@fishqueen25 although Loch Ness Monster is older than Big Bad Wolf it is much cheaper to matain than Big bag wolf and it also has a unique element to it (interlocking loops) which is why busch gardens haven't got rid of it. it's a shame though as big bad wolf looked awesome :(

I am really thankful that I got to ride it twice when I went last year. It was such a good coaster, great scenery, great layout, and the best finale that I've ever seen on a coaster. You will be remembered, BBW, you had a great run! =)
While Verbolten will no doubt be a fun ride, I doubt an on track coaster thats only a few mph faster will be a fitting replacement for BBW. The Rhine Drop won't be as dramatic without the suspended effect.

@Loadedmagsny They took it down because it needed too many repairs and the theme park didnt have the money to pay for it. Prices went up now that Anheuser Bush is no longer sponsering them. They even got rid of the Clydesdales

This was my favorite coaster ride of all, and I've enjoyed so many different steel and wooden coasters. Some were taller, faster, and may have had a few more twists, but this one always delivered a solid 10 in the fun factor. Dangled from above, you had a real sense of 'flying' through the town and into the woods. This coaster will be missed by many, and well remembered by all who rode on it, especially by me.

@stealthman951 i know someone who went on the ride in 1993 and she said it was the best ride they;ve ever been on and it seemed much faster and wilder and intense at the bottom. when they returned to the station, the ride was close because the trim brake broke! it wasn't working when they went down the drop, so it hit that turn faster than usual.
I wish I coulda got a chance to ride it. There's almost no Arrow Suspenders still operating right now (I think the one in Cedar Point and another one)
This was my first roller coaster. After riding all of the other coasters in the park, I gotta say this one was the scariest of them all. Something about the closed in cart swinging from the track created a feeling of imminent doom.
The theming and peripheral elements of this coaster were awesome. The Bavarian village, the forest, the tracks dangling over the lake - all great features that added to the experience.
i dont understand why they took this out this was one of the best rollercoasters in the world it one a bunch of golden ticket awards and just because it was old doesnt mean u need to tear it down i can garuntee busch gardens had more then enough money to refurbish this if u can afford to keep the landscaping as great as they do and if u can afford to build a friggen floorless dive machine im pretty sure u can afford to refurbish a suspended swinging coaster

Is busch gardens based on fariy tales and ledgends i live in texas and all we have is six flags and fiesta texas so i dont know much about the other theme parks based cedar fair
@Coasternator busch gardens williamsburgh is based on the different countries of Europe and each section is themed for a different country they have scotland england germany france italy and ireland themed sections and its an anhieser(i think i spelled it rite)busch theme park(plenty of beer :])
Y did they get rid of this? srlsly it was metal not wood it was 100% safe. the only time something happened is when a very small kid went on it and got a heart attack at the drop. This is why we should keep small kids off rides then this would not of happend
@MrAnyco1 suspended rides like this don't have long life spans anyway, and the big bad wolf actually lasted longer than most. since the seats swing it puts more pressure on the track and the maintenance costs we too much to keep the coaster any longer, but hopefully they'll have a kick ass one to replace it

I have to say I grew up with this ride too, it was the first ride I ever rode, but come on people this ride sucked. I didn't even ride when I went there anymore because it wasn't even fun. Move on people they're going to build a better ride.

i was just at busch gardens over the weekend and i was really disappointed when i found out this ride was gone. All thats left are the concrete supports where the ride went down to the water. As long as they keep the loch ness monster im happy. besides the Griffon kicks ass!

Is busch gardens based on fariy tales and ledgends i live in texas and all we have is six flags and fiesta texas so i dont know much about the other theme parks based cedar fair

@Coasternator busch gardens williamsburgh is based on the different countries of Europe and each section is themed for a different country they have scotland england germany france italy and ireland themed sections and its an anhieser(i think i spelled it rite)busch theme park(plenty of beer :])

Y did they get rid of this? srlsly it was metal not wood it was 100% safe. the only time something happened is when a very small kid went on it and got a heart attack at the drop. This is why we should keep small kids off rides then this would not of happend

@MrAnyco1 suspended rides like this don't have long life spans anyway, and the big bad wolf actually lasted longer than most. since the seats swing it puts more pressure on the track and the maintenance costs we too much to keep the coaster any longer, but hopefully they'll have a kick ass one to replace it

construction on the new ride will probably be happening soon.i know cause my dad is a truck driver and he delivered the pieces of it on his truck.the new ride is purple and red.

I have to say I grew up with this ride too, it was the first ride I ever rode, but come on people this ride sucked. I didn't even ride when I went there anymore because it wasn't even fun. Move on people they're going to build a better ride.

I happen to miss this ride so blah, only true va residents could appreciate growing up & riding the big bad wolf EVERY summer, it wasnt the best coaster but it was a staple you had to ride it atleast once everytime you went

i was just at busch gardens over the weekend and i was really disappointed when i found out this ride was gone. All thats left are the concrete supports where the ride went down to the water. As long as they keep the loch ness monster im happy. besides the Griffon kicks ass!
