Soul (not spirit) consists of mind (intellect), will, & emotion. Animals have all 3, do they not?
God grants us the desires of our hearts -- in Heaven more than on earth, wouldn't you say? No desire goes unmet. Not only will we have our pets with us, but they will also TALK to us. Literally.
I asked God, "You wouldn't give my kitty to me, then take him away, would you?". He immediately gave me Matthew 7:11. IMO, case closed.
You are an angel dovad16. I love that you found defenses of animals in a chosen version of the bibie, even though I am not a bible believer. What do you say to christians and others who can find their own versions where animal torture/killing (called "sacrifice") is almost required of the faithful, as in Leviticus where Moses gives crazy detailed instructions on how animals are to be killed for god? Christians use the bible constantly as a defense of meat eating, animal testing, and all of it.
If we look at Strongs Concordance the word is "paradeisos" literally a garden. The Garden of Eden, it seems was replica, in some part of what heaven would be like. Since Adam and Eve could not receive physical death.
Animals were in this garden, so animals must be in heaven.
dovad16: that was a very good video. I wanted to point something else out to you there are three verses in the New Testament use the word "Paradise" to decribe where righteous people will go after they go. "And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, Today shalt thou be with me in paradise." (Luke 23:43). The importance is the word "paradise". He was speaking to the other man on the cross of where he would be when he died.
I'm sorry sir, but you can't take things out of context and go build a church! There is a big picture in the bible and it is not about whether or not animals go to heaven. The Hebrew Nephesh or "Soul" simply means a physical person or animal. It is not a spirit. Ecl3:20 states both will return to dust. Jesus has a God! Eph 1:3. Jesus' Father is looking for true worshipers Jn 4:23. Jesus never asked us to worship him. He brought a message & everybody ignored it, even to this day. Find the truth!
I definitely believe animals go to Heaven. They are God's creation, and God loves them unconditionally too, so its unjust to say that they don't.
Thank you for this video, it is true that a lot of our preachers don't believe animals go to Heaven. I know one that doesn't believe that they have souls!
Thank you! Realization of their being a soul no less than I had a lot to do with me becoming a Vegan. Actually I became one on my own long before I even knew there was such a cluster of people that are like minded.
Every creature is given the 'breath of life.' According to the Bible, it was after receiving that breath of life' that man became a living soul. Elsewhere in Genesis it refers to the animals receiving the 'breath of life'. I side with those who are of the belief that such creatures have a soul no less than us arrogant humans. Perhaps it has a different destiny, etc., but that's open to conjecture.
I think this is an interesting subject. Is there a death that just results in just ending life? As a christian I never thought about how death must be like for an animal . Interesting how most people belief that mankind continues to live in an afterlife. What does it feel like for an animal? (maybe sleeping) Maybe every creature that God creates has a soul??
Since Christian implies a love for God, I feel like it would only be hypocritical of me to use that title, and be responsible for destroying his creation. I feel the same way about recycling and driving big cars.
Wow, it's great to hear a Christian who believes animals have souls. I have never known what to say in reply to them when they tell me they don't, now I have proof! Thank you!
I was at a church lunch on Sunday, and they had ordered pizza for everyone. Salad too, but ranch dressing, which has eggs in it. For me, I feel like I could not be Vegetarian w/o my Christianity, and I couldn't be Christian w/o my Vegetarianism. They go hand in hand. One can't exist with out the other.
All the pets I've had and most other animals I've met, have been much more pleasant to be around, being loyal and offering unconditional love that most "humans" can't deliver.
It's due to mankind having insecurities;being too selfish.
Like They Say ,Listen To Your Older's Man. And Yes ,According To Thelogian's ,The Diciple Thomas Only Ate Bread And Water ,The Diciple Matthew Also Ate The Same .The Early Church Father's Said That Eating Meat Is Dining With Devil's. So Yes ,Meat Maybe A Sin.
Thanks for this video! I'm helping out with our church's release time program and one of our teachers traumatized pretty much every fourth grader by telling them that animals are soulless creatures. That was a bad move, and I instantly felt a jar in my stomach.
I'd say that the only thing in your video I disagree with would be the zoos. Zoos mostly try and preserve animals and stop cruelty than promote it. The reason the public can view the animals is for education.
Thank you. One of my son's fond memories is the time we gave a funeral for a goldfish when it was quite young. Zoos vary in their level of treatment, but I'm glad I'm not in one. For a free spirited animal, to be confined and unable to roam must be dispiriting. It may come down to the "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" precept.
most humans are also confined and unable to roam. It's called "society" we sit in cubicles, on couches, chained to TV's and desk chairs. It is very uncomfortable and unnatural for many of us. I get restless all the time. But it's all I'm good at. Most of us wouldn't know how to live wild and free, we have been so thoroughly programmed. Many of us would choose this life anyway, for its safety. So we are "doing unto animals" as we see fit, if we choose their security over freedom.
Your point is well taken. Initially animals were given green plants and grass to eat, but a lot got changed after the flood. We can only be responsible for our own actions,..the way animals relate to one another is their own affair. Even so, I personally dislike that much of creation is operating under a predator/prey status. Hopefully, one day the lion will lay down with the lamb as scripture says.
That's why I can't embrace the Christian faith. I believe many churches are in the hands of the deceiver. Actually, I believe this world is in the hands of a deceiver. true Life does not require Death! I believe there are perhaps a multitude of higher powers at work on Earth and perhaps other worlds and existences. This is overwhelming to human mind, we need the comfort of personal god. And that's OK. Jesus was a great example and teacher. But blood sacrifice is a Satanic idea
Hello.. I find it so refreshing to see a wise man sharing his thoughts on YouTube. Thank you so much for subscribing to my videos.
I made a video about Veganism and Christianity yesterday, I wish I had seen this video before because I didn't pronounce correctly some words from the bible.
Since I am only used to reading the bible in spanish. I am going to upload my video tomorrow because the bandwith I have at home is too slow to upload a video, I think you will like it :-) God bless you tons!
You are right. Most religion foists misinformation and shields people from properly appraising non-human animals. In my opinion, anything less than compassion is an atrocity.
1 Timothy 4 1Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; .....
3Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. 4For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
The teachings found in The Gospel of the Holy Twelve are actually the original teachings of Jesus which got cut in the formation of Matthew,Mark,Luke, and John. Its just in the latter days, they were found, translated from Aramic, and are now available again. I, for one, do not want a living soul to be slain in order for me to have a delightful cuisine. Every one must decide for themselves on this matter. Thanks for your comment.
The teaching that animals have no souls originated from false doctrines of the Roman Catholic Church. Humans are taught that they need the flesh of beasts for protein however when one reseaches medical studies of the side effects of eating meat primarily beef and pork, illnesses outweigh the benefit i.e. heart disease, high cholestrol, intestinal track parasisitics plus many life-threatening diseases. Animals are our friends and like Adam we are to love and take care of them.
I find that I get adequate protein from soy milk, beans, peanut butter, and nuts. My doctor is delighted with my cholesterol level..thanks to the vegan style diet. Actually, I went to the diet out of regard for our friends, the other living beings, and any health benefits are just an add on for me. Thanks for your comment.
Sigh...I regret that many times it appears that way. We humans are guilty of specism, determining which species are worthy of compassion and which ones are just property. It took us about 1850 years AD to decide that even though the people in Jesus' day allowed slavery, that we could do better. Bit by bit, more people are learning the value of enlarging those to be included in "do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Thanks for your comment.
but according to the Bible, God did give us Dominion over the animals? People of some blood types tend not to thrive on vegetarian diets. But for many of us, it's harder on the body. If we are to be stewards, we should try to be good ones. Unfortunately most mass-produced meat is subject to much cruelty. You are what you eat. Like also begets like. It's a cruel world for many. Meat's like a drug. I lost too much weight and strength on vegetarian diets. But I'm still trying
I had dominion over my young children but that encompassed the care of them..not eating them. I find that with soy milk, crock pot cooked lima beans, rice, etc. I am doing well on the vegetarian diet, but it did take some experimenting with stuff. I mix rice with cream of celery, tomato,or mushroom soup and add green peas and eat it as a main course and am content. I'm finding it actually to be easier on the body. However, I don't make a fetish over it all.
Zthustra, thanks for your comment. Well, if animals are not souls, then neither are humans if we are using the Bible as our playing field. If the translation of nephresh to mean soul is a mistranslation then men equally were not created living souls but living creatures. What a catch 22 that is?! I have no problems with intelligent design from a seed coming to ultimate fruition. Consider the little apple seed which ultimately becomes an apple...by design within the seed.
additionally: I am taken with the fact that the apple seed and the seedling in no way resemble one another. Neither does the forthcoming tree resemble the seed. The blossum which later becomes the apple resembles neither the tree, the blossum, the tree, the sapling, or the seed, yet, the design for it all was built into the seed. Amazing isn't it?
Enjoyed your presentation. Of course animals are not souls, they are living (breathing) creatures, nephresh, as are human beings. The word soul descends from saiwala meaning coming from or belonging to the sea because our Germanic ancestors believed that the vital life force of human beings came from the sea. The translation of nephresh to soul is just one more of many mistranslations. Thanks for the VLOG.
I assume you are relating to intelligent design, and if so you are relating to an intelligent being (or beings) behind such a design. If not, then a lot must be delegated to nameless, unseen forces which initially laid such a design function in place. Thanks for the comment.
Why do you use the words, " Of course animals are not souls"??? Why 'of course'? Why not? Why on earth should I attribute the word soul to humans and not to animals as well. I welcome your response to this for I am trying to learn.
Because the word saiwala, soul, is a Germanic word that means something different than nephesh, living (breathing) creature. Animals, including the human animal, are nephesh, living (breathing) creatures. The old Norse tradition that the life of a HUMAN came from the sea and was saiwala (soul) is conceptually different than nephesh. The modern definition of soul is closer to saiwala but doesn't acurrately reflecty the meaning of either saiwala or nephesh.
Leviticus, however, does give permission to the Hebrews to eat meat. It clearly defines which meats are clean and which unclean. Animals, to be clean, must have a cloven hoof AND chew the cud. Fish must have scales. But in the LAW, nowhere does the OT god say that man may not eat meat because animals have souls.
I notice that Jesus said that Moses permitted divorce because of the hardness of the people's hearts, but not because it was good or in God's original intent. In the same light, immediately upon leaving the ark Noah sacrifices an animal, so God says (sigh) okay, they can be for food., but it was a concession, not the best thing, however, (just my interpretation)
Notice, too that when Genesis writes of the breath of life it says not that Adam then HAD a living nephesh (soul), but that he BECAME one. The body and the soul are not separate entities, but one in the same, at least according to this text.
I agree, although I am working on my dealing about where to go with it from there. From this text (which is limited in its presentation), I and my little dog Mossy 2 are both living souls. Different...but souls nevertheless. If nothing else, I determine to respect such living souls enough to no longer kills or eat them. The afterlife I leave to God's determination. Thanks for your comment.
You bring forward great information! "Cocoons" are the perfect word you labeled these pieces of information. I like that you're busting myths and bringing true knowledge. If you're not able to convince some people, at least you have them questioning, which is the first step! Nice clip!

Whether or NOT animals have souls, they were created to be eternal.
How do I know? They were created BEFORE the fall of man.
Had man not fallen, they, like Adam, Eve and all of paradise would
have lasted forever. God promises ALL creation awaits the coming of Jesus and ALL creation will be restored.
No one can love an animal and not feel closer to God. They don't have the free will to disobey Him, therefore they show love more naturally.

"For we know that even the things of nature, like animals and plants, suffer in sickness and death as they await this great event." Romans 8:22
Noah's Ark was supposedly a metaphor of Jesus. God made Noah "save" all these creatures from the flood.

God loves all his creation and it will share in heaven.
Animals share unconditional love.
Animals don't sin, but people do.
They have more right to be in heaven than people do.
Scripture tells us in genesis and revelation
Humans are animals also, so saying that they dont have a soul is the same as saying we dont have a soul.
I believe that all animals have souls.
Just my opinion :)

Some folks maybe don't believe that animals have souls because perhaps they don't want a reason to stop eating meat.
Just like certain types of men who treat women poorly, they see women as LESS than.
Just like men who enslaved other men, and got it in their heads that certain races of men were LESS THAN... to justify their enslavemen, etc.
Jesus said to love our neighbor as ourself. Our neighbor is ALL of Creation I believe.
This is a wonderful video. Thank you!

God didnt tell animals to not kill , therefore it is impossible for them to sin , but they still have souls.
Now think about it.
God saw that death was good.
it was only bad when the humans caused a death .
Its not a lion's fault for killing a human , because the lion did not know any better.
However , humans know of their actions and they think twice about what they do.
Animals can't go to hell because every bad thing that they did was an accident.

Thanks for the comment Nico. If this video results in just 1 animal left unslaughtered it will be worth it.

You bring forward great information! "Cocoons" are the perfect word you labeled these pieces of information. I like that you're busting myths and bringing true knowledge. If you're not able to convince some people, at least you have them questioning, which is the first step! Nice clip!
