@kilroyfx Because you don't break in corners while leaning since that will also result in a crash. Leaning again after almost totally loosing the rear is hard to do in a situation like this, so he didn't have much of a choice between hitting the Bridge or not.
@Assaiki I think, he chose to correct for the instability - but maybe he could have laid the bike down reducing the risk of such a dangerous crash and going over that wall.

causing the high speed wobble. The only way to save it would have been to lean left and tried to turn the bike right. this would have resulted in a hard turn the the left.
@pas0003 It looks like his left toe stubs the pavement @0:26. That sets up a wobble which he fails to control. Not uncommon for riders who wear street shoes while riding bikes.
had my first crash after getting oil on my tyres then going into a slight bend in a 50 MPH zone the back end of the bike slid out and i low sided it worst thing about it was nody stopped to see if i was ok cause the bike was off the road and i was next to the kerb
He didn't match the rpm of the gear he wanted to downshift, and released the clutch fast enought to lock the rear wheel. To bad bikes back then didn't have slipper clutches, most of today's liter bikes do
@bigredbosshog this isn't entirely brakes. you can see that the wheel locked up from a downshift. obviously he's probably applying the brakes as well but by themselves i don't think that would cause an issue.

Yeah I know what you mean, if someone is going to do 'stunting' then they should atleast do it at night when it's quiet with less motorists on the road. Well believe it or not it was through driver error, I always stick to speed limits in city/town's which is 30mph. Anyways this idiot pulls out of a junction (not seeing me) regardless of having my lights on during day light hours. Well I don't have much because the economy in the UK is really bad right nowand if someone struggles, then they really are struggling. @Bookito1 if you hit your rear brake hard or downshift while turning you are just going to drag your rear wheel on the asphalt and unless you are really acustomed(and talented) to do that in a controled way there is no saying where the rear tire is going to take you.Trying to adress that is likely to give you a tank slap.If your curve entrance speed was to high(normal miscalculation) you should try to move your bum and body towards the curve center to compensate the extra C.F. rather than brake

I think this crash hapened because he accelerated the bike when it was leaning si he just felt.
@PianoManCallum Here's my theory: He applied too much front brake and momentarily locked the front wheel which set up the wobble. He was too busy trying to stay on the bike to be able to make the turn. He is damn lucky he didn't get launched over the wall.

nah, new rider with limited skills (and a big budget by the looks of it, fresh Dainese leathers). He's booted it on the dirty section of a local road and the back end has stepped out. Not knowing what to do, he has dropped his left leg to the floor and lost all control. Anybody see brake lights? Nah, no control!
this man was riding/filming this new bike for a tv-show about bikes. (like top gear). He was reviewing the bike and therefore not familliar with its behaviour. He said he was scared out of his mind when he saw the bridge because it was a 15meter fall down the other side. He didn't know how he avoided flipping over the bridge. But he did not sustain any severe injuries.
This crash was on a show on tv about a week ago so that's how i know ;)
That looked and sounded horrific!!!! I nearly did something similar today. Luckily there was no wall but grass and my dirt track riding skills came in handy. Tip: never ever brake while cornering! The bike is more capable than you so keep on the power. And yes, I have changed my trousers since!! Lol!

Well I don't have much because the economy in the UK is really bad right nowand if someone struggles, then they really are struggling. It's ironic you say because I was more concerned if my bike was damaged rather than myself, i'm sure i was fine, but the adrenaline though is crazy so i could have been really hurt but didn't take much notice.

@Bookito1 if you hit your rear brake hard or downshift while turning you are just going to drag your rear wheel on the asphalt and unless you are really acustomed(and talented) to do that in a controled way there is no saying where the rear tire is going to take you.Trying to adress that is likely to give you a tank slap.If your curve entrance speed was to high(normal miscalculation) you should try to move your bum and body towards the curve center to compensate the extra C.F. rather than brake

He was riding the outside of the lane...bad biker. all the fluids that spill out of cars bikes ect are going to the outside of a turn. He hit a spot of oil or gas and rear wheel slipped and he shit himself. Now he shits in a bag.

No, no, and no!!! This guy was filming for a music videoclip. this crash happened when the other guy was filming and he was caught on tape. i saw this on Discovery (i dont know the name of the TV spot).
I think this crash hapened because he accelerated the bike when it was leaning si he just felt.

@PianoManCallum Here's my theory: He applied too much front brake and momentarily locked the front wheel which set up the wobble. He was too busy trying to stay on the bike to be able to make the turn. He is damn lucky he didn't get launched over the wall.

I don't think he is. Looks like he just hit a patch of loose dirt or gravel, being so close to the edge of the road, and got into a mini tank slapper that he just didn't have time to recover from. Poor guy. Poor bike. God damn wall. ^_^

This guy had zero control over that bike. It was a little bobble that if he had the basic skills he could have controlled the situation.... not almost end up getting flung into a gorge. He, like most harley drivers, can drive a motocycle but as soon as something happens they have no idea what to do... no control.

nah, new rider with limited skills (and a big budget by the looks of it, fresh Dainese leathers). He's booted it on the dirty section of a local road and the back end has stepped out. Not knowing what to do, he has dropped his left leg to the floor and lost all control. Anybody see brake lights? Nah, no control!

this man was riding/filming this new bike for a tv-show about bikes. (like top gear). He was reviewing the bike and therefore not familliar with its behaviour. He said he was scared out of his mind when he saw the bridge because it was a 15meter fall down the other side. He didn't know how he avoided flipping over the bridge. But he did not sustain any severe injuries.
This crash was on a show on tv about a week ago so that's how i know ;)

That looked and sounded horrific!!!! I nearly did something similar today. Luckily there was no wall but grass and my dirt track riding skills came in handy. Tip: never ever brake while cornering! The bike is more capable than you so keep on the power. And yes, I have changed my trousers since!! Lol!
