Hi ! I was watching the video, I've noticed that the sound is just perfect, and I've also noticed that you got long fingernails. I'm Hesitating to let my fingernails arise because I practise mainly metal music, and I need to be able to do tapping, and I think that fingernails could refrain from doing that. DO you advise me to let them arise ? (Love that jewel of music ... Windowpane ♪♥)
@Triviumvsa7x Hi there, firstly thank you for watching and commenting on my Windowpane lesson. Regarding my nails I play mostly classical guitar when I'm not playing Opeth so I need them for that, if I was playing metal mainly with tapping etc I would have to shorten my nails to do that. I'm sure there is a particular length that lets you fingerpick and tap, but I don't know, I'm rubbish at tapping for starters. I think if you grew your nails that they would get in the way of you tapping
@eezerian Ok thank you for advising me ! I will see later, when my nails will be longer ! Continue to play like that dude , I learnt a part of this song thanks to your video ! Windowpane forever ! ♪
Thanks so much, you have made my life so much easier.
I find I can reach the chord at 1:30 cleanly and quickly by playing the C# at the 7th Fret on the E String and fretting the notes G# and D# with the index and ring finger respectively.
im doin this song now and i have a capoon the 2nd fret and also have standard tuning and alot of it doesnt sound right (ex. solo and slide durning intro) is it that i have a shitty fender starcaster or my amp or what? help appreciated
@near1996 Hey man, it would help if it was in the correct pitch but sure, you can play it without a capo, just not along with the song. Also the chord at 1.35 might be a bit of a stretch without the capo, but manageable. Thanks for watching. Eezer
@muffinmedschredder Hey man, thank you for watching my new video. My current electric guitar is a Les Paul copy called 'Vintage', pretty crap I know but I've got my eye on a PRS at some point. I didn't use an amp for this but put the gtr through a POD X3 on 'Archtop Jazz' with the trebles almost taken out. I also took the trebles out from the guitar too (keeps nail noise low). Hope this helps you get a good clean sound from your Jackson.
This is Absolutely astonishingly good, and also, thank you for making such a great tutorial for us lesser guitarists:> keep up the excellent work:)

I have another quest somewhat off topic..
i'm playing this on a classical acoustic and it tires my hand..
will simply playing the guitar build endurance, or burn out my hand?
what are some things i can do to strengthen my hand.
thanks!
