Thanks to Google I was able to find out that Tokichi Setoguchi san wrote this piece in 1897, the same year that J. P. Sousa wrote "The Stars and Stripes Forever". The "Warship March" is a very famous composition in Japan. I enjoy hearing it...Bravo and thanks to this fine band for playing it.

This is the first Japanese march I have headed and it sound a bit strange in the start for an European, but when you listen to it again, it has a very nice sound. It is a good march!

海軍ではなく迷彩服を纏った陸軍の軍楽隊さんが軍艦行進曲を演奏しているのは妙な違和感もありますが、このギャップもまた魅力的であります。
尤も、日本陸軍の軍服に一番似合うのは今も昔もやはり分列行進曲ですがね。

陸の軍艦行進曲はほぼ発表当時の楽譜のまま、
対して海の軍艦行進曲は何度か改定を経た楽譜と何かで読んだことがあります。
陸の軍艦行進曲の演奏、初めて聴きましたが確かにどこか海と違いますね。
でもテンポが良いというか、メリハリがあってこちらも格好いいです。

聞くトコによると、海自は旧海軍の存続組織で、陸自は新組織なんで、海自のプライドは高いとかなんとか。
ニミッツ提督が東郷元帥を敬愛していた事や、海軍は親善寄航などで国際交流があったから、旧海軍の存続については同情もあり、一応歴史が違う自覚はあるようですね。

陸自の方がメリハリがありますね。
当時の陸海軍の中は非常に悪く、強襲上陸中の陸軍をほったらかしにして海軍が引き上げたり「カーキ色（陸軍）がアメリカ兵よりも憎い」と言うぐらいの海軍士官も居たので埋められない溝があったと思います。
