  • *nodding head*

    Vocals...

    *Clicking another link*

  • featured videos - The Duck Song, who else sees the similarity ?

  • Its called music. Enjoy it or not and shut the hell up!

  • Love their own unique sound like the clean vocals too not that theres anything wrong with growls and screams but good to have some cleans every once in a while

  • What a voice! It's insane what notes he can hit!

  • i'm not huge on the guy's voice particularly, but this song is sick!

  • 4:00 'such a gay tattoo the flames still trapped behind the wall' hahahahaha XD nah seriously though these guys are awesome

  • To be honest... The only reason I clicked on this is because the eyeball looked like the Death Star.

  • They also have this song on their new album compass right? or is that already an older album xD

  • fuck i love this song!

  • i hate the vocals. sounds like coheed and combria. but everything is cool beans.

  • Bulb told me I must listen to this, so I have no choice, but I am glad I did.

  • Sexy Voice

  • Shame about the chorus or this song would be damn near flawless. The intro and the verses are just insane. Wonder if they play some pieces through a pitch shifter. Sounds like it at times.

  • @slayerfan2010 Djent isnt a genre. It's the sound of a guitar tone when playing aggressively picked four-note power chords. Ask any band that is classified as djent and that's what they'll say. It's just "progressive agressive metal" according to Misha.

  • @mydadiscool1234 You can ask whatever "djent" band whatever the fuck you want. The fact is that "djent" is officially a sub-genre of prog metal. It's basically Meshuggah-influenced progressive metal (obv with other influences, too). I hate the phrase "djent", by the way. Blecch. Anyway, y'know, "if it walks like a duck" and all that...

  • @Nuclearsalt I agree, if this type of music has a distinct style and tone, and people refer to it as djent, then it is a subgenre, or style if you will. Meanings of words do in fact change, such as how djent now refers to a style of prog metal as opposed to a sound a guitar makes

  • vocals sound like Mike Patton

  • Sounds like the singer from Pyramaze (legend of the bone carver album) and Coheed and Cambria vocalist mixed together. I like the sound.

  • what is this thing that broke the ceiling?

    is it my boner!?

    holy fuck.

  • Reminds me of that metal band called Circles

  • melodic cyber djent.

didnt like this song the first time i heard it, but its starting to grow on me c:

  • I was feeling more of an alterbridge vox, with 9inch nailes style playing.

  • Vocals sound like alterbridge

  • Djentstep intro

  • Vocals remind me of coheed and cambria actually

  • Vocals remind me of killswitch engage

  • im not really digging the vocals on the verse riffs the hook is decent, should have some screams in there though to feel the empowerment of the music this like cock blocking the song from being good but in this case its some guy trying to be on some broadway musical wtf, its decent though i would have approached this track way differently

  • @Provis55 - Excuse me while I go laugh at you behind your back. *walks a few feet away* AHAHAHAHAHAHa! *walks back* His voice is just FINE. T_T If ya don't like it, there are 'more fish in the sea' (if you know what I mean). I'd like to see you TRY to do better (and fail).

  • 1980's Power metal + Djent = wtf

I mean, it's good he's just mixed in waaaay to loud

  • @blackshadowbass sorta agree w/u

  • voice sucks

  • @Clitogusano Don't try to act like your opinion is a fact. And FYI it actually doesn't and you couldn't do better

  • @Clitogusano - And I bet you sound MUCH worse than you think he does. :) So there.

  • @MrMariared @NoaOno

    link updated =)

  • @igoflairait Ohh, it's just those three? Anyway is this an official release, an EP for purchase? If so then it's the only way to get Beautiful Fascination (my fav song)? :o

  • anyone can help me with the download link ?????? I is not got no where: S

  • lol the guy who asked "who the fuck is misha"..that comment is now hidden because of so many dislikes..trololol...btw i was diggin this video until i heard the singer

  • @paintsplatta99 Trollol everyone have to learn sometime :D Yes yes ofcourse it sounds now at the first listening, you might dig it after 5 listenings just like with meshuggah ;)

  • It was so amazing until I heard the vocals! I agree that beautiful voices over awesome low guitars sounds spectacular but this singer does not mesh with this band at all.

  • holy shit! that song is awesome!!!!!!!

  • penis enters vagina.. the end product is circles

  • Comment removed

  • @slayerfan2010 personally i prefer full instrumental

  • One thing is for sure, it's always hard to find a good vocalist a specially for a Djent band.

Although I would prefer someone like Chris Cornell that can also growl...it's a crazy combination and will most likely be very hard to find, but it's an idea.

  • @TheJake3

So you mean someone like Mike Patton!!!

  • protest the hero turned djent?

  • Comment removed

  • @gruj4

Ahahahaha, i agree, no offence but the whole coheed and cambria vocals just make the genre incredibly gay.

  • @gruj4 now i can see some sameness u.u

  • @gruj4 DJENT IS NOT A FUCKING GENRE

  • @LOOOL811

uhmmm....i was referring to djent tone not genre...

  • @LOOOL811 Calm down there ma boi

  • @gruj4 Yeah if he wasn't so whiney.

  • Hi everybody, thanks for all the praise :) I've stopped by because I wanted to address some of the criticisms on this page, due to the ideas and performance presented in this song. This recording is from the demo we made only weeks after I had joined Circles. There is a newer, more polished version on our mini-album called "The Compass". If your still unsure of my merit as a vocalist, I suggest you check out this link:

    youtube.com/watch?v=XT3j2aJZVnk&feature=related

    Thanks!

  • @perryfication Your merit as a vocalist in question? People can't decide between awesome and more awesome? That sucks...

  • Dont get me wrong, I LOVE clean vox in djent and all that good shit; But this guys vocals are sketchy.

  • The singer reminds me of Benji Webbe from Skindred.

  • this is like dubstep metal. fucking brilliant!

  • @slayerfan2010 tesseract ohhhhh yeaaaaaahhh

  • Niceeee.

  • If it wasn't for their amazingly generic song Beautiful Fascination I would say these guys are pretty damn awesome. Hopefully they don't make anymore of that typical, simple core music, and stick with this unique proggy djent music.

  • This is DJENT? o.o

  • I like this band and tesseract and periphery, and animals as leaders with the passion of a love affair...but Meshuggah is the greatest Djent band of all time...they invented it afterall...

  • at last!, aussie djentlemen!!! great job guys, keep it up =P

  • lyrics somewhere? plz, someone help me out!

  • Download link doesn't work dude! I'm eager to get my hands on this somehow.

  • techno metal

  • The singer sounds like the one in Sky Eats Ariplane! Is it him..? Wha'ts his name, I don't know..

  • @NoaOno Elliot Coleman :)

  • @justanotherBTBAMfan Yeahh ;) Is he in both bands now?

  • @NoaOno He's not in Circles at all xD He's just in SEA! :)

  • @justanotherBTBAMfan OKAY! But who's singing here?

  • @NoaOno The singer for Circles! :') I don't know his name, but it's not Elliot Coleman haha

  • @justanotherBTBAMfan Haha okay! Their singing is atleast damn similar to each other

  • Dream Theater+ Meshuggah .

  • Im trying to figure out how to favorite a video. this is the first time its been this good

  • @XXLd1K just like it.

  • @slayerfan2010

But that's not true. Most singers are naturally able to sing, and just learn to improve their technique, whereas learning to scream is a completely new technique to be learned from scratch.

  • @jws2906 im with you there but i have to admit that singing allows for more interesting song structure than screaming, since it seems like most screamers can only do one scream but singing offers a wider spectrum of fluctuation in tone, volume and emotion

  • @Klayperson

That's not really true, most decent screamers are able to vary their vocals quite a lot.

  • this is good stuff- good vocal phrasing and musicianship

  • obviously the best "djent" band on the side of Periphery!!! no dissing to the other competitors, but Circles' melodies are so round and catchy, total hit!!!! and I love their style; they play djent, and they're somewhat closer to rock than metal. so innovative!!!!!

  • @slayerfan2010 I agree, but in the same sense it takes a lot more to do both. Especially when it's one vocalist. I prefer the mix of both, adds as much atmosphere as the music itself.

  • Fuck, this is Bad Ass !!!!!!

  • @slayerfan2010 Being a singer/screamer, I can honestly say both have their unique challenges, and can wreck your voice if you do either wrong.

What makes singing metal such challenge is trying to stay in pitch with the blaring instruments around you.

  • Ha dude I started on like light rock, then I jumped to like numetal/rapcore/alternative then alternative metal/christian metal then Thrash metal/metalcore then posthardcore/emocore then heavy metal/ medolic metal/ progressive metal then experimental/industrial and now djent. Ha dude I feel like I've leveled up or something.

  • @BIGDADDYDUKE2 haha dude almost the same thing for me but I took the punk road into metal. i'm almost considering getting a shirt of a mario 1up mushroom that says Djent on it.

  • @sketchkids Hahahahhah. Dude I'm gonna do that.

  • I'm hear because... I just learned about a few other Djent bands. I have no idea what Djent is. To me it sounds like a mixture of like Posthard core/Indie/Experimental. And just the thought of combing those style of music is awesome to do it would probably be even more awesome. And if this is actually what Djent is then I am awesome haha.

  • so it's like... if meshuggah and dubstep had a baby?

  • I think all djent bands could be improved with growls. This one is no exception

  • @MaraMash

    periphery guitar player

  • @igoflairait but, at the same time, much more than that.

  • @igoflairait does misha have anything to do wit this band? jw

  • @igoflairait Please upload the torrent for download somewhere!

  • @MaraMash oh hi matt

  • @MaraMash You worst fuckin nightmare !

  • @MaraMash aka bulb

  • @MaraMash how could you ask that 0_0 and on a djent song of all places... :(

  • @MaraMash Also, youtube Bulb and you'll find his stuff. Like Unleash the Pwnies!, Mr. Person, Fuf, Resonance...it's all good stuff man.

  • @slayerfan2010 actually, depending on the type of scream, it takes a lot more to scream than to sing. it takes months to develop subpar vocals, that is if you take very good care of your voice. screaming is like working out, you can only work muscles work so hard. yet alone, no one can really teach screaming vocals. xD

  • i want misha in my ass anyway

  • Many djent and/or groove metal bands should just be instrumental. SOOOOOOOO GOOD though!

  • Sounds like a heavier Incubus to me...

  • I think the vocals are bad, but instrumental wise its really good and i agree with Akin, ALOT of Djent metal bands kinda get ruined cause of bad singing...but are good instrumental wise.

  • asdasdsa

I think all of this djent bands are ruined by gay vocals

  • i really think this is awful. i dont care what bulb says.

  • Where can I buy a million copies?

  • Epic intro, epic singing. Just damn - Djent has never sounded so sexy

  • the music is great. but the vocals dont fit at all

  • The music is quite inspiring, What's up with the vocals? Not really that bad but doesnt quite go with the musical genre.

  • @aliceshrestha Just let your ears decide ;)

In the end thats the point of music.

  • i loved this..until he *sang* then i just left, without saying a word and clicked Vildhjarta on the side :)

  • @Oblivion262 its not so much that its bad but it sure as hell doesn't fit the genre and it sounds like he is trying way too hard.

  • @flint757 it would be SO much better if he sang better, or just screamed :)

  • @Oblivion262 I know man... what is this coheed and cambria shit?

  • @FlamSalad i really only like one song by coheed, and its obviously welcome home XD but yea, is totally ruined this band for me -__-

  • All you nay-sayers need to stop sippin on that haterade and open your ears! These guys are better than most of the other bands in this genre. This is what good music sounds like.

  • @cantripvox why you gotta be hatin' on haterade? that's my favorite flavor...

  • Its nice to hear djent with GOOD vocals. This guy can sing, whether or not you like it with the style, he sings better than you. so enjoy it, bitches

  • @quarentine99 i must say this gay ass kind of singing ruins this band.....

  • @Hifcrea I wouldn't agree completely, but he definitely hasn't got anything special. The song has a great structure with a nice catchy melody which fits his vocals. However, he can sing, and his style is NOT gay.

But as I said, I know guitarists and drummers with no interest in singing who have a better voice than this vocalist has, so I think it's ignorant to place this vocalist before others.

  • @Hifcrea .

    disagreed

  • @Hifcrea

    You damn fool!!! LOL

That so-called "gay ass kind of singing" is going to help them excel. Watch and see. And it ISN'T gay. It fits this band perfectly. Circles and Tesseract help round out this "Djent" shit and give it more diversity where it's sorely lacking.

Ruination? Nah. Maybe it's just so good that it ruins your ability to comprehend it. And that's fair, not every mind was meant to handle greatness.

  • @quarentine99 Almost everything I listen to has some form of screaming or growling, so this is a welcomed change of pace.

  • @arlothellama Well, at least I am not saying they are bad, but they don't really do it for me. These guys are still amateurs, and although their concept and basis are good, they keep changing key signature and rhythms wildly.

I know what you're all thinking "But that's what djent is!', NO! These guys are doing it fairly wrong and need practice.

I find myself coming back to this song for one part, though, and that's a good sign.

  • @masterd000 i dont think djent has a set way of being made. they are doing there own style. and i think it works

  • Vocals are sketchy.

  • Aussie Pride :D

  • I'm never listening to a threat from misha again. this band isn't very good.

  • @mawkheaf Nigga you gay.

  • Singer sounds like Howard Jones.

  • one band i would love to see live argh

  • only narrow minded people can complain about these awesome vocals

  • @nameless12345

    i hate these vocals

  • Don't know what you all are talking about...the vocals are what makes this unique. Meshuggah and Periphery already exist.

  • Are you guys kidding???! The vocals are totally awesome! Suits it perfectly! I admit it took a couple of listens to come to this conclusion. I think maybe it's a lack of processing on the vocals? Everything else is oozing with production value, but the vocals sound like they've missed out a little - it's a little dull, maybe some reverb or eq-ing?

Totally effing awesome song but!! Love the intro

  • the vocals ruin this. WHY ALWAYS GAYVOCALS AT GOOD DJENT!?

  • God this song is so awesome until the vocals come in. I'm really not digging them.

  • shit vocal

  • cool music... i didn't know steve perry joined a new band. not quite his style, lol

try more layering on the vocals

  • Changed my mind about the vocals - in an ironic way, the generic pop elements in this make it more unique giving it contrast to the more technical djentish kinda elements. Anyway, there are a lot worse things that can be done with music than including derivitive alt. rock.

  • Noooo vocals nooooooooo! Not suitable for this unfortunately.

  • beginning is djentsome!!!!!!! kill the vocalist or tell him: girls are nicer than boys.this kind of singin is not good for djenting i think...

  • Comment removed

  • djent over load

  • the singing is NOT hardcore. i AM hardcore so i dont like the singing

  • @palmmute99 Periphery - Msdoppertunity

that is fairly hardcore no singing at all but not too much electronica in the mix

  • man i really digged this until that dude started singing.

  • I love this song so much. The synth lead in the beginning wrecks my speakers on a daily basis!

  • I like the opening. The rest of the song is boring as fuck. Lmao

  • I know people are gonna hate me this for me, but I really feel like this and other similar stuff is for people who were nu-metal fans/players and are trying to stay relevant.

  • @EroguroTheater totally off.

  • @globalchaos1984 I don't think so but again my opinion. All the hard rock dudes are trying to keep up.

Is like how Wrestling seems so weak now compared to UFC stuff, so you gotta try harder.

  • @EroguroTheater This sounds completely different than nu-metal maybe you need to get your hearing checked.

  • @globalchaos1984 Did not say it was nu-metal, but listen to a bunch of bands from the early 2000's, not just the obvious ones. Then you'll notice how this is a next step up.

  • @EroguroTheater Wrestling is fake. Think of this as UFC, and pop music as wrestling. There's your wrestling/ufc simile.

  • Sounds like luke jaeger could have played this ^^

  • So much potential, yet they're not delivering quite as well as they should be throughout their music. Sad.

  • no to the vocals, but I like the electro metal intro

  • the singer ruins it.

  • @Deadnsd fuck you

  • @Slofenwag0n no thanx....you fucking fagot

  • ahhhhhhh! fix the guitar tone! otherwise this is awesome! and u bastards took my idea, i wanted circles! its the perfect band name, and u beat me to it.

  • @markus0neill listen to tesseract, its the same style guitar tone... its called Djent.. and its so hard too get right!!!

  • @GuitarFox200 i know its a djent tone, and i listen to quite good bit of djent, including tesseract. im not sayin its not djenty, im sayin it could be djentier

  • I loved the intro, but after that I just lost interest.
