  • Dude I live in NY I've studied the Motorcycle Handbook and I'm going to take the practice test tomorrow. I'm 18 and was wondering how much did you pay to take the test and what kind of questions they asked?

  • @LambLeg87 It was a very easy test but I'm sure your handbook will be different than the ones down here. I don't remember the cost either but it would be different too I'd imagine. Good luck.

  • How tall do you have to be to ride a bike like this? I was at a dealer today and felt pretty intimidated.

  • @scvs2 I'm 5' 10" and I feel perfectly comfortable on it. I've read about lots of women who ride one that are 5' 3"- 5' 7" with not problems and guys up to 6' 3". It's a very forgiving bike and very light at 333lbs dry and gets 65 mpg which is great considering gas is almost $4 a gallon. I've put 3400 miles on mine and love it.

  • @matt78tv Excellent good to know, I'm about to go for my Learners permit. I thought the bike would weight more, but at least now I know I can take it into my condo elevator knowing it won't get stolen on the outside parking lot. (Lets hope they let me) hahaha

  • @scvs2 Yeah, you can get them about anywhere you want them. This weekend at work it came a hail storm and my friend pulled his into the mall right through a fire escape door with no problems.

  • you only have to pass a test of 25 questions to get the permit? maaan... here in germany, you have to pass a test of 30 questions, go to a first aid seminar which takes about 6 hours, at least about 15 driving lessons and a driving test which takes about 45 minutes.... the results are high costs and much passed time..

  • @CwalkinZoom Well it is probably a good thing you guys have to go through so much because lots of motorcycle accidents here in the states. It's probably too easy here and I know Germans tend to do things the right way which is the only way to do them. Be safe out there and have fun : )

  • im 15 1/2 and have a 2009 ninja now but i dont understand how to get my permit, all i do is take a written test right?

  • @JKK250 Mine was not even a written test. Just walked up to a desk and took the eye test. Then had to walk over to a mulitple choice machine and answer I think 25 questions. I was out of there in 15 mins. Be very careful man and think of everyone as trying to kill you because people treat motorcyclist like crap and don't see them often.

  • I really need an answer for this, im 16 and i want to get my motorcycle permit, when i get my permit do i have to drive someone on the back with me?

  • @ShocKWav2 When you go to get your permit you will just take a test which consist of 25 questions. You must also pass the eye test, then you can get the permit. You don't have to have the motorcycle with you. Oh, and once you get your permit here in KY it is good for 3 or 4 years, and you must wear a helmet and not ride anyone on the back with you with the permit.

  • @matt78tv

    what were the questions

  • @ShocKWav2 I can't remember but study your book and you won't have any trouble. Mulitple choice always helps.

  • dude it is a nice bike !!

    lol I had a 2005 ninja 250r black once

but changed it to bigger bike 3 monthes later

it is really good for beginner

  • You do need one. In order to get your permit u have to have a valid drivers license. And you need a permit first in order to take a MSF course to get your Class M.

  • NICE.

  • nice bike dude!

  • I HAVE A QUESTION.......do you need a drivers license in order to get a motorcycle license

  • I don't think you do but I'm not really sure. Never had thought of that.

  • No lol you dont. But i live in massachusetts,i am not sure about you... im 15 and almost ready to buy a bike, You dont need one....because some people only ride a bike and dont have a car right>? lol.. :)

  • it probably mostly depends on where you live but otherwise no... its better to have one tho because then you know how the road is before stepping on a bike

  • in my country you don't need a drivers license

  • @kloikrules Yes you need a Class C drivers license to obtain a Motorcycle Permit. You don't need one if your above 18 though...

  • @kloikrules Yes, because a motorcycle "license" is actually an endorsement added to your existing drivers licence. Just noticed you asked this a year ago but hell, I already typed this out.

  • can someone 6 Ft ride this?

  • Oh yeah easily. From what I understand this ninja is the same size as the 650 ninja.

  • is this bike to powerful for a first time rider

  • Not at all. It has plenty of power but is very forgiving in every aspect. Great braking, great agility, and even great acceleration if you want to put the tach up to 8-11,000 rpm which is what it is made to do since redline is at 14,000. Plus I'm a first time rider and 5' 10" and 162 lbs and I couldn't be happier with this bike.

  • thanks yeah i need to save up!!

  • Oh my gosh I love your bike I want one! Do you like it?

  • Thanks. The more I ride it the better I like it. It has plenty of power and gets over 60 mpg right now. I love cranking that little engine up to 10,000 rpms. I've put over 850 miles on it now. You really should get one because they are very afforadable. Finding one may be a problem though if demand is still outweighing the supply like it was late last year when I bought this one.

  • I thinking about getting either a Ninja 250r or a Ninja 650 as a step up from a Honda CBF125.

Cant the 250r leave traffic standing at the lights well?

Can many cars out accellerate this?

I live in busy London and there are way too many white van drivers who try to rev right behind you. I just slow down to 30mph to piss em off.

  • Oh yeah you won't have any trouble leaving traffic sitting at red lights. This bike will accelerate 0-60 mph in 5-6 seconds. You do have to get use to really reving these bikes though to get the most out of them but they are made for that. They really sound good too turning 10,000 rpm. Real advantage to this bike is it is so agile and easy to whip around because it is light. If you plan on hauling a passenger I would get the 650 but if it's going to be primarily you riding it I'd get the 250.

  • Thanks for the tips. I´m more swayed to getting one.

My only worry now is the painful engine break in process. I hear you should only rev 4k for the first 500 miles. Top speed at 4k is 35mph!

    Did you follow this?

  • No I didn't. There is no way to follow this. The day I bought it I had to let my brother ride it home since I didn't have my permit and he got it on the interstate and had to run 65-70 turning lots of rpms. After 500 miles on mine I stopped worrying about it and have run it up to redline a few times. I changed my oil at 600 miles and now have over 750 on it and no problems. You probably could keep it under 8,000 rpm for the 1st 1,000 miles but you'd have to stay off the interstates.

  • I love these bikes I've got a green one but I hate the way they sound.

  • i payed $7600 ride away@ race replica in melbourne...i just need to know1 morethink wats the distance from the rear fairing to the top of the rear wheel

  • Nice bike

how much did it run u, at (state)

  • where did u get ur seat cowl at? or where could i get one for my black ninja 250?

  • I got it at the dealership when I purchased the bike.

  • Nice Bike Man!!!! Do know how many RPM's your turning at 55mph? THANKS!!!

  • Actually I do. 55 is turning like 6,000 rpm if memory serves in 6th gear. I keep a close eye on the rpm's because your suppose to break them in gently for the first 1,000 miles. This bike red lines at 11,000 or 11,500 and when you get in traffic you have to get it to at least 7,000 to stay with traffic on take off.

  • these engines started out turning 15,500 rpm, then stepped down to 14,500, and then 14,000.. The drop to 14k according to kawi was to make sure there was sufficiant oil to all the parts of the motors.. Redline on 08+ show's 13k but your safe to hit the 14k rpm limiter.

  • hey iam in australia whats the best price u can get iam in melbourne is it possible to get free on roads for this bike iam paying 5000 dollas cash then the rest on card probly 2400 of it on card

  • ahh..i got mine too..black 09.. how much did yu pay for the solo seat cover?

  • Ah, i can't wait to get mine :-)

  • don't kill your self on that

  • Yeah, I rode it about 22 miles today for practice since it was such a beautiful day. I hadn't rode a motorcycle of anykind in 15 years so going to take some getting used too. This is a very agile bike and easy to learn on. Just ordered me a protected kawasaki coat, knee and shin protectors, and riding boots.

  • nice safety is always a good thing
