  • Is this in super as well?

  • what are you talking about dan with no back dash? Dans back dash is one of the best in the game. its fast, goes far, and hes airborne throughout it (in super) so he cant be ground comboed if hes hit out of it.

  • invincible frames in my back dash? no shit sherlock

  • Dan has a back dash, what are you talking about?

  • @SaikyoDanSRK true he does, but it's not exactly a dash with invincible frames. He actually RUNS backwards... not dash. Check it out and you will see for yourself. Anyway I'm no expert, I don't really play this game or the new one. The video was made by my friend and I just uploaded it.

  • @Konjousan Ah yes, I see what you mean now. If he had no backdash, that would make him one of the worst characters! Oh wait...

  • This is why you jab, and then sweep.

  • LOL

The SF4's Graphics is epic sux.

Dalshin is the RUBBER MAN? lol~~~~

  • A like is not enough for this video. 5 stars man...even though there is no star system anymore....5 it should be...

  • too bad dan only has a back run

  • You can back-dash through a sonic boom

  • you can focus the first hit and make the second go through you

  • also kof 95 had them

  • back dashing always had those properties

  • not in SF

  • Of course not why would a game made in the late 80's have the technology to create animnation frames that display and character dashing back to avoid the enemies attack. SF New Gen,2nd impact, and 3rd Strike had it though; CvS2 had it as well.

  • You said always. So I was just pointing out how you were wrong. Relax guy.

  • sorry bout that didn't mean to sound jerky.

  • I noticed this when I was playing against a cross up happy ryu

  • Since it has 8 frames of invincibility, if the attack came in within that time it won't hit whether the dashing occurs at corner or not. But if it occurs outside that 8 frames an attack will hit a back dash at a corner because there is nowhere to go.

Also note that every character trips different distances when dashing (forward/backward) and dashing away from dhalsim's fierce would be pretty pointless unless the dash takes you out of dhalsim's reach AND the timing is right.

  • the input is dashing back and it will not get caught by foot sweeps or any attack since your backing fast from the attack, so maybe it also accepted even though your in the corner

  • Startup invincible frames to escape cross-up traps (like gief's)? Yeah.

Abusable? Possible if you're playing against mashers.

    Counter-able? Totally.

  • iirc, guilty gear x2 also has invincible back dash frames =/

  • Yes they have if you read what I said. I SAID its not like this shit.

  • OMG there goes snkfiend again is there a capcom video he hasnt hated on lol

  • Glad I'm not the only one whos noticed.

  • what the heck r u ppl talking about? they purposely gave back dash some invincible frames, other games had it too.

  • Other game does not have 3d backdashing like this. Also 2d backdashing shouldn't even be that close to dash like that. Like blazblue tager has a invincible backdash but you cannot abuse it like this game. When I look at gief and balrog how the hell can you have a invincible backdash that many times and not get hit explain please and tell me a another fighter like this and please don't say MVC2.

  • their just timing it well in this video, its not as effective in a real match, other then wake up back dash. your not gonna be able to dodge every hit the other guy does, like your trying to make it sound. its a small window invincibility

  • Ok but my opinion still stands ok.

  • Clearly you have something personal against capcom... I, and I invite the rest too, to stop arguing this point. It's getting nowhere.

  • Well let me have my opinion.

  • well your opinion is stupid thats my opinion

  • Watch my SNK 300 VS capcom empire video in my profile man you will love it or hate it.

  • How is this any different than a parry in SF3s? It's an input to avoid damage. What other programming errors are there? I'd say this is the lease broken of the bunch.

  • This game is a glitch I don't why you defending capcom like this when its easy to find SF4 glitches on youtube all types this game was not finished with the programming and the patches is not helping either.

  • Backdashes have 8 frames of invincibility if I remember correctly.

Leaves you with 1/8th of a second to react. I don't consider this "broken".

  • How is not getting hit close by the wall by backdashing not broken. You have to say thats a problem rather than defend it. Capcom has programming error problem with their fighters and this is the worse SF i've played with all the errors this game has.

  • Comment removed

  • They might not be completely smooth games, but the fact that their games, and the frame-skipping is intentional; if you don't like it, don't play it.

Plus, MVC2;while it had its ups and downs, was sick.

  • kinda weird o.o

i think its do-able in matches but seems hard to master

  • Wonder if Capcom is going to just back off for another decade before they make another official street fighter. This one has some so many problems that technical moves like this backdash just add to turtle defense and barely any offensive advantages.

  • nice stuff

  • man that consist on perfect timing

  • LOL.

  • Broken, no, that would be MVC2.

This gamejust has problems that contradict itself that make it annoying.

This backdash would actually turn out to be pretty useful...if it wasn't for highly defense gameplay that gives more advantages to turtles than people who actually want to play the game (why the hell would they make reversals over 9 frames! It destorys meaty attacks , damn!).

  • You know what I totally fucking agree thank you but you know Crapcom always had problems with they fucking programming with most of their fighting games and it never fails.

  • Uhh....I thought people knew about that already?

heck, FA-backdash gives you slightly more invincibility and is good for baiting Shoryuken-happy players.

But you know not to try to pull it off consistently (especially with moves that stick out)

  • haha, i do that to Ken scrubs all the time. who didn't know about this?

  • Ok i thought this was something .......glitch like. This is just normal.. good reason I back dash on my wake up game. Well uppercut focus cancel backdash... that sorta thing.

  • Thank you for uploading this. Love the end where Balrog needlessly beat Dhalsim up ;p

  • Is it just me or does Balrog have tons of options invincibility wise? His spinning back punch goes through, his headbutt goes through, his EX punches go through most etc.

Serious question I'm just curious about. Don't be a dick about it.

  • yes its the part of the reason he's in upper tier. Capcom never said SFiv was balanced.

  • Really true. I have way more trouble dealing with a Balrog than I do with like Sagat who everybody despises.

  • for all his charge punches though u can through him before he gets it off even the ex ones

  • @teenidol12 yeah but he has no crossup, no kara-shit whatever, no decent wake up etc. TAP can be stopped by a mere jab if timed correctly :D

  • Taking credit for finding something that the developers put into the game on purpose.

  • has anyone noticed if forward dash works the same? could you imagie the potential in that.

  • I actually back-dashed out of Ryu's ultra the other day using Sagat...me n my buddy were like "OMG WTF BMW"! hahaha...it actually looked pretty pro.

  • nice.. most fighting games discourage the back dash cuz u can get hit. This is definitely useful agains zangief's throws

  • i believe all backdashes are invincible for the first 8 frames.

  • I believe i saw back dashing defend against throws as well.

  • what dans doesn't have inv frames? i'm never playing dan again : (

  • He's kind of a "joke" character. Fun to use, maybe not for serious competition.

Still, he's my main and I'm more about having fun playing the game than trying to win all the time.

  • it's not about being able to exploit it to your advantage. it's just showing you something that happens that is unnatural. a glitch. Pretty interesting though

  • seeing as they are able to replicate it over and over again says that it not really a glitch.

  • we knew this a long time ago

  • you havent unlock seth

  • too risky to try to pull off

  • This... try that in a real match and your gonna get your ass handed to you unless you can predict the oponnents every move

  • This is great to use upon wakeup if you are using a character without many wakeup options like Balrog for example. Just simply back dash and you should be able to avoid pretty much any attack, including throws and some supers/ultras depending on the direction/s they hit you.

  • I dash alot when im playing so I do notice sometimes that this works... But by all means I dont do it on purpose

  • If I'm not mistaken, Balrog has as many options on wakeup as most of the other characters... Dosn't he?

  • balrogs only real options are the headbutt and TAP, right? let me know if im wrong, cause id love to know.

  • TAP?? fairing and dairing fairing and dairing!

  • LOL this is the only comment with a thumbs down.

  • it means turn around punch, dumb shit. :3

  • fairing... and dairing...

  • back dash is invisible for every character with one?

  • knew that N years ago...

  • looking at your level of excitement reminds me of when I started playing this game 7 months ago... can't wait for the new generation to catch up...

  • The frames on that are so few I bet it's nearly impossible to use unless you're fighting someone who's spamming the same simple move over and over. Even then, as you can see here, you'd have to pick up on the tempo and rythym of the attaks to be able to put this to use. Like I said I can't see this being used intentionally very much, the time frame for it is far too small.

  • im giving a credit to ono, not you losers. rated 1.

  • that was cool

  • this shit is old, not giving credit to shit.

  • This is old stuff, but I guess it's good they put a video out. They pretty much had to add this in to avoid Focus Attacks being invincible on meaty.

  • oh what the hell, lol this is crazy

  • ok i see what you were talking about now....

leave it upto norm to break something

  • Oh boy! I wonder if that was intentionally left in for high level play.

  • i thought the back dash inv was already known...for a while -_-.

good find for you tho. but its not groundbreaking lol.

Its kinda hard to gauge just how useful it is. I don't think u recover quick enough to give you any sort of time to real punish anything....Now....if u can back dash out of a guard....Say the final hit of a super or something....hell even people trying to do a recovery shoryuken or something...I could see the goodshit there.

  • Your right, is part of the SF4 wiki, but is still a good video for people to see, like casuals for instance. I didn't play SF4 like that in CF or even seen this display in matches at all, so it seem new to us. And yes, not ground breaking at all, is not like it goes through special attacks. Is harder then parries, but it gives people a general idea about the dash.

  • yeah.

try this shit with Cammy. She's fast a fricken hell. can dodge zangief SPD from what i've seen.

  • shouldn't you all be getting ready for WCG? ..lazy -_-

    sweet vid btw

  • Like Cozby said... TURTLE ftw

  • I suspect this technique is going to be a major factor in high level play. It's like an evade in other 3D games

  • LoL @ HarlemHeron Konjo play SFIV all night without me :(

  • turtle ftw
