Nuno is Amazing - As for Dime not being as good as him, maybe you ought to see what he wrote after Dimes death. Much respect was given.. BUt as for Extreme that day - They were God Awful, and you can see that from these videos of the performance - Nuno will always be a great guitarist, but Extreme were shocking that day, and will go down as the worse band to play Monsters of Rock.
i was a fan of Extreme when they done this and it looks to me like the crowd enjoyed it, although i think playing MORE THAN WORDS for Pantera and Sepultura fans was bad idea, lol

What this video doesn't show is that they were booed as they came on stage, booed all the way though there set, and then booed off stage again. It was a very short set too, I think they finished it early (a few bottles were thrown at them too). The lead singer flipped the bird at the crowd as he walked off stage. Not the way to win the crowd over. Shittest band to ever play Donnington.
@rebornonline I was there dude, they were not booed on and off stage, the set was 45 mins as allocated, Bottles and stuff got thrown at of a lot of acts, it was part of the Donnington tradition. And although I also thought the Sepultura & Pantera sets were awsome as i was also with a goup who had gone to see them. There seemed to be a lot of ignorance in those days that bands that sing harmonies and play acoustic guitars where just not cool. Regardless of how good they are.
@TOBLERONETWO Well, from where I was, they got booed on and off, and all the way through, he could obviously hear it as he flipped the bird at the crowd as he left, pretty sure he said "f you" too. It was a bit crazy putting them on after Sepultura! Anyone got any footage of the last minutes of their set to confirm?
@rebornonline Don't get me wrong, No doubt there was booing, there was a lot of media hype that Extreme didn't deserve to be on the Donnington bill cos they were "not Heavy enough???"Yet they were on the same bill as Aerosmith, Even Terrovision made a comment about it, they went on to write pop songs about tequila. At one point there was a bottle riot during Decadence Dance, Bottles up in the air fortunatley not towards the stage, that was funny.
@rebornonline And yeah Gary told the crowd before More Than Words to "Shut the fuck up" No doubt he was pissed off that day, a lot of bullcrap from the press for being there, It definately threw him. But they could of easily cut out Midnight Express and More Than Words, but they stuck to thier guns. Nuno was a "sitting duck" when he was on the stool playing acoustic, yet there were more people singing along Inc Sepultura fans. Fortunately there were more than enough Extreme fans there that day.
@TOBLERONETWO Sepultura? Pantera? Good bands and players, but none of them are even worthy to clean Nuno's underwear. He remains the last guitar hero prodigy to be discovered, and deserves a crapload of respect.
@bwmckenna1 I looked up Shannon Larkin and nothing came up that said he played for Extreme, just Paul Geary, Extreme's older drummer, being the manager for Godsmack.
How many if any can take their song to 1/2 speed level and still rule... Cool and really showing what they were / sure are able of on a musical level. Only band who's come close if not equal to Queen.
I love this song, but this version really sucks. Mainly because of the slow tempo and the awful sound of nuno's guitar (and the whole band) during the "waiting for the punchline" alternative time.
when i find the beauty of nuno himself and his hands playing his guitar, together with the rest of the music, i find the best result i could ever imagine lol

my apologies guuiddoo . no dis. just all respect. by the the way that is Shannon Larkin on the kit...now in Godsmack !

@bwmckenna1 That's not Shannon Larkin. That's Mike Mangini, later played for Steve Vai. He just has his hair in a ponytail I guess...

@Jake6497 "That's Mike Mangini, later..." Sorry my forgetfulness I meant to say, "Who later played.."
