I used to be a kobe bryant fan 2 years back, but then i sorta gave up on the nba cuz it wasn't inspiring. This weekend, I watched michael jordan for the first time (i dunno y i didn't earlier) and let me tell you - this man is amazing. Good teammate, beautiful moves, amazing vertical, awesome talent. He is my inspiration. As soon as I watched him score 60 + points a couple times, I went outside and played 2 hours at 11:00 P.M. until my dad called me in cuz the neighbors were complaining.
Love the authenticity of the NBA during this time and much of the early 90's... And im glad to see Jordan sweating that much in an interview... they basically have players in make-up nowadays.
The young players of today simply can't accept that Jordan was the Best There Ever Was!
Because if they did, they 'ld have to realise that they were'nt around & missed it & that the players they're growing up with right now, are simply watered-down versions of Mike! playing in a league that sold out by softening its rules..
So these kids' young, fragile ego's can't handle it.

Jordan was crazy good in this game. Scary part about it is...HE WAS JUST A ROOKIE!!! This is probably one of my favorite MJ games of all time. If any of you have never seen this full game, I suggest you watch it. I think some has this one uploaded somewhere on youtube.

Now, that was some tough, hand checking defense being played there. I mean, did you see the Knicks guys sliding there feet to take a charge and or hammering the great MJ. Hell, Kobe would not last a game back in the 80's! Those guys were sooo tough. Lucky for Kobe he's playing today and not yesterday.

Watch this game and see the skills that made him the greatest of all time. He could shoot the midrange j, drive to the hoop, hit the turnaround jumper, move without the ball and use screens, play the passing lanes on defense, rebound and block shots. All those skills were already there in his rookie season. That's how skilled MJ already was coming into the league.

Michael Jordan had the ability to finish around the basket better than anyone I've ever seen including LeBron. He is superior shooter, and a slightly better passer. Jordan had the ability to take defenders down to the post and had one of the better post games all-time, LeBron being 6'8 250 doesn't have the ability to score in the post like Jordan. Jordan is far better.

Jordan was ahead of his time. The guys in these early 80s videos look rather slow and pathetic. Fast forward to 1992, and there is NOT a huge difference in speed or athleticism from today. Im saying that the game is better today and Michael wouldnt dominate like he did back then. The guys back then didnt even work out. Now players are on professional schedules with trainers and everything. Its not the same..and you cant say Jordan, as he was back then..would be the same. Life evolves...remember. Therell be individual players better than Michael in the future..Lebron is getting there. My credentials to critique come from playing the game all my life and 2 high school championships!

And for your reference..Jordan DIDNT WORK OUT UNTIL 1989 so those free throw dunks you see...he did those without any plyometrics, any workouts. Put a young 1984-1987 Jordan on a modern regime and he would be doing unthinkable things in the air. According to you modern players are technically better than guys like Isiah, Magic, Bird, Hakeem etc...ridiculous claim.

@FightingForFreedom23 I agree to an extent there, which is why Horry while on the Spurs said we would beat any Celts team in the 80's now! Athletes get better and faster all the time yes! Which is why a Gale Sayers from the 60's would not be the man he was today in todays football game where Linebackers are fast as hell! For their time they were the best, but later on athletes do get better. Jordan though at around 40 got over 20ppg with the Wiz though, that says alot about him.

@onblock7 Well the truth about basketball is that it has gotten worse in terms of fg% and free throw% overall knowledge of the game has declined. Athletes are slightly larger but don't have the skills of 20 years ago. Many playing in NBA today would have gotten CUT in the 1980's.

@jimboedwardlee I agree the Fundamentals are horrible nowadays compared to then, they lack. Athleticism is higher which would make up for some of that and so on, but back in teh 80's they are way more fundamental.
