance" in youtube and check out the trailer for an upcomming documentary about what ExxonMobil has done to stall action on Global Warming and their history of environmental destruction and negligence (including the ExxonValdez disaster which they still haven't cleaned up all the oil from the beaches - as you can see here!)
Question? Can the students resell this oil and get something for it? Probably not considering how much digging they would end up doing to get a cupful. I guess I answered my own question. LOL!
Unlikely, I just drove thousands of miles to get to the right coast. I'm not going back just for a vial. Besides, I just got some oil up at the Hess Station, Hahahahah.
Don't get me wrong, the vials are small (no bigger than an inch). I'm pretty sure memory serves me right about the price...I used to work at one of the local tourist shops. My hometown is Valdez.
I live in Alaska, and I see oil seeping out of the ground on a regular basis, in more places than one. I live nowhere near Valdez or any other recent spills. It's pretty much common knowledge where I live (by Cook Inlet) that there's lots of oil in the ground, because that's how half the familied here are employed, out on the oil platforms in the Inlet. The oil deposits are in the ground, and the companies extract it. Oil is a natural resouce.
Who the fuck are you? You dont know fuck all you prat. Saudi Arabia controls nothing because Yanks run Saudi. Opec stabilises prices in line with world (american) demands. As for 'I hope we all remember the 80s', no I dont I was born in 81 but I have heard about the 70s oil embargo not the 80s. You muppet. Fuck off.
Yeah, like the oil washing up onto the beaches of California as reported by Sir Francis Drake in the 16th century. Do ya think there's oil up there in Alaska? Ya wanta guess how many thousands of years it's been seeping up to the surface, like Drakes oil? Maybe we should pump it all out and be done with it. If you believe Hefeweisen, it could be abated all in about 2 months. Right???? Right???
no they wouldnt. because there's plenty of oil. there's a lack of refining. oil companies are purposefully refining less gas to raise the price so they can egg out profits longer.
also, the highest estimate for available oil in alaska, if it was all extracted at once, would only last for 2 months. setting up drilling and piping would take 20 years and be detrimental to ANWAR.
Republicans love big business dumbfucks. If you're going to root for the retarded team, at least know what you're all about.

Yeah. oil spills get washed up into the sand. It does not form just there over millions of years at the waters edge.
This is a really common problem that no one wants to pay to fix.

this should be called, students find exxon spilled oil.
this is just from the spill that they did a bad job of cleaning up, not a real deposit.

Heavy crude oil is practically the stuff in the bottom of the pits, not very well cleaned and has all kind of sand and dirt in it to make it thick.
HKaorin 5 years ago
If we drilled for oil in alaska, prices would drop to somewhere between $1.25 and $1.40. Actually, I just made that up. But I bet they'd drop.

its a ridiculous proposition

If it's really that silly then why would the oil companies pay to drill there? It must be economical, otherwise they wouldn't ask to do it.
