I have a gen3 limited that looks and drives offroad like a real truck. This new sissy minivan look sucks major ass just like the gen4 does. They must have done their design focus groups with women only.
I saw the truck at a dealer by my house and was disappointed. One thing is they went back to a mast antenna on all 4-runners and no more locking gas door . Anyone can open the gas door from outside the truck. Looking down the side of the truck I noticed the rear tail lights stick out to far as do the front headlights. Also didn't like where they located the power window switches , right up to the bottom of the side windows. I guess I will be holding onto my 1998 4-Runner a little longer.
This is how a 4Runner is supposed to look..imo the best looking 4Runner ever released, especially in silver.. The 03-09 ones looked too..fragile, it didn't look anything like what it's designed to do
Looks great! Much better than the outgoing model. The '09 one was to round and lady like. This one screams muscles and power! Just look at those wheel arches! Boxy is back tree hugging curves are out!
i dont know what americans want, there's plenty of SUV to choose from, so whats the big deal, if you dont like it dont buy it, and everybody's happy...i wish i could have it in my country. be greatful people!!!
VERY UGLY! I was going to get one back in 07 but oh boy that thing jumps too much on the highway. Opted for a Limited Explorer with the V8. MUCH MUCH better...
I don't like the design esp the front end. Looks too boxy. I've driven Toyotas for 15 years and I have had two 4Runners and 2 tacomas. I currently drive a 2004 4Runner Sport.

I had to laugh when he mentioned the 'signature styling cued rear power window that's been part of the 4 Runner since it's conception'.
Shouldn't he have said the 'signature "faulty" rear power window'. Or have they actually overcome that problem since the gen 3 4Runner LOVL.
And yes I do have a 90' model gen 2 4Runner and love taking it out bush, just wish they still sold the 4 Runner here in Australia.
