And as we walk in the front door, finally say "Okay, you can have it." While they look at me in confusion I will do a slight of hand and make whatever it is appear in front of them. @neilhd100: Uh.. tantrums though don't actually show a bad parent. All kids go through tantrums when they are 2 - 6 years old, it's pretty normal. What tells a good parent from a bad parent though is how they handle the situation with the child.
