I actually just woke up in total darkness and heard this playing from 0:23 onwards. I almost shat myself and turned the volume down on my computer as quickly as I could. Then I realised it was all in my head. Damn Russians.
I'm thinking more likely a symphonic metal band? better pay! is tone is atrociously cracked its possible to get lower? alcohol seems to effect his central nervous system? doesn't relax? still its a deep sound nearly C0 he should keep trying?
@UnholyMessiah555 I go to choir, have 17 and i have Cis - d1.......so I have chances.... :) but this I wrote is any technique....I sing this too, but only voiceless and through neck, without head resonantion. It's about any technique, not much. :)
@MrSonare Both examples are by Pavel Grigorievich Chesnokov: the 1st one is titled "Cherubic hymn" (with the chorus of St. Petersburg and Vladimir Pasjukov as a soloist), the 2nd. one is "Do not reject me in my old age", and soloists are Yuri Vichniakov, Viktor Kruchenkov and Boris Chepikov.
@th3k0nk3r I'm pretty sure they used sound systems to amplify it. Even the best acoustics don't carry a basso profondo that far (and I have that kind of voice).

my voice finally changed again. i'm 16. in freshman year at start: a2 to a4. end: e2-g4. start of sophomore year: e2-e4. end: d2-a4. now at the start of junior year (in just the past three days or so) it's all of a sudden dropped to about b1-g4. i noticed it a few days ago when my throat hurt after going above middle c. my upper range has (mostly) recovered, but hopefully i'm on my way to becoming a basso profondo!
@greghmn the Basso Profondo is a special technique that's only passed on from monk to monk, but b1 - g4? Impressive! I'm a Jazz Bass from a1 to d3, and that's after thirty years of training and working as one!
@balancex3 Ask Roger Menees. He holds the Guinness Book of World Records for lowest voice ever recorded. F-sharp at .393 hertz. Did it earlier this year.
@Gandalf930 Since Vladimir Pasyukov passed away on June 20th this year, Satan must be jealous now: God has a wonderful basso profondo for the heavenly choir.
@Metallicazor no, there is no any technique for singing low notes. its vocal chords ability, not training. training can help you use your voice efficiently, but cannot make it lower )))
@zagibonteese Actually if you practice for lower notes enough you can get quite low,but not much.I can only just sing to this depth because of practice. But also everyone i meet say's i have a very deep voice.
@RebelComedyClub I can't sing high baritone either, but i don't think i can sing below bass,I'd like to meet you and your friend someday, you both sound like interesting people.
@RebelComedyClub I'm bass but i'm always told i have a really deep voice,but i can't sing that low it bothers me,i wish i could.how old is this Benton?i'm 16.
@fuitbag Don't worry too much at your young age. In the male voice, it takes the vocal cords a few years to properly settle down after puberty. Your voice will have access to lower pitches over time, but you mustn't try to force along its progress. The bassos you hear here are late middle age. It makes a lot of difference. Paul Robeson for example sounds like a mellow baritone in his youth, the voice only acquiring its full deep resonance & lower pitches later with maturity.
@hiyadroogs I think i might have kinda reaked my voice,:( i tried to go lower then i usaully could it sounds alot lower,i'm haveing trouble speaking lately, eversence i force it to go lower,it's hurt to speak for to long and sing for to long.
@fuitbag Then rest completely for a few days. Don't even test it. If you've been forcing for long periods it's possible you might have brought on a callous on one of the cords. After a week of total rest, if your speaking voice is not its usual clear resonant self, then get yourself to a throat specialist to advise further. I speak from experience here. In 1995 I stupidly continued talking through a very bad bout of larygitis, & lost my speaking voice for 2 years. My tenor voice never returned.
@fuitbag When descending to extremely low pitches, especially in students who have not yet developed an understanding of the process & lack muscle maturity, it can be easy to overstrain immature muscles. Do not do any vocal exercises whatsoever until your speaking voice sounds & feels completely normal. You can gauge a lot of your vocal health & technique from that. If it is hoarse, sore, gravelly, unclear, husky, or needs clearing of mucus, you're doing it wrong & should rest before re-study.
@hiyadroogs i used to do that (don't need to anymore as i have dropped to about a fourth below the average bass) and as a result when i was singing in third grade, i had dropped from being the only male soprano all of a sudden to an alto and it didn't sound good (and wasn't very loud either), but on a good day, i could fake going down from my normal range of f#3-e5 all the way down to g2! it didn't ever hurt so i must have been doing it right
@hiyadroogs (i learned to imitate a bullfrog at age 4 and it might have helped), but because i can hit b1 without faking lower pitches, i really don't need to other than for comical effect!
@fuitbag When the vocal cords come together in phonation, the working surfaces of the two cords meet parallel along their full length. When muscle strain occurs in the cords, sometimes one or both cords can bow slightly, leaving a slight gap between them even when they meet in phonation. It is this that causes unclear & husky sounds in the speaking voice. If the abuse which caused this is persisted in, the bow in the strained cords will eventually become permanent. So rest completely now.
@hiyadroogs i've been singing like awhile since then,i will rest them and see how it is,it does'nt sound husky it just hurts to speak,I've had a low speaking voice since i was 14 nearly 15,i'm 17 now.
@hiyadroogs i've been singing like awhile since then,i will rest them and see how it is,it does'nt sound husky it just hurts to speak,I've had a low speaking voice since i was 14 nearly 15,i'm 17 now.
@Mathwards is that the bottom G on the piano?I can sing lower than that.but i can't sing anywhere near as loud,I deafenantly could'nt fill a church like that with my voice.

@Gandalf930 oh yes it does. one might be born with a range like that but without training it could just sound like a fog horn..... a really deep fog horn.
@johnxxx20000, can you please include the names of these songs/albums. I would really like to fire them up on my stereo, and youtube does not quite cut it =)
Man, I'm a baritone, and I've got trouble hitting a E2... And that feels really low in my throat. I can't even imagine what singing like this would feel like.
Thanks for the info, I didn't know that, but it does make sense, I mean it's not like you HAVE follow the composers every single mark, especially if you have a small coir or an awesome bass that you'd like to hear sing low(like here).
I actually just woke up in total darkness and heard this playing from 0:23 onwards. I almost shat myself and turned the volume down on my computer as quickly as I could. Then I realised it was all in my head. Damn Russians.

Man, I'm a baritone, and I've got trouble hitting a E2... And that feels really low in my throat. I can't even imagine what singing like this would feel like.

@Zenweaponry The lowest I've ever hit was the C2 (I believe that starts the second of the songs), and it's kind of insane even to a low bass.

Thanks for the info, I didn't know that, but it does make sense, I mean it's not like you HAVE follow the composers every single mark, especially if you have a small coir or an awesome bass that you'd like to hear sing low(like here).
