I don't believe any genre of music is really "the best". However, classical music ESPECIALLY Beethoven has always and always will be around. It is probably fair to say that Beethoven was the greatest musical genius in Western history (maybe world history but I can't go that far due to my own ignorance). And this was one of his greatest works. Amazing how there are different versions on Youtube going from less than 2 minutes to almost ten minutes. @germanthrash666 In metal (and I'm a huge fan too), there are bunch of bands (specially, and obviously, symphonic, melodic, etc.) that are inspired by and even incorporate pieces of classical music... even some of the "spookiest" bands do that whether they just play it for a few seconds on guitar or bass... you should know better than that... Btw, I agree with you: judging/rating music is up to the individual... so I think you should respect everyone's opinions as well... =)

I listen to all types of music and am a big fan of 80s metal, but nothing can touch people like Beethoven, Handel, Vivaldi, Scarletti, Bach etc... Being a composer for classical music is a whole other ball game.

@iamajibber sorry... but I have to disagree... classical is only dfferent, but not necesairly harder.. look at jazz, thats complex... no rules which means nothing to rely on. Technical Death Metal, ver fast very complex to play, as a matter of afact, most techdeath musicians have a classical base, and they push it farther with their music. Blues, every musician is capable of technically playing blues, but not as much can PLAY blues, can make it happen. Classical is different - not harder.
