About the Ephraimites thing, though, they were killed because their enemies couldn't pronounce the "Shi" sound, so it was a test. If someone came to the crossing and said Shi, they weren't the enemy in disguise, but if a person couldn't say the word properly, they were an enemy. Different accents, basically. A killer lisp.

What I find ironic is that people who say I don't understand the bible, havn't even really read the thing, and if they did, they used magic "faith glasses", or THEY claim that some parts can't be understood. My friend well hes muslim and he says when he goes to Mosqcue then they say only them will go to heaven - their heaven is the one with virgins (72) they say christians like my pardre and me wont go. My padre says just keep reading the bible and everything will be ok for me and him and all those at my church. I dont want to go to heaven and be with them bombers. Who should I believe. I know that some people think that some of this is funny but tearing pages out of the holy bible is not right. It is going too far. How would it be if people from other regilions started to rip up the bible? The things were put in the bible for a reason, and no one should say it is not. If you do what it says in the bible the world would be a better place. You can always go to your priest and ask for confession like I do every week if you accientallly do things wrong.

Some of the Ephraim were trying to pass by the Gilead by pretending to be Gilead and saying "Let me pass over".
When asked where they Ephraim, they would deny it, thinking they would be safe.
As a test, to be sure whether or not they were Gilead or Ephraim, they were asked to pronounce "Shibboleth".
The Ephraims could not pronounce the word "Shibboleth", so would instead say "Sibboleth".

And God is omniscient, according to Christianity, so there is no way that humans could "choose" anything without God knowing the outcome and without it being His divine intention. In Luke 19:27 Jesus was quoting someone in a parable. I am an atheist, but I have to point out you took that out of context. Of course, there are plenty of repulsive verses you can find in the Bible that are repulsive when not taken out of context. The video was still hilarious

Read the Judges 12:5, and it says why:
"The Gileadites captured the fords of the Jordan opposite Ephraim. And it happened when any of the fugitives of Ephraim said, "Let me cross over," the men of Gilead would say to him, "Are you an Ephraimite?" If he said, "No,"
and then it goes onto verse 6, which makes much more sense. Lol, you're the one who took it out of context.

Are Old Testament laws still in force? Why do people live by some of the laws in Leviticus & not others? A lot of Christians when confronted with the thing that are forbidden in the Old Testament Levitical Law. Will say thats not for today. Man, thats the Old Testament. Im under the New Testament". The bible its punishable by death to work on the sabbath, to commit adultary, for women to wear mens clothes, the 7th day is the Sabbath & that is Saturday NOT Sunday. Do they work on Saturday?

It's been pointed out that the Luke thing is technically incorrect, though I don't see the point of that parable at all.
About the Ephraimites thing, though, they were killed because their enemies couldn't pronounce the "Shi" sound, so it was a test. If someone came to the crossing and said Shi, they weren't the enemy in disguise, but if a person couldn't say the word properly, they were an enemy. Different accents, basically. A killer lisp.
Pretty smart trick, to be honest.

... what is the problem w/ the passage? God established HIS chosen people. This people, the Ephraimites, were ENEMIES of God and the people. The fugitives were enemies, and lied about their status. So then, they were killed.
It wasn't that they could just not pronounce the name correctly. It was that they were enemies, and their dialect proved it. It is right there in the text!!
God has every right to do this and allow this.

he didnt kill them bcause they couldnt pronounce it!
he was a bad man and they had a dispute with him.
he wanted to avenge so he killed them.
but the reason he asked them 2 speak was:
there were 2 tribes but his fight was with those who couldn't pronounce SH'. they had a speak deficiency and could only say : S'.
he asked each of them to say that word so he could distinguish between the two tribes..

I love it. If you want more twisted scriptures, look up (skeptics annotated bible) look at old testament / foundational teachings. Be sure to look at scientific and cruelty sections. Moral guide to mental retardation. But honestly, true "gnostnic christianity" really was completely different from the traditional christianity that was created in 325ce by pope Constantine under the Unholy Roman Empire.
