the song "Dangerous and Moving" by t.A.T.u. reminds me of this section of the Queens Blvd Line because i was listening to it on my CD player on my first rail fan trip here
Or actually it look like a late-nite service wen da E arrived at 71 Av, i thought i saw a G across da platform, plus the G had a red signal while the E had green signal. I think the conductor said Trains r running express 2 Roosevelt Av. Im not sure
It had 2 b a weekend cuz it switched 2 da express jus leaving 75 Av. Also sum E during mornings like from 10 to 10:30 run local to 71 Av cuz sum E from rush hours are out of service and use the express tracks after Jamaica-Van Wyck to da Jamaica Yard
Actually sometimes in rush hour as badluck would have it when i am in a rush to get the LIRR. They route the E Express on the F track right at 71cont. in order to ease the back up trains behind us. But your right on weekends and nights the E always run on the F track to 75st.
Read about the "Independent Subway System" in its innagural year. It's good reading. The Independent Subway system has a rich history.
The "AA", 8th Avenue Local, was one of the earliest independent Subway lines to operate. the third Independent Subway system was imcomplete due to the "Great Depression" and "World war II".
The "E" Train, 8th Avenue Queens Express, was originally an 8th Avenue Express in Manhattan during rush hours while the "CC" the 8th Avenue Bronx Concourse Local was in operation under 8th Avenue in the Bronx, and Manhattan. In its earlier days, the "E" train ran as a local under 8th Avenue in Manhattan while the 8th Avenue "A" train ran express all the time. The "E" train, 8th Avenue Queens Express ran local with the "AA" local during non-rush hours, Monday thru Friday.
nice video. the only time i been on the E was when i went from Queens Plaza to 53 st and Lexington Ave and another time when i went from 34 St- Penn Station to World Trade Center
