I also noticed a sticker on your trailer from a video where is say's certified APEX installer. I checked once again and APEX does not make foam and never did, They were selling other companies products under a private label agreement, and they are now out of business and have files bankruptcy. So I would really try to be honest with your customers like you mentioned previously.
No need to be defensive here, I just asked if you were selling a certified product, certified by someone other than yourself. I would argue that a home owner would feel a bit more comfortable knowing they were purchasing a product that has been tested by a third party certified testing facility. I would also, think a homeowner would like to see that testing result, it would benefit you to get that test. The building codes are moving to adopt ICC listed products.
I agree Foam Wiz, As a chemical guy myself I can easily blend a super fire retardent sample to make a video, All customers should ask for an ICC( International Code Council) report for validate his claims. Also, After 20 years in the chemical business I am yet too see an r-value of 4.7 on open cell foam. The ICC report can be found on the internet at ICC, that will validate the flame spread and also the r-value claims.
This question causes confusion. Does ICC validate or does the actual test validate? I would argue "the actual test." The test (without using the commonly used and misleading kraft-faced fiberglass control group) is posted on the website for your viewing pleasure. Popcorn, soda and candy is optional and the responsibility of the viewer.
Question, Could you please produce a ASTM-E-84 Certificate, or even an ICC report to insure homeowners that the foam you are spraying in their house in fact has the fire retardent that you are advertising. Its so very easy to "MIX" the foam for the video, but is every set the same way?!
An ASTM E 84 or ICC report doesn't insure the honesty of the company and sprayer that they are installing the foam that was contracted. However, I'm glad you asked this question. We always do one better than just a piece of paper that doesn't insure anything. As we're spraying the product we take a chunk of it right from the roof-decking or walls and burn it right in front of the homeowner. Seeing, feeling, smelling, touching and no burn through. Paper or proof? We choose proof.
"EnviroGreen" Funny seeing those words when fire resistant foam is made from oil and contains extremely toxic retardants.
