A drummer with good time and a vibrant, well rehearsed band plays Buddy's charts and doesn't use white marine pearl drums? And he's not a pathetic wretch with a fragile ego and serious identity issues? Good! Nice to hear someone approach this material with reverence for Buddy but without the watered down egocentric look-at-me and pay no attention to anything other than how much I'm pretending to be Buddy Rich (even though I'm not a good musician) crap. The band sounds great. Good job, Rafik.
