This is a simpler experimental method as there is no plasma involved. The water is seeded with particles and a lasersheet of one or two millimeters thickness illuminates the particles. The real experiment was made with double exposures in high speed camera's. This movie is a simple demo of the setup of this experiment.
@rikkie2 I see now I re read your description, it might be an idea to simply mention that the experiment is at 90 degrees, or the camera is on it side. The top is the RHS? In effect the method is similar, the particles travel along a cone of plasma ie Argon usually, towards a multiplier or in your case the laser. May be I'm clutching at straws?
Is this similar to ICP MS in terms of method?
