  • ...near matchless...I still have the Toscanini version on Red Seal I inherited in 1962...this is my absolute favorite, even with worse sonics than the Munch version....

  • @valdengo1 From around 1944 until 1949 Decca were ahead of other record companies in the quality of their recordings. This recording was made by Kenneth Wilkinson who in the 60s made recordings for RCA in London. Pity he did not record Toscanini.
